This study aims to examine how communication skills possessed by dyslexic children, given that dyslexic children experience language barriers. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach through the case study method of three students at Griya Baca Pelangi who had been diagnosed with dyslexia. Data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Next, the data were analyzed with the concept of Miles and Huberman. The results were obtained that the dyspersic communication skills of dyslexic children differ. To this end, fifty-four novice counselors graduated from the guidance and counseling department of Ahmad Dahlan University were recruited. The data were collected using a work readiness scale and analyzed using a quantitative descriptive technique. The result showed that the school counselors’ strongest aspect lay in work attitude, while the weakest aspect lay in interpersonal communication. Based on the focus group discussion, novice counselors still faced some difficulties when providing guidance and counseling services at school. The most frequently found obstacles were their ability to deal with the students’ mental, assertiveness, group counseling services, collaboration service, and service management. {"title":"Students’ Bullying Experiences at University Level","authors":"D. This paper focuses on the issue of bullying at one university in Jakarta, Indonesia. Using an exploratory study, 305 students responded to the close and open-ended questionnaire. The sample was recruited using cluster random sampling technique. Data were analyzed by the frequency of distribution to describe the extent to which bullying exists in university context. The finding showed that 19.34% participants have experienced as the bullying victim, 58,36% as bystanders and 16.72 % as the bully. Direct and verbal bullying is the most frequently used of bullying. The bullying occurred when the students were gathering with their group (57,14%). Most of the victims of bullying preferred to stay passive and did nothing to ask for help stopping bullying. The percentage of bullying victim in this study was higher than those reported in other existing studies. This finding indicated that bullying in higher education remain an issue. The research goal to find guidance and counseling services right to develop character tolerance. Research and development approach used in research. Research and development steps include preliminary study, development hypothetical group guidance model-based folklore, validation of expert judgment and expert practitioners, experimental test form group guidance model-based folklore on a limited basis — descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative in research analysis. The findings show Aspects of peace and mutual respect for students in the low category, during the self-awareness of students in the high category. School counselor role in group guidance services for prevention, development, understanding, and distribution of tolerance character. Tolerance characters appear in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions with indicators of peace, respect for differences and individuals, and awareness. This study included a qualitative analysis of 42 photovoice papers prepared by 15 Guidance and Counseling students The images and thematic analysis reveal the following main themes: religion, learning activities and places and leisure. Applying descriptive quantitative approach, the present study involved 280 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Mungkid who were recruited using simple random sampling technique. The data were collected using anger management scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The present study showed that students’ overall anger management skill was categorized as very high. In terms of anger management aspects, students’ anger recognition, anger control, anger relief, and assertive anger expression skills were categorized as high, high, moderate, and high, respectively. Seven experimental studies were selected as the sample of the study using purposive sampling technique. These selected studies reported the effect of reality therapy on learning motivation and discipline. The analysis was done using pre-post contrast meta-analysis. The calculation result showed a weighted mean effect score of 2.818. The mean effect size score is the parameter that represents effective contribution. This positive score indicates that the post-test score is higher than the pre-test score. Family support and self-confidence were examined as predictors that can enhance students’ readiness to enter the working world. Ninety-two students of Class XII of a vocational high school participated in this correlational study. They were recruited using cluster random sampling technique. In collecting the data, employability, self-confidence, and family support scales were administered. The collected data were analyzed using multiple regression technique. The result of the study showed that self-confidence and family support are positively correlated with employability, either partially or simultaneously. This study found that self-confidence, as the internal factor, give greater contribution to students’ employability.
