Thus, the mesh density of cerebrospinal fluid in finite element model needs to be studied because of its significant impact on the brain's biomechanical responses, such as relative displacement. This study based on a previous finite element head model of a 6 years old child developed and validated by the Tianjin University of Science and Technology. The effects of different mesh density of the cerebrospinal fluid on the relative displacement of the brain were studied. The thickness of cerebrospinal fluid remained unchanged but constructed into three layers and one layer of hexahedral elements. The results indicate that the relative displacements of skull-brain in two cases react to impact differently. Relative displacement is higher in the three layers CSF case than that of one layer. Rotational acceleration caused higher relative displacement than translational acceleration for both cases.","PeriodicalId":318523,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA)","volume":"49 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131337188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A subsample of 404 pedestrian accident cases with AIS1+ lower extremity injuries was selected from German in-Depth Accident Study (GIDAS) database based on a defined sample criterion to conduct statistical analysis. The main variables related to severity of lower extremity injuries were determined at present study, including vehicle impact speed and vehicle design variables: lower bumper height (LBH), upper bumper height (UBH), bumper leading (BL) and bonnet leading edge height (BLEH). Firstly, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to examine whether the mean values of these variables were statistically significance for pedestrian with or without AIS2+ lower extremity injuries. Furthermore, logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze associations between these predicted variables and risk of the pedestrian with AIS2+ lower extremity injury. The results revealed that the predicted variables of the impact speed, the LBH and the BLEH were statistically significant for AIS2+ lower extremity injuries. The higher impact speed, the higher LBH and BLEH correspond to a greater likelihood of suffering an AIS2+ lower extremity injury.","PeriodicalId":318523,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132079693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the queue length in intersection is higher than the setting threshold, the intersection agent is activated. By sending coordination request to the adjacent intersections, based on the NASH equilibrium theory, it looks for the signal timing scheme that is satisfied with the minimum delay time to coordinate intersection agent. If NASH equilibrium has no solution, the network upgrades for management agent coordination and conducts area agent timing coordination according to the historic timing scheme stored in rule base. The simulation analysis shows that TSCA (Traffic Signal Control Agent) system can effectively reduce the overall delay time of the system and the control effect is better.","PeriodicalId":318523,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122484595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this paper is to extract a comprehensive measure from numerous original measures which reflect drivers' Nanoscopic behaviors to measure the safety of urban tunnel entrance and exit. Field test was conducted at Xi'an men tunnel located in Nanjing. The drivers' heart rate (HR) and eye movement, together with the pupillary diameter at the entrance and exit of urban tunnel were collected synchronously with the D-Lab system. Operating speed was recorded by the video camera, and then the individual vehicle acceleration was calculated. Following the factor analysis procedure, three factors, which explain 90.18% and 89.15% of the variance in the original data for entrance and exit separately, are retained from the initial four Nanoscopic driving behavior measures. According to weight score of each factor, a comprehensive measure (FE) which could reflect Nanoscopic driving behavior was extracted by linear combination of the three retained factors. To measure the safety level of urban tunnel gateway, FE is classified into three levels. The criterion for safety classification is given as: |FE|=0.05, safe, 0.050.10, dangerous. The validation by comparing with tunnel environmental shows that the measure proposed in this paper is acceptable and more accurate in evaluating the safety of tunnel gateway zones.","PeriodicalId":318523,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eighth International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA)","volume":"113 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120898392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
