The study, therefore, is aimed at eliciting Indonesian EFL learners’ beliefs about the advantages of using songs for their language learning. Researching the research phenomenon through a qualitative study using a case study design, in-depth interview technique was applied to collect the data of the learners’ beliefs from eleven university learners majoring English. This study indicated an interesting finding that it was perceived that the learners believed that there were some advantages of using songs in learning English: increasing their EFL learning in the aspects of language skills (listening and speaking), language components (vocabulary mastery and pronunciation), their knowledge, their confidence and relaxation, and improving their mood and focus. Thus, it is recommended that songs be used either in teachers’ EFL teaching and in learners’ EFL learning. Abstrak: Meskipun telah banyak penelitian yang dilakukan, namun masih sedikit perhatian yang diberikan tentang manfaat penggunaan lagu dalam pembelajaran (berpusat pada peserta didik). Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap keyakinan pembelajar Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing di Indonesia tentang manfaat penggunaan lagu dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing mereka. Meneliti fenomena melalui studi kasus, teknik wawancara mendalam diterapkan untuk mengumpulkan data tentang keyakinan sebelas mahasiswa jurusan Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ii menunjukkan temuan yang menarik bahwa peserta didik percaya bahwa ada beberapa keuntungan dari pemanfaatan lagu dalam pembelajaran bahasa Ingris mereka pada aspek keterampilan bahasa (menyimak dan berbicara), komponen bahasa (penguasaan kosa kata dan pengucapan), pengetahuan mereka, kepercayaan diri dan relaksasi mereka, serta memperbaiki suasana hati dan fokus mereka. The present study aims to analyze how COVID 19 pandemic can affect the differences in demotivation factors of a group of EFL learners. Therefore, a set of questionnaires were distributed before and during COVID19 pandemic. In addition, semi-structured interviews were conducted to gain deeper insights on the matter. The results suggest significant differences in demotivational factors that affect the respondents before and after COVID19 pandemic. Before the pandemic, inadequate school facilities were the most demotivating factor. After the pandemic, test scores become the most demotivating factor among the respondents. However, teachers’' related factors and learning materials still relatively affect the respondents after the pandemic. Besides, online learning was found to be one of the demotivational factors among the respondents as they feel deprived from real life inter-action and burdened with lack of stable internet connection and suitable gadgets for online learning. The results suggest that changing the learning environment can affect learners’ demotivation and motivation. Thus, it seems imperative for the teachers to be able to adapt their approach and materials to suit changing conditions especially during the pandemicAbstrak: Perubahan lingkungan belajar yang terjadi pasca pandemi COVID 19 dapat menyebabkan penurunan motivasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pandemi COVID 19 dapat mempengaruhi perbedaan faktor demotivasi pada kelompok peserta didik EFL. Oleh karena itu, serangkaian kuesioner dibagikan sebelum dan selama pandemi COVID19. Selain itu, wawancara semi-terstruktur dilakukan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang masalah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada faktor demotivasi yang mempengaruhi responden sebelum dan sesudah pandemi COVID19. Sebelum pandemi, fasilitas sekolah yang tidak memadai merupakan faktor yang paling menurunkan motivasi. Setelah pandemi, skor tes menjadi faktor yang paling mendemotivasi responden. Namun, faktor guru dan materi pembelajaran masih relatif mempengaruhi responden setelah pandemi. Selain itu, pembelajaran online ditemukan sebagai salah satu faktor demotivasi di kalangan responden karena mereka merasa kehilangan interaksi di kehidupan nyata dan dibebani dengan kurangnya koneksi internet yang stabil dan gadget yang sesuai untuk pembelajaran online. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mengubah lingkungan belajar dapat mempengaruhi motivasi dan motivasi peserta didik. This research intends to examine how the combination of schools and pesantren which is manifested in the form of an Islamic school with boarding system is managed and how the curriculum is implemented in this combination system. This research is a qualitative research that focuses on a comparative study between SMAIT Ihsanul Fikri Boarding School and SMAI Al Azhar Boarding School. The research data were collected using interview, observation and documentation techniques. By using descriptive analysis, the results of this study indicate that 1) The management pattern of islamic school with boarding systems in the two educational institutions shows differences, especially in the structural position of the person in charge of boarding schools as an element of boarding school institutions; 2) Curriculum implementation as a consequence of a combination of two systems in islamic school with boarding system is also different, one of which is more on systemic integration while the other is more on organic integration. Abstrak: Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, banyak sekolah-sekolah Islam yang mulai berinovasi dengan menawarkan komponen asrama dalam sistem pendidikannya. Penelitian ini hendak mengkaji bagaimana kombinasi sekolah dan pesantren yang termanifestasikan dalam bentuk sekolah berasrasma dikelola serta bagaimana penyelenggaraan kurikulum di dalam sistem kombinasi tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang berfokus pada studi komparasi antara SMAIT Ihsanul Fikri Boarding School dan SMAI Al Azhar Boarding School. