Many structural and behavioral changes begin to occur in the population as a result of this demographical shift. Re-employment after the formal retirement of employees increasingly becomes usual routinely marking it as a significant trend it in the economy. Therefore, there should be some significant determinants which determine this behavior of working after retirement in Sri Lanka. A quantitative and exploratory research study was launched as a field study depending on a comprehensive literature review. Six determinants were identified which impact to Post-Retirement Employment in Sri Lanka through the analysis. A new questionnaire was developed and then standardized after furnishing the pilot survey and reviewing by scholars, peers and other related third parties. Primary data was gathered from 97 post-retired employees. Since it was a one-time data collection, the study could be addressed as a cross-sectional study.","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89341022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This knowledge era where Human resource is considered as the main strategic resource demands the full potential and commitment of the work force to win an edge over competition. Such commitment can no longer promote through traditional strategies alone but can only be fostered when conditions are available for employees to bring their ‘whole self’-physical, mental and spiritual selves- to work place.  Hence, call for spiritual values at work is increasing as employees seek opportunities for enriched work performed within the context of an organizational community along with personal and work goal congruence. Organizational commitment when fostered through these spiritual dimensions will be much consistent and long-lasting than temporary attachment generated through time- to- time material rewards. Hence, this conceptual paper aims at surfacing the grounds within which these two concepts can be linked for the betterment of the organization and its stakeholders","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85445596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, this study tried to explore the factors that influence the supportive work life balance of the women academic staff in university. In quantitative phase of the study, a questionnaire survey was used to gather data from 265 women lecturers in state universities of Sri Lanka. Twenty in -depth interviews were conducted with women lecturers in same universities as gathering qualitative data. Finding of structural equation modeling indeed indicate that the significant negative relationship between role demands and work life balance, it fills a gap in the literature by validating the associations between role demands and work life balance dimensions. The qualitative data were analyzed via thematic exploratory analysis, which suggest that supportive factors for work life balance, such as workplace flexibility, avoiding role interference, correct prioritization, good working environment and personal factors against the role demands, that will be useful to Sri Lankan women in the academic profession to avoid their imbalance of work and family life and it also sends an important message to individuals to encourage work and family satisfaction","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75140065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though there are considerable amount of studies conducted on this area, there remain few empirical and theoretical findings on extending the Job Demands- Resource theory in to work family domain. However, the muprenurship concept is still a relatively under-researched area, and represents a challenging research field. Departing from a social constructionist understanding of mumpreneurs, this study examines how the entrepreneurial mothers are constructed in research articles. The paper makes use of discourse analysis to examine a selection of empirical research articles from 2000 to 2017 on mumpreneurs in entrepreneurship research in order to convey the key concept, main findings, key contribution, and the methodology. The analysis of the research texts revealed several assumptions and constructs that were taken for granted about mumpreneurs. Main findings based on the discourse analysis reveal five hegemonic statements: Mumpreneurs are not ‘proper’ entrepreneurs, many women face competing and often contradictory societal expectations when they are combining motherhood and business, entrepreneurship supporting motherhood, new entrepreneurial identity: ‘I am not just a housewife, and mumpreneurs’ motivations change over and the life course. The practices and the research results are moreover dependent on the particular context in which the articles are produced. This means that their results and assumptions cannot be generalized to other contexts uncritically.","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83691263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore this study aims to investigate the impact of GSCM practices on financial performance relating to manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka. For this purpose structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 25 manufacturing companies listed on Colombo Stock Exchange, Sri Lanka. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling method. Green supply chain practices were categorized in to four basic practices as internal environmental management, green purchasing, customer cooperation with environmental considerations and eco design, and investment recovery. Financial performance was measured by using Return on Equity. The results showed that green purchasing and investment recovery significantly influence on financial performance and the other two green supply management practices do not significantly affect financial performance.","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81117652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, daily market closing index values of (All Share Price Index) ASPI of CSE for five years, from June 2010 to June 2015, without adjustments, have been selected as the sample. Both parametric tests and non-parametric tests have been used in this study. The evidence presented in this study confirms that CSE is not weak form efficient within the sample period and is consistent with the findings of previous studies. Therefore, the fact that Efficient Market Hypothesis as a dynamic concept is debatable as studies over the past have consistently confirmed that CSE is not in weak form efficient, although the efficiency of most markets is dynamic.","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87152741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there is a considerable number of research to indicate that the strategic clarity has a strong positive association with firm performance, there remains little theoretical and empirical evidence to explain the effect of strategic flexibility on firm performance. Hence, this concept paper draws on the Porter’s typology and the Miles and Snow’s typology to analyze how the strategic flexibility moderates the association between strategic clarity and firm performance. The paper concludes with a conceptual model that enables the testing of the discrete effect of strategic flexibility on firm performance which in turn will add insights to the said models in the study.","PeriodicalId":32766,"journal":{"name":"Kelaniya Journal of Management","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86713246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
