Kidney failure, stroke, heart attack, leg amputation, and nerve damage are complications of diabetes caused by diabetes patients predictors of referral. Purpose: The study aims to describe diabetes complications as diabetes patients predictors of referral. Methods: The study design was used cross-sectional method. The population study is the participant with diabetes who have been treated in Public Health Care of Cangkringan from January 2018th until January 2019th. Samples were collected from total sampling who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria as complete medical records. The total sample was 414. Data of gender and age were collected from the medical record. Data of place was collected from GPS. Data of blood glucose level, complications and referral were collected from the medical record. Statistic test using chi-square and regression logistic. Results: Most diabetes patients were female, age > 55 years, diagnosis state long, distance ≤ 5 kilometres, no insulin-dependent, no complication, and no referral. Sex no significant differences PR = 0.91 (95% CI; 0.68-1.21), Age no significant different PR = 1.16 (95% CI; 0.88-1.51). Insulin significant different PR = 3.93 (95% CI: 3.17-4.88). Complication significant different PR = 3.53 (95% CI; 2.92-4.26). The main contributing to diabetes referral is a complication (β = 4.25; PR 71.20). Epidemiological data of COVID-19 in Indonesia, especially in Surabaya have not been well established yet. Purpose: This study aims to provide the COVID-19 patients profile in Surabaya City, Indonesia. Method: The study data were retrospectively collected from electrical medical records in Primasatya Husada Citra (PHC) Hospital of Surabaya, one of the referral hospitals for COVID-19 in Surabaya. Descriptive and Spearman correlation statistics were done for data analysis. Results: Between 1 July – 31 August 2020, 456 subjects were diagnosed positive for COVID-19 by real-time polymerase chain reaction and enrolled in the study. Study subjects were dominated by the group age of 21-30 (26.75%), male (60.30%), living in East Surabaya (16.22%), and mild to moderate disease severity (47.59%) according to the patient’s clinical manifestation, respiration rate, and peripheral oxygen saturation. Subjects with symptoms were majorly having cough (37.93%), fever (29.38%), malaise (28.07%), and dyspnoea (25.00%). Positive correlation was found between disease severity and group of age (r=0.35; p=0.01), gender (r = 0.13; p=0.01), comorbidities (diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease), and X-ray findings (r=0.14; p=0.02). A negative correlation was found between disease severity and the region of domicile (r=-0.15; p=0.01). Conclusion: This epidemiological data of COVID-19 patients in Surabaya city, Indonesia, may help in diagnosing COVID-19 patients and improving health management strategies during a pandemic. One of the regions of Indonesia with the most cases is East Java Province which has reached more than 46,984 confirmed cases. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze self-awareness and the amount of risk in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of the people of East Java Province with compliance with the COVID-19 health protocol after the adaptation of new habits. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design. This study was conducted with inclusion criteria in people who live in East Java Province, have a productive age of female (15-49 years) and male (15-59 years), and are willing to be respondents in the study. Exactly 285 respondents participated in the study. This study measure demographics, knowledge, attitude, perception, and practice of health protocols variables. We used a questionnaire to collect data via a google form. The data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between attitudes and perceptions about COVID-19 on compliance with the COVID-19 Health protocol (p-value = 0.01), and there was no relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.58), age (p-value = 0.66), sex (p-value = 0.61), and education (p-value = 0.23) with compliance with the COVID-19 Health protocol. Conclusion: Respondents' compliance with the COVID-19 health protocol is still low. In 2017, it was reported that scabies was among the 15 most common types of skin infections in Sumenep District, which reported 12,229 cases of scabies. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the perception of individual susceptibility and barriers to treatment action in scabies patients at the Nasy’atul Muta’alimin Islamic Boarding School, Sumenep District, East Java. Methods: This research was an observational analytic study using a case-control design. The study population was patients with scabies in Nasy’atul Mutaalimin Islamic Boarding School, Sumenep District, East Java. The sample size was 70 people, consisting of 35 scabies patients who did not seek treatment as a case group and 35 scabies patients who did seek treatment as a control group. The sampling method used was simple random sampling. The two independent variables studied were the perception of individual susceptibility and barriers to treatment, while the dependent variable was treatment measures. The data analysis techniques employed were univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: This study shows that there are variables that have a relationship (p < 0.05) with the perception of individual susceptibility (OR = 99.00 95% CI 17.85 < OR < 548.86) and perceived barriers (OR = 29.00 95%, CI 7.968 < OR < 105.55). The resulting impact will be greatly influenced by the role of parents, family and the environment. Purpose: This study aims to understand what education can be provided to parents of children with gadget addiction, along with how parents can choose toys and alternative games for children to reduce this gadget addiction. Methods: The design used in this article was a narrative review that involved collecting and analyzing journals using the keywords \"addiction\", \"children\", \"education\", \"parent\" and \"gadget\"; this obtained 10 journal articles from PubMed, two journal articles from ScienceDirect, 14 journal articles from Google Scholar published between 2015–2020, three books, and one collection of survey data from the web. Results: There were several strategies that could be applied in managing the use of gadgets by children. The authoritative type of parenting style, good parent-child relationships, parent-child attachment and family environment conditions could also affect the use of gadgets and its impact on children. Parents could additionally provide toys and alternative games suitable for the children’s age, developmental ability and safety needs. Half of the ten highest-priority villages for