Final output enables retrieval of the actual data in real time and further and provide the rudimentary diagnosis. Initially a graph based world representation is used to build a map, prior to navigation, through an appearance based scheme using only features associated with color information. During the next step, a genetic algorithm evolves a navigation controller that the robot uses for visual servoing, driving through a set of nodes on the topological map. Experiments in simulation show that an evolved robot, adapted to both exteroceptive and proprioceptive data, is able to successfully drive through a list of sub-goals minimizing the problem of local minima in which evolutionary process can sometimes get trapped. We also show that this approach is more expressive for defining a simplistic fitness formula yet descriptive enough for targeting specific goals. With respect of vision based robot navigation, most research work is focused on four major areas: map building and interpretation; self-localization; path planning; and obstacle- avoidance. Of these four major research areas, self-localization is of key importance. The recognition of the initial position, the target position, and the current position occupied by the robot while wandering around are all bound to a self-localization process. The main two approaches used for robot localization are landmark based and appearance based techniques. In this paper, we describe a combination of a developmental method for autonomous map building and an evolutionary strategy to verify the results of the map interpretation in terms of navigation usability. Our strategy involves two discrete phases: map building and navigation phase. In the first phase an agent freely explores a pre-determined simulated terrain, collecting visual signatures corresponding to positions in the environment. After the exploration, a self-organizing algorithm builds a graph representation of the environment with nodes corresponding to known places and edges to known pathways. During the second phase, a population of robot controllers is evolved to evaluate map usability. Robots evolve to autonomously navigate from an initial position to a goal position. In order to facilitate successful translation, a shortest path algorithm is employed to extract the best path for the robot to follow. This algorithm also reveals all those intermediate positions that the robot needs to traverse in order to reach the goal position. These intermediate positions act also as sub- goals for the evolution process. II. SENSING THE ENVIRONMENT To be fully autonomous, a robot must rely on its own perceptions to localize. Perception of the world generates representation concepts, topological or geometrical, within a mental framework relating new concepts to pre-existing ones (3). Cellular automaton based simulation model is created and applied to simulation studies for driver awareness behavior. This study clarifies relations between the lane changing behavior and the scope awareness parameter that reflects driver behavior. Although many computational programs are able to approximate many cognitive abilities of Homo sapiens, the intelligence and sapience level of these programs are not even close to Homo sapiens. Rather than developing a computational system with the intelligent or sapient attribute, I propose to develop a system capable of performing functions that could deem as intelligent or sapient by Homo sapiens or others. I advocate converting current computational systems to educable systems that have built-in capabilities to learn and be taught with a universal programming language. The idea is that this attempt would help to attain computational actions in artificial means, which could be viewed as similar to human intelligent and sapient acts. Backup system for location estimation is also proposed. On behalf of GPS receivers and WiFi beacon receivers, ZigBee is used as a backup system. Attitude can be monitored with acceleration-meters equipped in the commercially available smart phones and i-phones. Also, the number of steps and calorie consumptions can be monitored with the commercially available smart phones and i-phones. By using these body attached sensors, health condition of the persons who need a help for rescue when the emergency situations can be monitored and used for rescue planning and triage. On the other hand, the increase of urban population, pollution and other negative impacts has directly affected the existing transportation system in Dar es Salaam City - Tanzania. As the transportation challenges cannot be overcome simultaneously due to the scarcity of financial resources, a decision support tool is needed to prioritize these challenges. In this study, a composite model of Vague Set Theory (VST) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to appraise the challenges. The Vague Analytical Hierarchy Process (VAHP) uses opinions of experts collected from a survey questionnaire. The computational results reveal the ranking in descending order of the urban transportation challenges as poor traffic management, inadequacy of proper public transit service and inadequacy of road transport infrastructure. The proposed measure shows 0.178 of R square which corresponds to mutual correlation between internal fat and the volume of multifidus muscle. Estimation of protein content in rice crop and total nitrogen content in rice leaves through regression analysis with Normalized Difference Vegetation Index: NDVI derived from camera mounted radio-controlled helicopter is already proposed. Through experiments at rice paddy fields which is situated at Saga Prefectural Research Institute of Agriculture: SPRIA in Saga city, Japan, it is found that total nitrogen content in rice leaves is linearly proportional to fertilizer amount and NDVI. Reliability of the various calibration data has to be improved. In order to improve the reliability of the vicarious calibration data, some screenings have to be made. Through experimental study, it is found that vicarious calibration data screening would be better to apply with the measured atmospheric optical depth and variance of the measured surface reflectance due to the facts that thick atmospheric optical depth means that the atmosphere contains serious pollution sometime and that large deviation of the surface reflectance from the average means that the solar irradiance has an influence due to cirrus type of clouds. As the results of the screening, the uncertainty of vicarious calibration data from the approximated radiometric calibration coefficient is remarkably improved.
