Even so, this virus is relatively new - it was first discovered in 1947. Recent Zika pandemic caused an interest on its sudden emergence as fatal human pathogen because previously, it was known as the viral pathogen of rhesus monkey. Why and how it crossed species barrier, how this virus spread throughout the world, how it gained the ability to create epidemic - these questions remained unsolved. In this study, selection pressure on two Zika viral protein encoding sequences, Env and M protein, was observed. Bayesian method was employed to create a phylogeographic simulation of its world-wide spread. Phylogenetic study based on maximum-likelihood has been done to reconstruct its ancestry. Medication of a diabetes patient still costly which leads to high mortality in developing and low income countries. Considering the fact that diabetes is a non-curable disease, prevention and management is a big deal. However, proper lifestyle management requires awareness, knowledge and care. Information and Communication technology has made life easier as information can be found more easily. Smartphone based applications are also becoming more popular as prices are lowering every day. Sharing knowledge, creating awareness, disease management and even diagnosis is possible using smartphone applications. In this article we discussed possible solution of diabetes management and prevention through mobile application and also presented our intelligent application, DiaHealth for diabetes management and prevention. To do this, we added recent trends of diabetes based mobile application and compared DiaHealth with other popular applications. Then detailed feature is given in a structured manner. It is not possible to cure neurodevelopmental disorder fully but sometimes, early detection leaves an opportunity to improve the condition through proper initiatives. In Bangladesh, due to lack of awareness, resources, and expertise the detection of such disability is delayed, which results for the child to be affected to permanent distress. Therefore, a smart device integrated, user friendly framework is proposed to screen neurodevelopmental disorder, which uses the questionnaires of RNDA with the illustrations for better understanding of the parents. Smart-NDA automatically screens the children basing on the responses of the questionnaires, informs the users about the screening result, stores the information and responses in an online database which is shared with pediatricians and concerned authorities, and also suggests the nearest childrens hospital, if required for further assessment and confirmation. The proposed framework is expected to increase the rate of early detection of neurodevelopmental disorder drastically in Bangladesh as well as to create awareness on reaching the developmental milestone of the child. The loss of myelin layer (demyelination) exposes the WM and GM, which is viewed as lesions in the MRI brain scans. To treat and monitor the progression of MS in standardized way, patient MRI brain scans are registered with brain atlas. However, in this registration step, the MS lesions create a strong distortion in the output transformation which creates a bias in registered image. In this paper, we propose a novel image inpainting technique to reduce such bias. Image inpainting is used to reconstruct the lost or deteriorated parts of image data. We inpaint the MS lesions to make it appear like healthy tissue and register this inpainted MS brain with the brain atlas, and add the masked lesions afterwards. To evaluate the performance of our proposed inpainting algorithm, we employ a two step evaluation process. Firstly, we inpaint distorted 2D images and artificial MS lesions in 3D MRI image data with our proposed and state-of-the-art methods. Secondly, we register the inpainted brain with an atlas and compare its performance with the ground truth. In this paper, the proposal of a wearable device for visually impaired persons is presented that can detect color and speak out the name of the color in two different languages: Bengali and English, through connected headphone. Bluetooth headphone or wire headphone, even speaker can be interfaced with the proposed system. The proposed device will be able to detect color and turn the color name into sound so that visually impaired persons can recognize it. It will be implemented and developed using a microcontroller, color sensor along with an amplifier and wired or Bluetooth connected headphone. The device will employ a reliable microcontroller platform known as Arduino Nano along with Bluetooth module HC-05, color sensor TCS 3200, LM 386 power amplifier with SD card module. But sometimes a system detects an object or area as a face where there is no face at all. This paper presents a technique to reduce such wrong detection rate introducing human skin color (HSC) characteristic. The general property of human skin in RGB color space is that it possess R>G>B (i.e., red values are higher than green value and green value is higher than blue). In this study, such HSC property has been incorporated with the popular Haar feature based face detection (HFFD), to reduce wrong detection of faces. Proposed HFFD with HSC (HFFD-HSC) has been tested and compared with standard HFFD rigorously on a large number images with single and multiple faces. Portable communication devices provide the facility to the users for customizing applications according their needs. Besides, the usability and costing range of these portable communication devices make them less condemning for the users. On the other hand, communication devices efficiently help the users with less motor skills. After considering these points, a communication device named “Bolte Chai”, has been developed and experimented in a special school's students and teachers based on five criteria to evaluate usability and effectiveness. Those criteria are, the ability to customize the program to fit the needs of the users, motor skills for operating the applications, reasonable time and resources involved in the teaching and utilization procedure, update the system based on current research and proper costing, considering the user's affordability. This paper proposes a unified application of wavelet-based Maximum Entropy on the Mean (wMEM), as a channel selection method, for classifying two motor imagery (MI) tasks using optimal electroencephalography (EEG) sources. The EEG data, which are collected from publicly available BCI Competition III, are captured from five healthy individuals. This source optimization tool has been validated with a generic BCI framework, which utilizes common spatial pattern with and without regularization as preprocessing tools. However, the best classification accuracy attained is 98% using only 11 selected channels that is close to 100% attained using available 118 channels. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can improve the condition of a diabetic patient. However, continuous monitoring of diabetes level is necessary for adapting diets and others for healthy life, which requires clinical settings or medical consultation. Thus, it becomes impractical for diabetic individuals to sustain glucose level under control all the time. This paper describes a unified prototype of m-health solution for diabetes mellitus community that is based on Arduino and Android. At the user end, a Bluetooth connected Glucometer is used to measure the glucose level, which transfer corresponding information to mobile application (App). The App is connected to a central server that facilitates access to medical services or expert consultation. Hidden information extracted from the voluminous data can provide help and remedy to handle critical healthcare situations. Chronic kidney disease is a fatal illness of kidney which can be prevented with early correct predictions and proper precautions. Data mining of the information collected from previously diagnosed patients opened up a new phase of medical advancement. However, specific techniques must be executed to accomplish better consequence. In this manuscript the capability of the classification of Support Vector Machine, Decision tree, Naïve Bayes and K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm, in analyzing the Chronic Kidney Disease dataset collected from UCI repository, was investigated to predict the presence of kidney disease. Data set has been analyzed in terms of accuracy, Root Mean Squared Error, Mean Absolute Error and Receiver Operating Characteristic curve. In the present study, Decision tree shows promising results when implemented through WEKA data mining tool.
