In the game, each player has their own cost function that must be minimized while competing for the control input, characterized by strategies of players. The controller design problem is formulated as a multiobjective optimization problem constrained by linear matrix inequalities. A novel stochastic algorithm using differential evolution mechanisms is proposed to solve the problem so that a set of Pareto optimal strategies can be obtained. In contrast with existing studies on differential games, this paper considers external disturbances involved in the game and a systematic approach to searching for Pareto optimal solutions.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125332543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A general approach for static compensation is proposed first connecting the compensator gain selection and the LQ performance index. We then extend existing results for state feedback to output feedback and obtain a new set of gain equations for the controller and the compensator that satisfies optimality conditions. A solution algorithm to solve the resulting governing equations is also presented in the paper. Finally numerical examples are provided to validate the new approach.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125228265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper focuses on the realization of the SURF algorithm upon a small FPGA-based platform for objects recognition in real-time. By following the hardware and software co-design concept the entire system is implemented and embedded in the FPGA of a SoPC. The hardware part of the system includes image processing circuits and peripheral circuits. The image processing circuits include RGB to gray transformation circuit and image integral circuit. Peripheral circuits include Laplacian of Gaussian filters circuit and NiosII process circuit. In software part, it includes SURF related operations such as: interest point descriptor, interest point matching, and the software for the system control. It has experimentally been proven that the resulting system satisfies the design goals of objects recognition, rotation-invariant, and scale-invariant. But, in the resulting system, there are only several modules realized in hardware because of the hardware resource limitation of the FPGA chip, causing the recognition speed cannot have very much improvement.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120937790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The question to be discussed in this paper is how to assess the effects of failures of the diagnostic facilities themselves. In order to investigate this effect, we propose to consider a state-transition representation of the system, as reliability block diagrams are not well suited to reflect the changing properties when faults occur and affect the diagnostic capabilities of the system. We also discuss the role of common causes leading to the simultaneous failure of the control system and its diagnosis and their mathematical representation.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"60 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117222867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An adaptive time delay fuzzy logic system is used to approximate the unknown time delay system functions, in the meantime proportional integral (PI) sliding mode controller is designed to attenuate chattering problem resulting from the fast and large external disturbance. Based on the Lyapunov theory of stability, the free parameters of the adaptive fuzzy controller and PI controller coefficients can be tuned on-line by output feedback adaptive laws which are derived from tracking and approximation errors. The simulation results show that not only the chattering phenomena can be attenuated but also the prescribed tracking performance can be preserved by the advocated control scheme.","PeriodicalId":322035,"journal":{"name":"2014 CACS International Automatic Control Conference (CACS 2014)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134150359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
