The terms\"children,\" \"postoperative,\" \"pediatrics,\" \"laryngealmask airway,\" \"endotracheal tube,\" and \"subglottic\"were utilized. The scope of the literature review waslimited to randomized controlled trials (RCTs), andPubMed, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library wereamong the databases searched. Two reviewers used theCochrane Risk of Bias Tool to assess quality. Eight RCTsin total were included. When compared to the ETT,results showed that the number of attempts forendotracheal intubation was fewer than for theplacement of the LMA. Additionally, there was anincrease in blood pressure, heart rate, and mean arterialpressure with the use of the ETT. The incidence ofpostoperative respiratory complications, includinglaryngospasm, bronchospasm, and sore throat, washigher with the use of the ETT. We conclude that the useof the LMA can be a safe alternative to the ETT inpediatric patients, producing fewer hemodynamicchanges and postoperative complications.","PeriodicalId":315163,"journal":{"name":"Journal For International Medical Graduates","volume":" 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141823978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its clinical presentation is dysmenorrhea, hirsutism, acne, metabolic complications, infertility, and polycystic ovaries. The study is aimed to assess the efficacy of Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 9 (PCSK9) Inhibitors to lower dyslipidemia in women with PCOS to prevent long term cardio-metabolic complications. PCSK 9 Inhibitors ( Alirocumab, Evolocumab, and Inclisiran) bind to LDL receptors in liver and lower LDLC levels, preventing long term adverse side effects. This review aims at showing that these drugs can be effective when prescribed to women with PCOS earlyon to prevent some serious cardiovascular and metabolic complications in the long run. In terms of medical therapy, most physicians prescribe Metformin and Statins as first line agents to control risk factors. But much of the research supported the use of PCSK 9 Inhibitors early in the disease process or as an add-on to statins for controlling the lipid profile. When compared to Statins, the control rates of PCSK 9 Inhibitors were equal or superior and they showed additive effect when given along with other lipid lowering agents. Studies showed these drugs have only minor side effects and have good tolerability profile. They do not have severe side effects as compared to statins or fibrates.","PeriodicalId":315163,"journal":{"name":"Journal For International Medical Graduates","volume":"227 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140451699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research has employed randomized controlled trials (RCTs), case reports, retrospective case studies, systematic reviews, and cohort studies to evaluate the treatment choices for OCVM and its consequences. The goal of this review is to analyze the comprehensive therapies used for OCVM. For our literature search, we looked at PubMed/MEDLINE, PubMed Central and Cochrane across six years (from 2016 to 2021). Using the Cochrane risk of bias quality assessment tool, the found studies underwent a quality check (modified Cochrane RoB 2). For the reporting of this systematic review, we adopted preferred reporting items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 criteria and included a total of 10 papers. The majority of research confirmed the accuracy of OCVM detection using MRI and CT. To evaluate the effects of the intervention on OCVM more precisely, more trials with a longer follow-up time are needed. This study will explore recommendations and guide orbital surgeons, regardless. It will aid in the development of future strategies involving both invasive and noninvasive procedures to close the surgical and complication gap.","PeriodicalId":315163,"journal":{"name":"Journal For International Medical Graduates","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139001374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