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. This was the basis for the researchers to evaluate the program especially in MAN 1 and MAN 2 Yogyakarta. This evaluation research used an objective-oriented approach to measure the objective level of achievement program and used mixed methods with a concurrent embedded model. The CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, and Outcome) evaluation model was used to analyze the program. The researcher used purposive sampling and snowballing sampling techniques in determining the subjects. The results show that overall the Madrasa Tahfidz program was quite effective because input, process, and outcomes of evaluated CIPPO components were optimally fulfilled. It is produce recommendations for revising the program, because there are still 2 components cannot be assessed as effective and still need continuous improvement. Context has not been effective because student need components are more needed in improving of reading Quran rather than memorizing. The product of program is not yet effective because referring to three measuring instruments that produce an average measurement result at a moderate level with a percentage (46.6%), either by sex, origin of madrasa and class of students, and haven’t reached a high level. Abstrak: Implementasi program Madrasah Tahfidz Kementerian Agama DIY belum merata antara satu madrasah dan lainnya. Hal inilah yang menjadi dasar bagi peneliti untuk mengevaluasi program tersebut terutama di MAN 1 dan MAN 2 Yogyakarta. Penelitian evaluasi ini menggunakan pendekatan yang berorientasi pada tujuan untuk mengukur tingkat pencapaian program dan menggunakan metode campuran dengan model concurrent embedded. Model evaluasi CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, and Outcome) digunakan untuk menganalisis program. Peneliti menggunakan purposive sampling dan teknik snowballing sampling dalam menentukan subjek yang berkualitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas keseluruhan program Madrasah Tahfidz \"cukup efektif\" karena input, proses, dan outcome dari komponen CIPPO yang dievaluasi terpenuhi secara optimal, dan menghasilkan rekomendasi untuk merevisi program, karena masih ada 2 komponen yang tidak dapat dinilai efektif dan masih perlu perbaikan terus menerus. Konteks belum efektif karena komponen kebutuhan siswa lebih dibutuhkan dalam meningkatkan membaca Alquran dari pada menghafal. This study aimed to identify online learning's influence on students’ awareness of doing assignments during the Covid-19 pandemic. The mixed-method research with the sequential explanatory design was used to collect and analyze data with a total sample of 305 physics education students at Jambi University. The results showed that students' perceptions and awareness in carrying out tasks online are in a good category. There is a significant effect of online learning on student awareness in doing assignments with a contribution of 72.1%. The remaining 27.9% was influenced by other variables not found in this study. Abstrak: Pembelajaran yang semula berlangsung secara tradisional (tatap muka) telah bergeser ke pembelajaran virtual atau pembelajaran online. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran online terhadap kesadaran mahasiswa dalam mengerjakan tugas selama pandemi Covid-19. Metode penelitian campuran dengan desain eksplanatori sekuensial digunakan untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 305 mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Jambi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi dan kesadaran mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan tugas secara online berada pada kategori baik. Ada pengaruh yang signifikan pembelajaran online terhadap kesadaran mahasiswa dalam mengerjakan tugas dengan kontribusi sebesar 72,1%. This study used a qualitative approach, case study. The data collection techniques were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman techniques. The results of the research show four variables that were evaluated. From the result of data analysis it was found that First, in the aspect of the context variable, the perception of lecturers and students about curriculum implementation based on KKNI was already good, but the perceptions of the educational staffs were not good. Second, in terms of the input variable, it was seen from three points; the vision and mission, KKNI socialization, and learning management. Third, from the aspect of the process variable, in the learning process, the lecturers of Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) tended to have implemented student- centered learning. Meanwhile the lecturers of Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) still tended to implement teacher- centered learning processes. Fourth, in terms of product variable, the achievement of the students who took curriculum class in reference to KKNI were very good.