The environment of e-learning provides more efficient and effective methods of acquiring and transferring knowledge compared to the traditional classroom environment. Individuals are still able to learn without the constraints of time and space. However, the e-learning environment is not fully capable of catering to individuals with disabilities. Talkie is created to cater the needs of persons with disabilities, especially for the blind and visually impaired. The web-based application is developed with speech recognition and synthesis technology to enable the users to interact with the system. It provides voice feedback to guide the user through the system and translates voice inputs into text when students take an exam. The developed e-learning system is fully functional and technically assessed to meet the requirements of its intended use. Based from the coordinators, teachers, and blind students' user acceptance test result, the developed system has met the requirements in providing a new learning medium for the blind and visually impaired students. The application is working properly according to its purpose and is suited to be used as an alternative learning environment.","PeriodicalId":326151,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 The 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Educational Technologies","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122970795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) provides text and questions, or problems to learners. It also summarizes students' performance and generates flashcard. CAI offers numerous advantages for education and training when properly designed and implemented. Students understandably find the resulting programs dull and informative. CAI applications should be designed where the learners have control over the pace of their learning. The use of sign language furthers the reading competence of deaf people and enhances their acceptance and understanding of learning content presented to them. This paper focuses on determining on how e-Filipino Sign Language (FSL) can aid the deaf and mute students by implementing daily learning materials and assessments. Results show that the developed system produced positive feedback from the intended end-users' learning capability.","PeriodicalId":326151,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 The 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Educational Technologies","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122001050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the Philippines on average around 1,230 people were killed in 520 disasters on 7 major natural disasters. This disaster includes earthquake, fire, typhoon, flood, etc. School and offices prepare a practice drill for disaster that will help the community to prepare on such catastrophe, but this usually happens once a year and is only limited to earthquake and fire. Internet nowadays has been a big influence to the community and school, and this is a great opportunity to grab. The study focus on developing an e-learning system of disaster preparedness, specifically for students/kids. The developed system aims to help students to learn more about the disaster preparedness presented in an interactive environment. By implementing gamification in education, this will help the kids to not only to enjoy learning but to gain insights how to be safe in case of natural and man-made emergencies. The application presented different information modules to enhance children's learning, which include assessments to various topics of the subject matter and evaluated the effectiveness of videos and animated presentations of the system to kid's learning.","PeriodicalId":326151,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 The 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Educational Technologies","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114399455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has become a major problem as too much stress can lead to anxiety, lack of motivation, irritability, and depression. This study aim to develop a virtual reality in mobile application that can be used to reduce concurrent stress among class students. The design of the virtual reality applications provides target users an immersive, virtual environment that can help promote relaxation to minimize and alter stressful activities and environment. This developed application named \"Serenity\", was designed to cater to Filipino college students. The application utilizes Philippine-based geographical sceneries and locations that brings calm and harmony to one's experience in a virtual world. The design of the system applied the concept of a traveler in a role playing game who visits vacation spots in various settings, which includes night and day situations. Readings from the galvanic skin response sensor and oximeter will be recorded throughout the experiment to determine subject response towards the use of the virtual reality system. The application was tested on students that were classified into three different stress groups: low stress, moderate stress, and high stress. The developed virtual reality system is fully functional and meets the requirements set by its intended users.","PeriodicalId":326151,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 The 6th International Conference on Frontiers of Educational Technologies","volume":"-1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129630922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
