It finds that the higher the efficiency of logistics and transport, the lower the transportation costs coefficient per unit distance; when logistics and transportation costs decrease, domestic goods demand of foreigners increases, and so does the export value expressed in domestic prices. Additionally, Spearman's rank correlation method is used to analyze the relationship between LPI and export level (EXP), indicating that LPI has a positive rank correlation with the EXP at a significant level of 1%. This research confirms the positive correlation between LP and EC and proposes specific solutions to enhancing the logistics capability in other developing countries.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114803563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work proposes a blockchain and IoT-based supply chain system (BITS) framework to help create permanent records using smart contracts that can be shared and acted across a product supply chain in the SCM in a decentralized fashion. BITS ensures improved trust, security, transparency, and traceability among the participants aided with BCT and IoT. A demonstration of the data flow and the conceptual illustration of BITS is presented. Algorithms for node authorization and verification based on threshold values are presented. The framework has been rigorously tested for performance considering increasing malicious nodes and over various performance evaluation determining factors (i.e., computational power, memory consumption, time delay, and stability analysis based on the block arrival rate). BITS was evaluated by comparing its performance with consensus algorithm peers (i.e., PoW, PoS, and DPoS). Simulation study reveals the efficient performance of BITS under various test conditions.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127277985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The human capital of the logistics industry was found to be classified into four major categories, namely operative, supervisor, management, and government. This study aims to develop a new human capital framework that guides the logistics industry towards successfully implementing and managing Logistics 4.0 practices. The significance of this study is to utilize a new framework to shorten the gap between current basic logistics practices into Industry 4.0 practices. An integrative literature review technique was used thoroughly and reviewed and analyzed in order to create the Logistics 4.0 human capital development framework in a manner that satisfies the categories of logistics human capital. A combination of the business logistics management (BLM) framework and Industry 4.0 elements creates a new human capital development (HCD) framework in logistics and supply chains.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114810356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, it will affect all the stakeholders related to farming. It may use various technologies such as big data and ML (machine learning). These technologies will help us in fetching the data to train it according to the needs. The agricultural sector also has a significant impact on the country's GDP (gross domestic product). India is rich in the area of agriculture, but the yields per hectare are exceptionally low as compared to the land. The business logic in Python uses machine learning techniques to predict the most suitable crops in the forecasted weather and soil conditions at a specified location. The proposed system will integrate the data obtained from the weather department and by applying machine learning algorithms: Naïve Bayes (polynomial) and support vector machine (SVM) and unsupervised machine learning algorithms like k-means clustering multiple linear regression for weather and environmental conditions are made.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116000041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Implementing the agile method is not for fashion and not for keeping up with the “newest and greatest” trend. Without the agile method, it is difficult to implement any other strategic initiatives, such as digital transformation. Agile development focuses on the evolution of user needs and then uses a step-by-step approach as well as an iterative approach to software development. This paper finds that communication is vital in agile project management. The author puts forward some opinions on the communication management of agile projects, including the establishment of the information portal and agile communication matrix. Additionally, a literature review is performed to illustrate how certain variables, concepts, and models can assist in project management. This study takes a design-science-investigate approach to assess pre-existing literature.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124834278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Counterfeit risk management is characterized by factors of Counterfeit Risk Mitigation (CRM) and Integration of Risk Management (IRM), while performance is represented by Cost Benefits (CB), Supply Chain Benefits (SCB) and overall Organizational Performance (OP). A structural equation model is tested based on the participation of 139 logistics and SC managers. For service-oriented organizations, the relationship between CRM and both CB and SCB is fully mediated by IRM. Moreover, both CB and SCB have a significant direct positive effect on OP. In the case of manufacturing-oriented organizations, while IRM fully mediates the relationship between CRM and CB, no mediation effect is found in the link between CRM and SCB. Furthermore, no relationship materializes between SCB and OP. The empirical findings of this research offer a firm-level counterfeiting framework for managerial decision-making.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133340436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, despite various efforts made by the government to develop the road network and ensure that these projects succeed in a timely manner, delays and cost overruns remain a problem for all road construction projects in many emerging economies. Namibia is no exception. So, it is important to identify critical success factors (CSFs) that need to be addressed for the timely delivery of road construction projects. Hence, adopting a qualitative approach, the aim of this study is to investigate critical success factors (CSFs) for timely delivery of road construction projects. The study recommends that the Roads Authority should engage capable companies, contractors, consultants, promote R&D, and do timely payment to eliminate project delays. The findings also propose that government introduces an alternative funding model for contractors who are awarded contracts.","PeriodicalId":312779,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied Logistics","volume":"238 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127331786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
