The aims of this study are: 1.) To describe the socio-historical of the author, 2.) To describe the influence of events in the novel on society based on social aspects, 3.) To describe the reader's response to the contents of the novel, 4. ) To describe the value of character education in the novel, 5.) Describing the relevance of novels in learning literature in high school. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative with a sociology of literature approach. The results obtained in this study are: 1.) The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel was born from a writer who tends to always choose the romance genre that is packaged with fantasy, social and cultural fiction. 2.) Readers of The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel tend to like this novel because of its strong character packaging and unpredictable plot. 3.) The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel can have a good influence on society through emerging social aspects including, Religious Aspects, Political Aspects, Leadership Aspects and Economic Aspects. 4.) The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel contains character education values according to the statement of the Ministry of National Education (2010) including honesty, religious, discipline, hard work and independence. 5.) Isnaini","doi":"10.25273/linguista.v6i1.13056","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.25273/linguista.v6i1.13056","url":null,"abstract":"This study explored the use of direct corrective feedback in the Thesis Proposal writing course where the students are expected to develop their undergraduate thesis proposal at Universitas Brawijaya and how direct corrective feedback can help the students to deal with their academic writing. The data were obtained from six students who have taken the Thesis Proposal Writing course and one lecturer who taught the course using two instruments: an interview guide and observation checklists to triangulate and ensure the validity. The result showed that: (1) direct corrective feedback was employed by the teachers to help the students to deal with their writing because direct corrective feedback was the most suitable and comprehensive feedback (2) the lecturer provided direct corrective feedback through Google Classroom and Google Documents for asynchronous meeting and Google Meet for synchronous meeting (3) Direct corrective feedback helped the students to deal with their writing since the students had high positive attitude and is preferred by the students to revise their drafts. Kekerabatan dalam istilah linguistik diartikan sebagai hubungan antara dua bahasa atau lebih yang diturunkan dari sumber yang sama . Bahasa berkerabat adalah bahasa yang memiliki hubungan antara bahasa yang satu dengan yang lain. Hubungan ini bisa jadi merupakan asal dari induk yang sama sehingga terdapat kemiripan atau karena adanya ciri-ciri umum yang samaHakikat Tingkat Kekerabatan Tingkat kekerabatan menunjukkan adanya persamaan yang jelas antara kata -kata dari berbagai bahasa/dialek yang berbeda-beda melalui pengelompokan sesuai kategori tingkat kekerabatan, karena pada hakekatnya bahasa-bahasa itu. Perkembangan bahasa anak sangat dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan bahasa pertama maupun bahasa kedua dan proses tersebut sangat berperan penting dalam berkembangnya seorang anak di dalam kehidupan sosial. Proses berbahasa pada anak memiliki pemerolehan semantik, salah satunya yakni jenis makna. Mengenai hal tersebut, tujuan pada penelitian ini yakni menganalisis perkembangan semantik anak dalam menjawab soal di dalam buku pelajarannya menggunakan teori jenis-jenis makna menurut Chaer. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian seorang anak berusia 8 tahun. Data penelitian ini yakni kalimat atau kata yang dilihat dari bagaimana cara anak menjawab soal-soal di buku pelajarannya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik catat, yakni mencatat soal beserta jawaban anak dalam buku pelajarannya dan mengelompokkan jawaban anak pada jenis-jenis makna. The researcher use three videos taken from The Late-Late Show with James Corden, those are the video entitled ‘Bill Gates Knows 'How to Avoid a Climate Disaster' , “How Did Adele Get Celine Dion's Gum from James?’and the video entitled “Jackson Wang: LMLY” . This study aims to identify and describe the types of language style and also social context in he Late-Late Show with James Corden. This study used theory of Joos (1967) to analyze the type of language style and the theory from Holmes (2013) to analyze the social context. This study used descriptive qualitative approach, and for processing the data using the theory from Miles & Huberman (1994). The result of this study that the researcher found are 114 data. Then, there are 12 or 11% of the data which is categories as formal style. There are 14 or 12% of the data which is categories as consultative style. There are 88 or 77% of the data which is categories as casual style. So, the dominant type used in The Late-Late Show with James Corden is casual style.
