Typically, the shelf life of cherry tomatoes only ranges from 5 to 7 days at room temperature. The aim of this research is to determine the best concentration of NaCl and immersion duration, as well as the interaction between the two on the quality of cherry tomatoes. This study utilized a 3x3 factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The research results demonstrate that the concentration of NaCl has a highly significant effect on the organoleptic attributes of texture and aroma of cherry tomatoes and also significantly affects the color parameter b (yellow) and overall organoleptic acceptance. The optimal concentration was obtained at 9% NaCl. The duration of immersion did not significantly affect all observation parameters; a longer immersion time was generally observed at 25 minutes. There is a highly significant interaction between the concentration of NaCl and immersion duration on the organoleptic texture and a significant interaction between the concentration of NaCl and immersion duration on the organoleptic aroma. Good quality cherry tomatoes are found in the combination of the treatment with 9% NaCl concentration and 25 minutes of immersion duration.","PeriodicalId":32168,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Teknologi Pertanian Andalas","volume":"19-20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139282901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The parameters used are rainfall, slope, land use, soil texture, and soil pH. All parameters are grouped into one attribute by overlaying them using the ArcGIS application, and then matching is carried out with the conditions for growing cassava plants for land suitability and continues with scoring. The analysis continues by determining the Growing Degree Days (GDD) value at each observation point for each planting time scenario which is processed using temperature data. The planting time scenarios used in this research were 12 planting time scenarios. The research results show that West Sumatra Province has potential land for developing cassava plants based on GDD, namely land in the very suitable class (S1) covering an area of 766,906.03 ha and in the suitable class (S2) with a land area of 1,333,092.87 ha. The optimal planting time for cassava plants based on the GDD value for the West Sumatra region is in October. The Regencies of Limapuluh Kota, Pasaman, West Pasaman, Pesisir Selatan, and South Solok have a high potential for developing cassava plants because these areas have suitable (very suitable) S1 and suitable (S2) large areas (> 200.000 ha), and the regional GDD value is the GDD value for cassava.","PeriodicalId":32168,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Teknologi Pertanian Andalas","volume":"65 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139282622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Diversified forms of robusta coffee products include of jelly candy. Jelly candy that are soft and sweet in texture and favored by all circles of society can be used as an alternative snack for people with diabetes mellitus (DM). However, the sweet taste of sugar (sucrose) can aggravate sufferers so that a safe substitute sweetener is needed for health, namely stevia. Stevia is a sweetener recommended for diabetics because it has low calories and does not provide side effects. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the manufacture of robusta coffee jelly candy with the right and appropriate formulation as an alternative snack for DM sufferers. The research method carried out is experimental in the laboratory with variations in stevia and sucrose treatments (3:0, 2:1, 1:2, and 0:3) which will be repeated 3 times. The results of the study on organoleptic tests showed a difference in the level of panelists' liking for color and taste and there was no difference in the level of panelists' liking for the aroma and texture of Robusta coffee jelly candy. In addition, overall there was a significant difference in the level of panelists' liking for Robusta coffee jelly candy. Based on the texture test and sugar content, the highest results were obtained in the ratio of stevia and sucrose extract concentrations (0: 3), namely 60.60 g and 17.46% respectively.","PeriodicalId":32168,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Teknologi Pertanian Andalas","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139282770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
