Its main advantage in comparison with the complicated Lyapunov function based techniques is that its fundament is some simple geometric consideration allowing to formulate the control task as a Fixed Point Problem for the solution of which various Contractive Mappings can be created that generate Iterative Cauchy Sequences for Single Input - Single Output (SISO) systems. These sequences can converge to the fixed points that are the solutions of the control tasks. Recently alternative potential solutions were proposed and sketched by the use of special functions built up of the \"response function\" of the excited system under control. These functions have almost constant values apart from a finite region in which they have a \"wrinkle\" in the vicinity of the desired solution that is the \"proper\" fixed point of these functions. It was shown that at one of their sides these fixed points were repulsive, while at the opposite side they were attractive. It was shown, too, that at the repulsive side another, so called \"false\" fixed points were present that were globally attractive, with the exception of the basins of attraction of the \"proper\" ones. This structure seemed to be advantageous because no divergences could occur in the iterations, the convergence to the \"false\" values could easily be detected, and by using some ancillary tricks in the most of the cases the solutions could be kicked from the wrong fixed points into the basins of attraction of the \"proper ones\". It was expected that via adding simple rules to the application of these transformations good adaptive control can be developed. However, due to certain specialties of these functions practical problems arose. In the present paper novel transformations are presented that seem to evade these difficulties. Their applicability is illustrated via simulations in the ad","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"61 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133037898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a designed and implemented care system for health diagnosis based on GPS location in the hospital. The designed handheld care system is implemented using an embedded Visual C++4.0 and Pocket PC2003 software development kit (SDK) in an 802.11 wireless network. We are confident that the research provides sufficient proof of the usefulness of this ubiquitous health system for the collection of care management information. The proposed system consists of a care management module for health diagnosis, a personal record module, a data transport module, and an image information management module for the clinic. System uses an applied security mechanism for critical data, and is accessed and controlled according to the GPS locations in the hospital. Also, for emergency status, transmission functions of clinic information are implemented using a wireless LAN protocol environment.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130481911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experimental results achieved on vibration signals collected by an accelerometer on an experimental test rig show that the method can automatically detect different types of faults. Furthermore, the method is able, once trained on an appropriate representative set of basic faults, to recognize more serious faults, provided they are of the same type. We also analyzed the trend of correct classification of bearing faults on variation of the signal-to-noise ratio achieving high levels of robustness.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127625488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many of them have limitations from the direct application point of view, for example they can be applied only in one dimensional case, or defined based on the two closest surrounding rules of the actual observation. Additionally the FRI methods can dramatically simplify the building of fuzzy rule bases by enabling the application of sparse rule bases. FRI methods can provide reasonable (interpolated) conclusions even if none of the existing rules fires under the current observation. These methods can help the expert to concentrate on the cardinal actions only. Compared to the classical fuzzy CRI, by omitting the derivable rules, the number of the fuzzy rules needed to be handled during the design process could be dramatically reduced. This paper provides a brief overview of several FRI methods and in more detailed an application oriented simple and quick FRI method FIVE will be introduced. For the demonstration of the benefits of the interpolation-based fuzzy reasoning as systematic approach, a robot navigation application is presented, where the robot is able to cycle through waypoints while avoiding collision with obstacles and walls. All the controlling parts were accomplished with fuzzy rule bases of the FIVE FRI method.","PeriodicalId":320146,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115494953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