national stunting interventions in the Lamongan District are located in Glagah Sub-district. Purpose: This study aimed to identify the determinants of stunting in children aged 6 to 59 months in the Muslim population in the Glagah Sub-district, Lamongan District, 2019. Methods: The design of this study was an analytic observational case-control. The population was mothers with children aged 6 to 59 months in Glagah Sub-district. The samples comprised 44 cases and 88 controls. They were paired with matching variables, including gender and clean water sources. Cluster sampling techniques and probability proportional to the size sampling method were utilized to calculate the sample size for each cluster. Data collection was carried out using a modified research questionnaire. Research was carried out in June–July 2019. Bivariate analysis was performed with chi-square and independent t-tests at the significance level α= 0.05. Results: The factors found to be related to stunting were bodyweight at birth (p-value 0.01; eta2 0.09), protein intake (p-value 0.01; eta2 0.12), energy intake (p-value 0.01; eta2 0.19), maternal height (p-value 0.01; eta2 0,08), and parenting pattern (p-value 0.03; ORpermissive 3.33, ORmoderate 1.69). Conclusion: Determinants associated with stunting were bodyweight at birth, protein and energy intake, maternal height, and parenting pattern. Geographic factors play an important role in determining prevalence, showing high rates of prevalence in warm and humid environments. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the macroscopic and microscopic identification of different types of dermatophytes present on stray dogs. Methods: The design of this study was laboratory-based research. Each sample was collected from an infection site (nail, hair, or skin) that was identified by conducting a physical examination of a stray dog that was infected with fungi. The skin scraping, nail clipping, and fur cutting samples were collected from infected dogs and then cultured on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA). The cultures were incubated at 26°C for five weeks. The isolates of fungi were then examined macroscopically and microscopically. The Lactophenol Cotton Blue (LPCB) staining technique was used for fungi morphology identification. Results: Overall, the most common type of dermatophytes that affected the dogs were Trichophyton spp. (64.70%), Aspergillus spp. (10.10%), Microsporum spp. (7.20%), and Curvularia spp. (5.60%). Opportunistic infections are one of the causes of morbidity and mortality in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and AIDS in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aimed to describe the characteristics and opportunistic infections of AIDS patients in East Java Province, 2018. Methods: This study was conducted as observational descriptive research, and a survey was used as the research design. The research location was in East Java Provincial Health Office, and the study was carried out in August 2019. We used secondary data taken from the results of surveillance of AIDS patients in 2018. The sampling method of the study was total sampling, with 1,138 AIDS patients. The variables studied included the patients’ characteristics (sex, age, type of work, and risk factors) as well as the number and types of opportunistic infections. Results: The majority of the AIDS patients in East Java in this sample were male (70.74%), belonged to the adults (26–45 years old) group (62.65%), and worked as employees/laborers (46.08%). In terms of sexual orientation, the majority were heterosexuals (81.81%) or homosexuals (10.63%). The majority of patients experienced one type of opportunistic infection (46.08%), with histoplasmosis (48.77%) and tuberculosis (TB) (42.62%) as the most frequently experienced opportunistic infections. Conclusion: Characteristics that are risk factors for contracting AIDS in East Java include being male, being of adult age, working as an employee/laborer, and being heterosexual. Women are particularly susceptible to developing PTSD, as they have a range of threat perceptions. Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of PTSD on women survivor of the earthquake in the Sigi Biromaru sub-district of Central Sulawesi. Methods: This was a descriptive study conducted using a cross-sectional design. The population for this study were housewives who have been displaced by the earthquake and are currently residing in temporary shelters (Huntara) in a village located in the Sigi Biromaru sub-district. The instrument used in this study was the PTSD measurement questionnaire sheet. It was conducted from March to April 2020 and included a total of 115 participants. Univariate analysis was used to determine the respondents’ characteristics, including their age, education, occupation, income, and a description of the PTSD condition. Results: The results show that the majority of respondents experienced severe PTSD (70.43%). Most of the respondents (35.65%) were between the ages of 37 and 46, were senior high school graduates (40%), were unemployed (74%), and had earnings of < 2,500,000 (85.22%). Three variables that affect PTSD are education with a p-value of 0.03 < 0.05, job/occupation with a p-value of 0.02 < 0.05, and income with a p-value of 0.03 < 0.05. Dermatophytosis can be endemic in cats, particularly in poor environments, and it is difficult to eradicate in such cases. Purpose: The aim of this research was to determine the macroscopic and microscopic identification of various types of dermatophytes present in stray cats. Methods: The research was designed as a laboratory-based study. The sample was determined through physical examination of stray cats infected with fungi and was selected based on the infection site (nail, hair, and skin) of infected cats. A total of 125 samples were collected from infected stray cats through skin scraping, haircutting, and nail clipping. The collected samples were then cultured in Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) medium and incubated for two weeks at 26°C. Following incubation, fungi were stained using Lacto-phenol Cotton Blue (LPCB) for microscopic identification. Results: The identification showed that Trichophyton spp. is the most common isolated fungal species on the hair, nails, and skin of stray cats. This is followed by Aspergillus spp. and Microsporum spp. The least common dermatophytes include Curvularia spp., Absidia spp., Epidermophyton spp., Neosytallidium spp., Alternaria spp., Scopulariopsis spp., Mucor spp., and Penicillium spp. Conclusion: The research focussed exclusively on stray cats with clinical evidence of mycotic lesions and confirmed the role of stray cats in transmitting dermatophytosis through their hair, nails, and skin.
