Participated in the study 451 teachers from northern Portugal being 317 females (71.1%). The ages ranged between 28 and 67 years (M = 46.88, SD = 7.80). The evaluation protocol included a demographic questionnaire, the Cognitive Appraisal Scale, the Stress Questionnaire for High School Teachers, and the Shirom-Melamed Burnout Measure. The results showed that 55.1% of the teachers perceived significant to high levels of stress at work, and physical fatigue was the most frequent symptom of burnout. It was also found that cognitive appraisal partially mediates the relation between stress and burnout. This study has as an objective to analyze national and international literature on this technique efficacy in the anxiety and anxiety disorder treatment. A literature review of articles published between 2003 and 2014 of the main national and international databases was done. Fourteen articles systematized into three categories were found: used instruments, correlated brain areas and neurofeedback session average. Neurofeedback use positive evaluation and its efficacy were evidenced. Gurgel Cosme do Nascimento","doi":"10.15309/18psd190216","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15309/18psd190216","url":null,"abstract":"The objective of this study is to unveil the meanings of death and dying experienced by 10 teachers and 22 students of the Nursing Course of the State University of Rio Grande do Norte. This is a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Four thematic areas of this study emerged, being: Sensations and Feelings when experiencing the process of Death and Dying; The experiences of nursing teaching practices before death and dying; Faith and literature as support found to deal with situations of death and dying; and Nursing training and preparation for experiencing death and dying.
