Postindustrial society and postmodern culture have made a significant impact on the transformation of identities, which have truly become liquid - multidimensional, discontinuous, decentralized, fragmented, unstable and inconstant. Parallel with this, new tendencies in culture have almost completely narrowed the boundary between high and popular creativity, thus challenging the status of the established, until then recognized values. These changes have also become evident in the contemporary Serbian society, which is obsessed by preserving the tradition and long-developed identities. By chance, that society has had one foot in the postmodern information world, with the other stuck in the quagmire of old habits and misconceptions inherited from the period of premodern social awareness. By analysing crucial value aspects (traditionalism, conformism, authoritarianism and nationalism), the author of this paper attempts to provide an explanation (which is the basic precondition for the resolution) of the ambivalent and, seemingly, inescapable situation in which the culture of Serbian society finds itself.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":"65-82"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71057175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its history goes back to early ages of human race. It is one of the most important fine art categories. The ornament was less important fine art category for a long time. The subject of this paper are various types of ornament altogether with personal experience in creating ornaments. The main aim was to reveal basis of ornament, its features and also to put in focus the importance of our attention in art process. Ornament has four categories determined by its appereance. Its complex forms, mathematical approach and lots of details are features I found similar in my art practice (paintings or drawings with various themes). The conclusions derived from comparison of this two various types of ornaments are contribution to examinations of its history through the eye of the artist.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":"79-85"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71056714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The examination of the beliefs of 162 teachers about the quality of decisions that students make while working in small groups was achieved by the KDO-MG scale, which was created and tested for the purposes of this research. A two-factor univariate analysis of variance found that there was a statistically significant difference between the beliefs of teachers, subject teachers and high school teachers about the quality of students' decision-making during work in small groups. The difference is reflected in the fact that teachers' beliefs indicate that the quality of decisions is higher among high school students than is the case with elementary school students.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-10"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71057115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main method was non-experimental - a survey research on a sample, and the research sample consisted of 110 preschool-aged children. The sample was purposeful and convenient, which suited the exploratory nature of this research. The instrument used is a modified and shortened version of the questionnaire constructed for a broader research project. The results obtained show that the majority of preschool-aged children know what digital media are, that they use them and that they have not had negative experiences when facing them, as well as that they sometimes talk to their parents and kindergarten teachers about the dangers and risks of using digital media. Parents do control the using of digital media, but they more often decide to ban them than to talk to their children about their negative effects, even though it is indicative that prevention, in terms of educating the children, i.e. talking to them and properly informing them on the negative influences of digital media is a better option than strict control and banning their use.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":"33-53"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71056913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research included 286 students of seventh and eighth grade in four elementary schools in Serbia. The data were collected via survey method and processed using the SPSS software package. The questionnaire was the instrument used in the research, and descriptive-analytical method was used for data interpretation. The research results demonstrate that students with excellent academic performance show a high level of responsibility concerning regular studying, whilst students with good and satisfactory academic performance do not. Likewise, the students with excellent academic performance to a greater extent perceive studying as a positive activity, in comparison to the students with poorer academic performance. A positive correlation of medium intensity was recorded between the variables of regular studying and doing homework regularly. However, the percentage of students who stated they did not do their homework regularly due to the lack of motivation, homework overload or insufficiently clear expectations is not negligible. They describe school as a well-equipped, safe and stimulating environment with strict teachers. This research contributes to the understanding of the role of school from the perspective of the students atswhom the goals of school studying are directed.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":"19-39"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71056992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper focuses on the partnership of educators and parents in the context of real inclusive practice, through a strategy of support for children with disabilities. The theoretical basis is a systems approach, which implies the understanding that the studied system is part of a broader system and that the system itself consists of smaller subsystems that are mutually conditioned. A systematic approach to inclusion provides a conceptual framework for determining the combined impact on preschool children in a dynamic relationship with their environment. It can be concluded that inclusion requires partnership work and that one of the priority tasks of an inclusive preschool institution is to develop quality support programs and involve parents in children's activities.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":"55-63"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71057082","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the question arises: \"Is school a place that does (not) encourage creativity?\" Creativity, as a psychological, social and pedagogical phenomenon, has a markedly positive impact on the overall development of a child or, in case of school, a student. The project teaching method calls for the school to be open and to be more closely connected with its environment, in order to enhance the students' independence and creativity, self-initiative, responsibility, cooperativeness, ability to apply information and communication technologies as well as digital teaching tools as sources of knowledge. This article presents the project method as an element of stimulating students' creativity in teaching the subject Nature and Society, planned for the third grade of elementary school. By reviewing the relevant literature as well as by experimental research on a convenience sample of students, we have identified acceptable options and some effects of applying this method. At the same time, we have also raised a number of issues that should be addressed later in order to further stimulate the development of creativity through teaching.","PeriodicalId":31618,"journal":{"name":"Sinteze","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71057068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
