Initially, the presidential threshold aimed to determine the candidates competing in the presidential election. However, over time, it has become a subject of prolonged debate, as it was perceived to undermine the rights of individuals in government and impede the principle of equality in democracy. This study utilizes qualitative research methods to gauge public sentiment regarding implementing the presidential threshold in Indonesia's presidential election system after the 2019 election. The research collected data through the Nvivo 12 Plus, utilizing sources such as Twitter (with the hashtag #presidentialthreshold) and online news media outlets, including Kompas, Detik, Tempo, Republika, and TribunNews. The study findings indicate that the percentage requirement is the most frequently discussed topic regarding the presidential threshold. Tempo is the online news media outlet that prominently highlights the issue. The analysis reveals that negative sentiment prevails in public opinion, comprising 63% of responses, while positive sentiment constitutes 37%. Tempo primarily represents positive sentiment, while Republika reflects negative sentiment. Positive public sentiment focuses on parliamentary support, while negative sentiment centers around candidates' opportunities.","PeriodicalId":31732,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Civics Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42552842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fact that multicultural society is still challenging to realize is a serious problem, not only for one or two countries but also for all countries worldwide. This research has three objectives. The first describes the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia with various obstacles. Second, describe solutions to multiple problems in the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia. Third, provide recommendations for the implementation of multicultural education in other areas. Based on a qualitative study of several studies on the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia, The results show that the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia is carried out in several ways or several approaches. In general, this approach can be divided into two: the approach in terms of learning materials and the approach in terms of learning methods. The multicultural education approach in terms of material means that the values of multiculturalism are given to students through special materials that discuss multiculturalism. Meanwhile, the approach in terms of methods means that the values of multicultural life are given to students by integrating them into various subjects namely the approach in terms of learning materials and approaches in terms of learning methods.","PeriodicalId":31732,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Civics Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49052042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the majority population, Islamic ummah holds a vital role in establishing and managing a peaceful, fair, and prosperous society. The Qur’an, being the primary source of Islamic law, contains principles and meanings of social values that laid the foundation of the first Islamic country in Medina. Therefore, it is essential for followers of Islam to explore civic values in the Qur’an that can be integrated into Indonesian civic values. However, previous research on the concept of the ummah in the Qur’an that can construct civic values is lacking. This study aimed to address this gap by conducting qualitative research through a library research method and thematic analysis. The study identified civic values in the Qur’an that included unity, self-regulation, justice, honesty, responsibility, moderation, tolerance, rule of law, purity, change, plurality, critical thinking, and becoming a participatory, humanist, emancipatory, liberal society inseparable from the transcendental path. Integrating these values into Indonesian civic values can contribute to establishing a peaceful, fair, and prosperous society that values diversity, justice, and the rule of law.","PeriodicalId":31732,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Civics Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48361067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today it is necessary to change the orientation of the Civics curriculum which is globally oriented. In other words, it is necessary to engineer the Civics curriculum development. This paper attempts to present theoretical frameworks for engineering the development of a democratic and globally oriented Civics curriculum. There are at least six theoretical frameworks, namely the Birdcage Theory, Crystal Theory, Tree Theory, DNA Theory, Mushroom Theory, and Amoeba Theory. The six theories have different views, implications, and recommendations in curriculum engineering, including the Civics curriculum. This paper ends with the author's recommendations after considering both the strengths and weaknesses of the six theoretical frameworks.","PeriodicalId":31732,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Civics Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45062637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This practice is based on traditional institutions passed down for generations. It involves the direct transfer of land without the need for a written agreement, witnesses, or village officials. The spirit of togetherness and trust in neighbors and relatives facilitate this practice. The borrower surrenders possession of the land to the lender, who can redeem the land within an agreed-upon time frame. In reality, land pawning has been a common practice in Semoyo Village for decades, as landowners have been unable to redeem their land. While the land is under pawn, the borrower has the right to possession and use. However, the land pawning practice in Semoyo Village is susceptible to disputes and coercion, despite being regulated by Article 7 of Law Number 56 PRP of 1960. Nonetheless, Semoyo Village residents continue to practice land pawning for various reasons, such as urgent needs, avoiding selling their land, difficulty obtaining loans from banks, mutual assistance, and obtaining additional cultivation land. Land pawning is only conducted among close neighbors or trusted relatives whose character is well-known.","PeriodicalId":31732,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Civics Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46884692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several studies indicate that a sense of belonging can help enhance citizens' participation and contribution to society. This article discusses how place attachment can aid in forming a sense of belonging and how sense of belonging can be promoted through civic education. Teachers should consider the context and needs of students in order to create relevant and meaningful learning experiences. Additionally, local wisdom and cultural ties to a place can be integrated into civic education. Therefore, in civic education, sense of belonging can be enhanced through learning experiences that are connected to familiar places or environments. Through effective and place-integrated learning, students can develop a strong sense of identity and belonging, which can enhance their participation and contribution to society and citizenship.","PeriodicalId":31732,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Civics Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43019001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