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan kurikulum berbasis KKNI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan empat variabel yang dievaluasi. Dari hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa Pertama, pada aspek variabel konteks, persepsi dosen dan mahasiswa tentang penerapan kurikulum berbasis KKNI sudah baik, namun tenaga kependidikan kurang baik. Kedua, ditinjau dari variabel input dilihat dari tiga poin; visi dan misi, sosialisasi KKNI, dan manajemen pembelajaran. Ketiga, dari aspek variabel proses, dalam proses pembelajaran dosen Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan (FITK) cenderung menerapkan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa. Sementara dosen Fakultas Syariah dan Hukum (FSH) masih cenderung menerapkan proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru. It was conducted to the students of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Bandung, who lived in Rumah Yatim and Tahfidz Qur’an Madani Bandung. It was a qualitative method using case study, designed to comprehensively explore the students’ experiences during the process of their religious conversion and to understand how the experiences transformed their characters. The study used the three-stage data analysis, involving data reduction, presentation and conclusions. From the analysis, it was concluded that: 1) The religious conversions done by the students were influenced predominantly by their mental and environmental factors, especially by the place where they lived; 2) The religious conversions were motivated by certain events such as parents’ divorces or deaths; 3) Their character transformations were varying with three dimensions. In the cognitive dimension, they showed an improvement of critical thinking. In the psychomotor dimension, they were more skilled to socialize. In the affective, they became more emotionally mature because of the improved memorization of the Qur'an. Abstrak: Perkembangan karakter seseorang tidak terlepas dari pengaruh lingkungan, apalagi pengaruh teknologi informasi di Era Revolusi Industri ke empat. Penelitian ini membahas tentang dampak konversi agama terhadap karakteristik peserta didik di usia remaja, khususnya pada mahasiswi Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Bandung yang tinggal di Rumah Yatim dan Tahfidz Qur’an Madani Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bagaimana dampak konversi agama terhadap perubahan karakteristik informan. Sehingga bisa mempelajari lebih dalam setiap kejadian dari proses konversi agamanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, yang bertujuan untuk mempelajari penuh dari setiap kejadian yang dialami informan. Teknik analisis datanya meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. This study used qualitative approach with the type of case study conducted at SMAN 1 Kalianda. Data collection techniques consisted of observation, interviews, and documentary studies. Data analysis techniques used the model of Miles & Huberman consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results show: (1) the implementation of Radin Inten II’s nationalism resistance values in the process of learning local history was carried out by compiling a syllabus and implementing learning plan (RPP) by incorporating local history into Indonesian historical material which was consisted of planning, implementation, and evaluation, (2) the obstacles experienced by teachers included: the ability of teachers during learning process, students’ attitudes, and time constraints, (3) the efforts made by the teacher were taking the initiative to instill the values of nationalism in the resistance of Radin Inten II’s, applying various models, strategies, methods and singing a national song before learning. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) implementasi nilai-nilai nasionalisme perlawanan Radin Inten II dalam proses pembelajaran, (2) kendala yang dialami oleh guru saat implementasi nilai-nilai nasionalisme perlawanan Radin Inten II dalam proses pembelajaran, (3) upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam mengatasi kendala yang dihadapi saat implementasi nilai-nilai nasionalisme perlawanan Radin Inten II dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus di SMAN 1 Kalianda. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles & Huberman yang terdiri dari pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. The focus of this research lies in how the efforts to instill the values of empathy carried out by the Private Madrasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah-12 Punggulan of Asahan Regency in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses qualitative methods with field studies and literature studies. The results showed that the inculcation of the value of empathy in students was carried out in a motivational and planned way. The efforts made to instill the values of empathy include: First, the cultivation of the value of compassion for the meaning of life; Second, Friday blessings and the spirit of sharing; Third, be wise in using social media; Fourth, economic mapping of students' families as a form of madrasah empathy. The steps taken to make it happen are: First, the role model of the madrasa principal and teachers; Second, always provide motivation to students; Third, supervise students in using social media; Fourth, encourage students to carry out useful activities while studying at home, especially through the midnight prayer program at home only.Abstrak: Empati merupakan suatu kemampuan dalam memahami masalah dan perasaan orang lain, berpikir dengan menggunakan sudut pandang orang lain, serta mampu menghargai perbedaan perasaan orang lain dalam menanggapi berbagai masalah. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada bagaimana upaya penanaman nilai-nilai empati yang dilakukan Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Muhammadiyah-12 Punggulan Kabupaten Asahan di tengah kondisi pandemic covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi lapangan dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penanaman nilai empati pada siswa dilakukan cara memotivasi dan juga terencana. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai empati tersebut antara lain: Pertama, penanaman nilai welas-asih untuk kebermaknaan hidup; Kedua, jum’at berkah dan semangat berbagi; Ketiga, bijak dalam penggunaan media sosial; Keempat, pemetaan ekonomi keluarga siswa sebagai wujud empati madrasah.
