Engaging students in active learning has been proposed as a means to enhance learning outcomes, motivation, and attitudes towards learning. Although previous research acknowledges the significance of assessment in shaping these factors, there is a lack of specific investigation in this area. The objective of this study is to elucidate the intricate correlation between teacher assessment and student engagement in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom. This research uses a qualitative research design by conducting direct interviews to collect and analyze data. There are 3 of the 4 English teachers at SMP Swasta Al-Muslimin Pandan were included in the study at random as participants. The results of research perceived by EFL school teachers reveal that involving students in the assessment process, such as through self-assessment and peer assessment activities, further enhanced their engagement and ownership of their learning journey.","PeriodicalId":317961,"journal":{"name":"Journal Of Education And Teaching Learning (JETL)","volume":"35 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141280583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with a focus on observing the implementation of learning activities at 'Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 3 Kindergarten, Southeast Pontianak. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results showed that the PBL method applied through loose parts media was effective in developing cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years. Careful planning, the active role of teachers in supporting activities, and the use of interesting media are important factors in the successful implementation of this method. In addition, the results also showed that children showed progress in problem solving, logical thinking and symbolic thinking through active participation in learning activities. The findings make an important contribution to the understanding of the use of the PBL method and loose parts media in the context of early childhood education and provide practical guidance for educators to improve the quality of learning in early childhood education institutions.","PeriodicalId":317961,"journal":{"name":"Journal Of Education And Teaching Learning (JETL)","volume":"6 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140395866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employing a mixed-methods approach, it incorporates surveys and content analysis for both quantitative and qualitative data. A stratified random sampling strategy ensures representation from diverse faculties, resulting in 180 participants. Key findings emphasize widespread adoption of Learning Management Systems, multimedia content, mobile learning, and gamification for enhanced student engagement. Challenges include content management and resistance to change, highlighting complexities in E-Learning implementations. The study aligns with established theoretical frameworks like the Technology Acceptance Model and cognitive load theory, contributing to the theoretical understanding of E-Learning dynamics. Implications extend to educators, policymakers, and instructional designers, guiding strategic decision-making and interventions. Limitations, including potential response bias and context-specific considerations, underscore the need for cautious interpretation, paving the way for future research. In conclusion, this research provides a comprehensive examination of E-Learning trends and challenges, offering actionable insights for the ongoing discourse in digital education.","PeriodicalId":317961,"journal":{"name":"Journal Of Education And Teaching Learning (JETL)","volume":"69 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139960001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To nurture students with outstanding competencies, universities need comprehensive support from various stakeholders, especially the industrial sector. The industry sector has emerged as an indispensable collaborator, actively contributing to the educational process, particularly in distance education. The methodology used in this study includes a comprehensive literature review. The article discusses the huge role played by the industrial sector in the context of distance education and integrating experts and practitioners from the business world into the educational framework to enrich the learning process with real-world insights. In addition, providing internship opportunities for students is also considered important. Internships provide invaluable learning experiences, enhancing graduates' competencies, thus strengthening their readiness to enter the workforce. This research explores how industry involvement in education can effectively improve the quality and relevance of distance learning, ultimately producing industry-ready graduates.","PeriodicalId":317961,"journal":{"name":"Journal Of Education And Teaching Learning (JETL)","volume":"54 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140481264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technological advances are growing rapidly in various areas of life, including education. With this change, it gives hope to be able to realize the nation's ideals (BNSP, 2010). The aim of this research is to see the effectiveness of using E-Comic in learning disaster mitigation material in classes XI IPS 1 and XI IPS II. The results of this research obtained an experimental pre-test score of 53.40, a post-test score of 87.10, while the control class had a pre-test score of 51.87 and a post-test score of 61.53. There was a significant increase in the Pre-Test and Posttest of the Control Experiment Class. This shows that E-Comic media can be used by educators as a learning medium in the process of learning activities at school to improve learning outcomes, increase student understanding and also be able to reduce student boredom if they only use the lecture method. Based on the response from educators, the E-Comic media developed in this research responded very well.","PeriodicalId":317961,"journal":{"name":"Journal Of Education And Teaching Learning (JETL)","volume":"63 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140481383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
