To enhance their quality of life, it is crucial to identify protective factors such as religiosity and psychological immune. Therefore, this research explored the relationship between religiosity, psychological immune system, and married women’s quality of life. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach, with data collected from 207 married women aged 22-63 years who identified as Muslims using the convenience sampling method. Based on SEM Partial Least Square analysis, it was concluded that religiosity indirectly affects quality of life through psychological immune system with a t value of 4.722 (p = .000) and a total effect t value of 2.803 (p = .003). Increasing religiosity is important in improving psychological immune system to improve quality of life.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86627873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this period, students are subjected a process of self-discovery, characterized by a desire to appear more attractive and gain recognition from social environment. In such circumstances, individuals demonstrate a significant inclination to prioritize the allocation of financial resources away from meals and towards the purchase of items to amplify their attractiveness, recognition, and acceptance. This behavior is driven by the aspiration to align their ideal and actual self-image with the acquired products. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the influence of celebrity endorsement perception and self-image congruity on purchase intention. A quantitative approach was adopted with a sample of 344 students. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that celebrity endorsement perception and self-image congruity significantly influenced purchase intention, accounting for 58% of the variance.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"90 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84551208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

University student participants (M age = 21.248; SD = 1.21) were divided into cyber-ostracism scenario (n = 180) versus inclusion scenario (n = 179) groups and were required to complete the mood, four basic needs, and trait mindfulness scales. The results showed that cyber-ostracism had greater impact on the threat of the four basic needs compared to the mood of participants. Furthermore, trait mindfulness was found to predict lower threats to the needs of belonging, control, and meaningful existence, but not to self-esteem. The results also showed that the inclusion of trait mindfulness reduced the influence of cyber-ostracism on the fulfillment of control needs. These findings are expected to contribute to the understanding of the dynamics of cyber-ostracism and its emotional effects, as well as bridge the gap between the public phenomenon of cancel culture and ostracism literature.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90512466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation was conducted due to the lack of mental health services in the area and a limited understanding of the psychological factors associated with perceptions of mental health and poverty in developing countries. A qualitative phenomenological approach was used, involving 22 participants (10 males, 12 females) with various educational and occupational backgrounds. The results showed several categories, namely the concept and causes of poverty, perceptions of physical and mental health, as well as the relationship between poverty and mental health. Among these results, the most important was the public's perception of poverty and mental health as socio-cultural phenomena interrelated due to socio-cultural or mental imbalances. Furthermore, indigenous psychology was used to investigate the behavior of people living in their local communities. This was conducted to determine the use of knowledge to interact with policies and practices to reduce poverty and improve mental health status.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82290979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several studies have shown that the satisfaction of students in their relationship with lecturers is majorly influenced by family function, but there is limited data on this association.. Therefore, this study aims to examine the mediating role of positive youth development in the effect of family function on the lecturer-student relationship. A quantitative explanatory approach was used and the sample population consisted of 171 active students in the 8th to 14th semester of the undergraduate program at University X. The instruments used included the Positive Youth Development (PYD), family function, and lecturer-student relationship scales. The hypothesis was tested with the mediation analysis model 4 using the SPSS Process Hayes V.4 program. The results showed that PYD partially mediated the effect of family function on the lecturer-student relationship. Furthermore, the indirect effect of family function was only significant through the mediation of prosocial norm, belief in future, and recognition for positive behavior.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87413918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, the ability to comprehend these signs is closely tied to the cognitive process of accurately interpreting the information conveyed, with one of the key influencing factors being the representation of signs themselves. Therefore, this research aimed to examine the effect of sign types on the understanding of traffic signs, utilizing an experimental research approach that employed a between-subject, randomized multi-group design. A sample of 80 motorcyclists aged 17-25 residing in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas was involved in the research. Participants were exposed to ten unfamiliar warning signs displayed on a computer, presented in three different formats, namely symbol, text, and symbol + text. Understanding of traffic signs was measured by level of signs comprehension (accuracy). The results showed that signs types significantly affected understanding of traffic signs. Furthermore, text and symbol + text signs resulted in higher level of understanding compared to symbols. The research implied the need for textual elements in the designs of warning signs to optimize understanding of traffic signs among motorcyclists.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"65 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89752540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the development of hope concepts and interventions since the mid-1990s, there has been no specific research using video self-modeling (VSM) instruments to change an individual's aspirations. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of VSM on the hope and daily activities of Indonesian youth. An experimental method with a multiple-baseline design was employed. As many as 5 participants from Indonesia were selected based on pre-screening hope scale scores, specifically those showing low domain points about activities associated with family, romantic, social, academic, work, or leisure time. The data were analyzed using visual inspection by comparing scores before and after VSM intervention. The results showed that all participants demonstrated an increase in the frequency of activities they preferred. It was also found that VSM can indirectly impact the improvement of hope. This technology can be an effective intervention to assist young individuals in achieving goals and enhancing their hope.","PeriodicalId":32368,"journal":{"name":"Psympathic Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"158 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78065238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
