On the other hand programme management which is kind of superstructure of project management is rarely being recognized in civil engineering. A programme is a set of separate projects that are coordinated at the same time, giving the company greater efficiency and overview than management of each project separately. This paper aims to verify the current stage of utilization of programme management principles in construction and development by analyzing the programme management maturity level of three types of companies from civil engineering sector, namely PMC companies, large construction and development companies and retail companies. The research is based on semi-structured interviews in 16 companies. In this survey, we focus on their applications in the Combinatorial Optimization (CO) domain, and in particular to the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). We propose an intuitive and simple mind map helpful to navigate through the wide existing literature, indicating the approaches we consider most promising. Different ML techniques introduced to solve the TSP are discussed and reviewed; and their differences and limitations are delved.
