Proposed antenna succeeds triple band frequency operations including GSM (IEEE-802.21), WiMAX (IEEE-802.16) and WLAN (IEEE-802.11n) bands of modern wireless communication system. Circular polarization has been hosted in WiMAX and WLAN bands with ≤ 3 dB axial ratio (AR) while GSM band obeys linear polarization; hence dual-polarized operation has been accomplished with the same geometry. Highly isolated structure has been investigated by means of inverted ground planes and integration of parasitic strips amongst the radiating antennas. Fabricated 2×2 MIMO antenna achieves triple band operations that is, GSM (1.78-1.82 GHz), WiMAX (3.3-3.7 GHz) and lower edge of WLAN (5.15-5.35 GHz) with S11, S22 ≤ -10 dB for aforementioned bands and attains S21 ≤ -42 dB isolations within electrifying ports. Designed antenna fulfills directional radiation patterns along E-plane and omnidirectional in H-plane with highest -49 dB cross polarization levels. Antenna has simulated on MOM based CADFEKO software. Simulated peak gain of 4 dBi has been acquired with 78% of peak efficiency. Designed 2×2 MIMO antenna has linear and constant group delay with superior time domain response for a Gaussian pulse.","PeriodicalId":317804,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Bombay Section Symposium (IBSS)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122646018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ICS designed with traditional SCADA platforms have a small percentage or no native security, since they were never designed to be operated remotely and over the Internet. Security of these critical systems relies heavily on communication protocols. DNP3 is one of the most widely used protocols by SCADA system to communicate between the master and slave station. IEEE 1815-2012 is the current standard for DNP3 having goal to provide cyber security based on IEC/TS 62351-15. This paper investigates the buoyancy of DNP3 towards attacks as passive Network reconnaissance, Base line response replay, Rogue interloper, Event buffer flooding and TCP veto. Paper concludes by comments on new set of Improper input validation vulnerability.","PeriodicalId":317804,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Bombay Section Symposium (IBSS)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121904410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With data re-modulation technique at the upstream optical network unit (ONU) we can avoid the use of laser and thus reduce overall system cost. The simulation result shows that the proposed architecture can support a link distance of 32 km in each direction with each wavelength supporting up to 16 users, i.e. giving an aggregate number of 64 users. Also the same architecture can be extended for more number of users, i.e. 256 for each wavelength by adding a pre-amplifier in the downstream link, thus giving an aggregate number of 1024 users over 37 km distribution link. Also, this paper investigates the trade-off between the link distance and the number of users, as the link distance increases the number of users supported by the architecture decreases and vice versa. Additionally, this paper investigates the performance of architecture under different modulation formats in terms of BER and Q factor. The simulation is carried out using optsim simulation software.","PeriodicalId":317804,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Bombay Section Symposium (IBSS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132975596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed approach the adaptation cost function is a combination of MBER and IMSC cost functions. In this paper, we derive an unsupervised hybrid minimum bit error rate (MBER) based approach for blind channel equalisation for arbitrary constellations. To the best of author's knowledge, the assumption of the faded probability density function (pdf) has never been incorporated in the MBER cost function for blind equalisation over a fading cooperative-relay environment. A proof of sufficiency of the proposed scheme for minimisation of the MBER cost function is also provided in this paper.","PeriodicalId":317804,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Bombay Section Symposium (IBSS)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123812087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem of object following is challenging due to changes in appearance that can occur due to motion, pose, illumination and occlusion. The real-time implementation of a computer vision based object following system is presented in this paper. The position of the object to be followed is determined by processing a real time image feed from a calibrated stereo-camera. The method incorporates compressive tracking and stereo-vision based disparity mapping boosted with relocation of the tracking window using Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF). The proposed algorithm runs in real-time and performs favorably in terms of computational efficiency, accuracy and robustness.","PeriodicalId":317804,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Bombay Section Symposium (IBSS)","volume":"329 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133345507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The BRF is designed in the X-band at 10 GHz. The 3-dB bandwidth of the BRF is calculated to be 1.485 GHz. We have calculated the FM interference power of the output of the BRF as a function of input interference power to rejected input signal power ratio. From analysis, it is seen that the normalized output interference power level is down by 55 dB to 37 dB relative to the input interference power to signal power ratio in the range -20dB to -3 dB, the FM interference carrier lying above the BRF centre frequency by 155 MHz.","PeriodicalId":317804,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Bombay Section Symposium (IBSS)","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117279736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents basic architecture, working principle, advantage, and disadvantage of the OCDMA system in details. Next, Time domain OCDMA PON architecture for 2048 optical network units (ONUs) at 60 km reach at 2.5 Gb/s bit rate is proposed. The simulated model is investigated for different number of users and transmission distance in terms of BER and Q-factor. The proposed device presents a novel idea to modulate a sensor and ID information in a single spike. It has the ability to operate at low power as the system uses the proposed spike modulation technique with an analog backscatter communication. A spike is generated at the tag on every rising edge of the oscillator and hence, information is sent to the tag periodically.
