This includes the mobile application system which can act as tracking and educational tools for Muslim consumers to validate JAKIM halal logo. The study was conducted in Gadek, Alor Gajah Malacca to gauge the perceptions of consumers towards these mobile application systems. The data was collected using questionnaires and was analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). A total of 150 respondents were selected by systematic sampling. The study demonstrates that the consumers do not put high trust towards the mobile application system. They also claimed that they did know and understand the current available systems. However, the consumers agree that these mobile applications can act as educational tools to inculcate awareness about halal products among Muslim. The inferential statistic also indicates that there is a significant relationship between the usage of mobile applications system and the purchasing of halal cosmetics (r = 0.279, p = 0.000). This study gives implication to JAKIM, HDC, KPDNKK and consumer associations to play a role in shaping the culture of buying halal products among consumers through mobile application system. Nevertheless, comprehensive awareness activities need to be done to ensure the success of this system.","PeriodicalId":327033,"journal":{"name":"The 5th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for The Muslim World (ICT4M)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126044264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes data acquisition, signal pre-processing, feature extraction and classification. Different combinations of feature extraction and classification techniques have been proposed. However, the results are subjective. Very few studies include subject-independent classification. In this paper, a new profiling model, known as CMAC-based Computational Model of Affects (CCMA), is proposed), CMAC is presumed to be a reasonable model for processing EEG signals with its innate capabilities to solve non-linear problems through self-organization feature mapping (SOFM). Features that are extracted using CCMA are trained using Evolving Fuzzy Neural Network (EFuNN) as the classifier. For comparison, classification of emotions using features that are derived from power spectral density (PSD) was also performed. The results shows that the performance of using CCMA for profiling emotions outperforms the performance of classifying emotions from PSD features.","PeriodicalId":327033,"journal":{"name":"The 5th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for The Muslim World (ICT4M)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124392569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the benefits of social media to organizations, there were cases of information leakage, malware, identity theft, espionage and sabotage through such use. This paper explores employees' awareness of information security around social media and presents the initial findings of a study on a tertiary education institution in Malaysia. As an extension to a previous study, this study also found that employees were not only disclosing personal information but they are also disclosing organizational information on social media. This indicates there is a potential for information security threats to organizations through employees' use of social media. Nevertheless, the findings demonstrate that some participants were aware about the implications of employees' use of social media to information security.","PeriodicalId":327033,"journal":{"name":"The 5th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for The Muslim World (ICT4M)","volume":"164 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115393961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, to human mind, the 20m is reprocessed into some linguistic variables such as almost there, close or far, etc. That is, human mind does not measure precisely or cannot “reckon” the 20m in crisp measurement; it just imagines it and linguistically approximates such distances. Hence, the question is “why can't the outputs from GPS and other such devices be provided in linguistic forms that are more appropriate and realistic to humans, while at the same time not enforcing unrealistic standards in the approximations. The aim of this study therefore is to provide fuzzy linguistic representation of distance approximations between a user and other entities. Entities in this regard will include facilities of interest and landmarks in location-aware system in indoor space. This work is an attempt to model the general ways of language references used by people to approximate distances in linguistic form suitable for indoor environment navigation.","PeriodicalId":327033,"journal":{"name":"The 5th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for The Muslim World (ICT4M)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116893949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
