To implement FFT in hardware, fixed point arithmetic is preferred as it is simple to execute and also saves area and power. The finite bit representation of signals and coefficients in fixed point result in quantization error which degrades FFT performance mainly Signal to Quantization Noise Ratio (SQNR). In this paper, SQNR improvement in fixed-point FFT is achieved by modifying Radix-2 Decimation In Time (DIT) conventional butterfly structure.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126473656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are number of approaches for predicting this weather based on atmospheric data collected by various means. Our work focuses on use of data mining techniques for predicting rainfall of an area on basis of some dependent features like precipitation and wet day frequency. Instead of taking current data we are focusing on the data collected till date by the meteorological department. We are investigating a data mining technique using linear regression model on the data collected for wet day frequency, precipitation and rainfall for the years ranging from 1901 to 2002 of Bangalore, India. The regression model developed has been trained and validated against the actual rainfall of that area, which further was used to predict the rainfall in coming years. The performance of the algorithm was further boosted using Ensembles technique using K fold.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134127824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It examines the need of NoSQL and how they have become an important alternative to relational databases. NoSQL databases can be categorized into four major classifications which are: key value stores, graph databases, wide column stores, and document stores. These categories are compared on the basis of functional features and non-functional features. The non-functional features include performance, scalability, flexibility, structure and complexity. The functional features include de-normalization, joins, atomicity, aggregation and keys. Then for further analysis, one database is selected from each of these categories that is, MongoDB (document stores), Cassandra (wide column stores), Redis (key value stores), and Neo4j (graph databases). Selected databases are compared on their data model, CAP theorem, distributive properties and other factors. By performing the comparison on non-functional features, it has been found that a document store can be used if high performance, flexibility and scalability are required and if we have represented the data in JSON format. Column store can be used for semi structured data which requires high performance and scalability. Redis is anin-memory store and performs exceptionally fast in the case of single shard operation. Graph databases can be used when it comes to highly interconnected data and continuously evolving data models. The comparison between MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis and Neo4j concluded that all of them follow horizontal scaling and are schema free. Except Neo4j, others don't have complete ACID properties. Write and delete operations are fast for databases MongoDB, Redis and Cassandra, whereas read operation is comparatively slow in Cassandra. In case of Neo4j, REST performance is similar to MongoDB, whereas embedded is comparatively slow. We also discuss how these databases work in a distributed environment.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125705158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has increased the requirement of such a recommendation system which intelligently satisfies needs of a huge user base. The intelligent collaborative recommendation system proposed in this paper analyzes web logs using web usage mining techniques. It provides such an interface to the existing users where they set their preferences for personalized and collaborative recommendations. Experience of previous users is a cornerstone for recommending default set of pages to naïve users. The use of efficient data structure trie performs dual functionality. This clusters the similar users together which saves the efforts of applying a separate approach for categorizing users. In addition, it conveniently recommends the desired pages to the user. This system dynamically changes the support value of a pattern. This automates the promotion and demotion of a pattern to a group. The hashing technique efficiently finds pages of user interest, in the trie in O(1) time complexity.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132322319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numerous hardware implementations of ANNs already exist, the aim was to come up with an approach that would facilitate digital logic design implementations using floating point data for better precision described by Verilog HDL. The first challenge undertook was implementing the logic using floating point arithmetic which gives high precision at the cost of computation complexity and the second challenge was the hardware descriptive language used for implementation i.e. Verilog which has no prior available floating point arithmetic libraries unlike VHDL. This paper aims at implementing a generic hardware based ANN (MLPN) designed in Verilog HDL. This three-layer ANN is implemented completely with 32-bit single precision floating point arithmetic to assure flexibility and accuracy for its wide range of applications. The ANN enables reconfigurable perceptron per layer alongwith supervised learning through back propagation.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114294955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally sharding is the main fundamental favorable circumstances of NoSQL database. Various companies are moving towards NoSQL databases. NoSQL databases can store unstructured data such as email, multimedia, documents, and social media with high performance. NoSQL document stored database, MongoDB has many security risks which can be overcome by a good secure cryptographic system. In this paper, we will use symmetric cryptographic techniques for providing the security (confidentiality) of unstructured data in NoSQL document stored MongoDB. DES, AES, and blowfish algorithms with random key generation are used to encrypt/decrypt the document data before storing/retrieving to/from the NoSQL MongoDB database. We have also provided the comparative analysis of execution time taken by each algorithm with MongoDB for different size of data. There arises a problem that the storage size taken by the encrypted data in MongoDB database is more as compared to the original data. To solve this problem, we used a zlib compression technique to reduce the storage size taken by the encrypted data and provide comparative results.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124291726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore search engine efficiency has major challenges in respect of user query handling issues. And now-a-days contextual similarity of query words is gaining more significance irrespective of keyword-based method. Proposed work is a step towards it. Here focusing area is contextual relatedness of synonyms of particular word with respect to same context as with target word given in user query. Hence, gives rise to Specific-Synonym searching than Generic-Synonym searching. Specifically, it combines Page Count-Based Co-occurrence measures with Sliding Window concept (context based similarity measure) to calculate Contextual Similar Synonym Database that helps in indexing of documents to improve searching. Hence, improve efficiency of search engine to handle user query by reducing irrelevant results to user.","PeriodicalId":322178,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies for Smart Nation (IC3TSN)","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129327640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
