Engineers and scientists mainly use Design of Experiment to understand the effects of the observed factors. In specific cases, these experiments require increased calculation power, due to the rise of the measured records and factors. The results are often questioned, because interpreting them requires an expert in any topic. This study aims to determine, if there is a faster, more cost effective alternative method, with lower need of calculation power, within the same complexity of a model. In this context, the Full Factorial Design of Experiment method was compared with the Secondary Substitution Transfer Equation practice. The results showed many differences between the two methods, reflecting the accuracy of the prediction, the calculation power need, the file size, ease of use, and last, but not least, the file sizes. These results suggest that, the Secondary Substitution Transfer Equation method is a comparative alternative, especially in complex cases, where the observed factors do not behave linearly. It also requests less resource, which can make this practice an easy to use and cost effective way in the experiments.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131936935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach is based on a current activation function in Deep Learning, a very intensive field studied over time, in order to find the most suitable activation in a neural network. In order to achieve this purpose, we used an LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) Autoencoder architecture, using these two novel functions to see the network’s behavior through introducing them. The key point in our proposal is given by the learnable parameter, assuring more flexibility within the network in weights’ updates, in fact, this property being more powerful than a predefined parameter that will bring a constraint due to its limit. We tested our proposal in comparison to other popular functions such as ReLU (Linear Rectifier Unit), hyperbolic tangent (tanh), Talu activation function. Also, the novelty of this paper consists of taking into consideration of piecewise behavior of an activation function in order to increase the performance of a neural network in Deep Learning.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126790039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are subject to continuous fluctuations. Fluctuations in production are provoked internally as well as externally. They are the cause of planned and unplanned events. The result of fluctuations are deviations between planned and actual data. In addition, fluctuations in production reduce system performance. In order to be able to control fluctuations, information about them must be available. Currently, such information is insufficient or missing. One reason may be the limited availability of data to date. New technologies in the age of digital transformation are opening up opportunities to solve this problem. The technologies provide tools that reveal enormous potential for the collection, processing and provision of data. The goal of the research project presented here is to demonstrate an approach for automated identification, measurement and quantification of variability in production systems. The first step of the implementation is the creation of a theoretical model for generic application.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114056367","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the modelling phase, it is necessary to predict undesired distortions. There are several finite-element based simulation tools for this purpose, but these are costly and resource-intensive. This paper presents a novel approach based on several Machine Learning methods (decision trees, random forest, gradient boosted trees, support vector machines, deep learning) to speed-up this process. The results show that it is possible to give accurate predictions with these methods.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114889455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of our paper is to present the SapiMouse dataset that can be used for training and evaluation of both user authentication and bot detection systems. In this paper we present the tools and protocols used for data collection, as well as the exploratory analysis of this new dataset. In addition, we also present user authentication results on this new dataset. Instead of using handcrafted features, our system learns the features directly from raw data using a convolutional neural network. The performance of our system is 0.94 AUC for 15 seconds of data.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117129465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With more and more organizations embracing DevOps culture, there is a persistent need to understand how these systems are built and what their trade-offs are. This paper discusses and benchmarks the components of a modern fault tolerant and easily scalable system, designed to maximize up-time. The paper also describes the techniques used in the development of such a system. The system architecture described is implemented through several services deployed for a new critical single sign-on system deployed at CERN (The European Laboratory for Particle Physics). A case study of several critical components of the system is also performed, identifying several trade-offs, issues and future research directions.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125497217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fingerprint identification in images is mainly treated and a VisualGeometryGroup-16 architecture integrated in a Siamese network is used. The Siamese network uses two metrics to determine the similarity between two input images, each metric having a certain experimentally determined threshold. The datasets for training, validation and testing were taken from three sources to increase diversity and contain synthetic changes with different levels of alteration. They are processed in such a manner that they can be received as input for the network. This study aims to establish whether using neural networks is reliable for a biometric security system.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"10 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116393217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prevalence of the disease is estimated as high as 25% of the general population up to 90% of obese and diabetic patients. Most patients are asymptomatic or does not experience specific complaints making them difficult to diagnose and treat. However, due to the limitations of available diagnostic procedures and the current gold standard for diagnosis, the liver biopsy, there is a worldwide demand to develop a non-invasive diagnostic tool and procedure that can detect the disease with high accuracy at an early reversible stage, furthermore is cost-effective, user-friendly, and provides repeatable measurement. Based on the metrological experience of our research team, we started developing an electrical impedance-based diagnostic procedure a few years ago that meets these requirements and is suitable for early detection of NAFLD with the help of a world-new measurement and data collection solution. In this article, we present the most important milestones in the development of instruments related to research.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126398628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To approach the presented topic, image processing algorithms, image filtering, together with the Matlab work environment were combined and the optimal solution was finally implemented. The main idea behind the method is to identify two types of lines of the CT image which gives to the specialist the correct diagnostic by interpreting the obtained results. As final results, the chosen solution incorporates some crucial steps which have to be done in order to obtain the desired processed image with all the important details visible. The final solution was tested on different CT images and the medical specialist used it for detecting this type of disease, the detection being very easily mistaken.","PeriodicalId":321907,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126146882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
