The effective core potential with Def2-QZVP basis set for rubidium atom and SDB-aug-cc-pVTZ basis set for iodine atom were used. According to the results, the equilibrium geometric structure of the triatomic ions was found to be linear of D<sub>∞h</sub> symmetry. For the pentaatomic ions, the three isomeric forms were found: the linear (D<sub>∞h</sub>), the kite-shaped (C<sub>2v</sub>), and the bipyramidal (D<sub>3h</sub>), both for the positive and negative ions. For all species, the equilibrium geometric parameters and vibrational spectra have been determined.","PeriodicalId":315622,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd Pan African International Conference on Science, Computing and Telecommunications (PACT 2014)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125097939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper review the schemes for providing Quality of Service (QoS) in mobile wireless network environment. The paper will evaluate a total of four schemes this include Fault Tolerant Dynamic Allocation Scheme which deals with the methods of reusing the channels effectively between two adjacent cells to avoid co-channel interference, second is Call Admission Control Scheme which deals with pre-blocking of calls based on the available bandwidth for handling calls, third scheme is Mobility Prediction Scheme which collects the information of the mobile host while travelling in a vehicle and store the information into a database, and lastly Dynamic Allocation using Renegotiation Scheme where the bandwidth usage changes dynamically depending on its availability. These schemes are used in different environment to increase the quality of services of mobile communication. Each scheme has its strong and weakest point depending on the parameters they are to analyze.","PeriodicalId":315622,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd Pan African International Conference on Science, Computing and Telecommunications (PACT 2014)","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123524598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three types of antenna arrays such as L shape, Y shape, and Circular shape arrays are used in the base station and their corresponding path loss on several routes in the outdoor environment are calculated. Moreover, the genetic algorithm (GA) and Dynamic Differential Evolution (DDE) are employed to optimize the excitation voltages and phases for antenna arrays to form proper antenna patterns. The particle swarm optimization algorithm has better optimization result than genetic algorithm in NLOS case. For antenna arrays Y shape has better optimization result in NLOS case.","PeriodicalId":315622,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd Pan African International Conference on Science, Computing and Telecommunications (PACT 2014)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125072544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ART service providers need to continuously monitor treatment outcomes. Treatment out comes can either be treatment success or treatment failure. Treatment success involves improvement of the patient's condition during treatment manifested by a decrease in the viral load, increase in CD4 count and clinically no opportunistic infections. Treatment failure can either be: Virological failure, Immunological failure and Clinical failure. Both qualitative and quantitative interviews were held with patients and ART service providers to access the feasibility of using mobile phones to monitor patients on ART in Uganda. This paper, presents a mobile based system design to monitor both treatment success and treatment failure.","PeriodicalId":315622,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd Pan African International Conference on Science, Computing and Telecommunications (PACT 2014)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122242384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
