It can be performed using linguistic approach to recognize sentence structure (word order). Subjectpredicate rule does not consider sentence usage context in a sentence. Whereas, by using thematic role rule, each significant argument in a sentence is discovered to provide information on relation between word and the role it played in determining the meaning of a sentence. Tokens that have been labelled were matched with thematic role consisting of Agent, Patient, Theme, Source, Beneficiary, Experiencer, Location, Time and Quantity. This study is conducted on Compiler course in Malay which comprise of various type of sentences. 5-fold cross validation test shows that error rate produces by Thematic Role rule and Subject-Predicate rule are 13.51% and 34.05%, respectively, a difference of 20.54%. This result shows that by understanding sentence context, it will produce better and promising essay assessment.","PeriodicalId":31240,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Software Engineering and Computer Systems","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80563660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In India, it is one of the main economic sources and different types of plants are farmed every year which hinders normal growth of the plants. That’s the reason from long ago researchers are searching for new methods of classification of plant diseases. Although there are different neural networks already used for plant disease classification, but only using these methods do not make the best tradeoff between time and accuracy. So to remove this constraint, we proposed method for plant disease classification based on BPNN and PSO. Now we have added some more data to our dataset and applied Principal component analysis to reduce the number of total features and on these features we have applied BPNN with PSO. We have used images of leaves affected by different bacterial and fungal diseases: Alternaria alternata, Anthracnose, Bacterial blight, Bacterial leaf scorch, Cercospora leaf spot, and Downy mildew in our experiment and our proposed method achieves approximately 96.42% accuracy.","PeriodicalId":31240,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Software Engineering and Computer Systems","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79623655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Word Order Technique and Syntactic-Semantic Knowledge Technique have been used in previous researches. However, it cannot differentiate sentence pair that is not similar semantically and only proven to produce excellent result on short sentence. Thematic Role annotation for every significant argument seems able to provide information regarding the relations between the word. Wordnet Semantics Network calculates semantic similarities of two synsets (token) by taking into account the depth of semantic relations. This study is conducted on Compiler course set in Malay that comprise of passive, simple, negative, mixed and complex questions. To prove the effectiveness of the techniques, the test result that apply Grammar Pola Technique was used as a benchmark because the study uses the same data set. The average of f-measure test accuracy rate is 93.53% when using Thematic Role and Semantic Network Techniques compared to 82.36% accuracy rate when using Pola Grammar Technique. The result of Thematic Role can be used on research involving Malay linguistic to test sentence structure matching that has verb by considering types of sentence.","PeriodicalId":31240,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Software Engineering and Computer Systems","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89996551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we give a modified version of merge sort, which in practice shows substantial improvement in running time than the top-down and bottom-up implementations of the classical merge sort. Our algorithm works as a bottom-up manner and the modifications happen in three places: (a) given n elements in an array, first the algorithm considers the array as n / 2 consecutive pairs and sorts each pair in-place by one comparison; (b) in subsequent steps, during the ”merge” process of two subarrays, if the last element in the left subarray is smaller than the first element in the right subarray, the algorithm simply returns; and (c) if the last element in the right subarray is smaller than the first element in the left subarray, then the algorithm swaps the elements in the two subarrays by their entirety. Steps (b) and (c) happen in-place. For the case not in (b) or (c), the algorithm follows the classical merge technique with an extra array. Our experimental results also show that case (b) and (c) happen a good amount of time in practice and that is the reason that our algorithm gives better running time than the classical merge sort.","PeriodicalId":31240,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Software Engineering and Computer Systems","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90908304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, studies using image processing to detect E.coli bacteria have been restricted. There is an urgent need to incorporate image processing into systematic reviews for the identification of E.coli in water or food samples. The E.coli detection process takes between 24 hours to 48 hours as the bacteria needs to go through the growth phase as a result of a mixture of water samples and chemical reagents and then placed in an incubator at certain temperatures and humidity. This article review several approaches for E.coli bacteria detection from standard technique, portable hybrid imaging system, hybrid smartphone and microfluidic biosensor, smartphone and paper microfluidics and goes to fibre optics. The colour change after several hours is an indicator for detecting the presence of E.coli bacteria in the water sample. Although standard techniques such as Gold Nanoparticles, Solid phase Cytometry, Viable Plate Count and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for detection the presence of E.coli, the use of this technique involving the transfer of water samples to the laboratory, trained staff, longer sample monitoring process, expensive costs and complex procedures. E.coli detection techniques are also going through a revolutionary phase as technology advances by using a hybrid technique that combines standard technique and image processing. E.coli growth monitoring and detection process is now easier as it can be viewed using a portable device, smartphone or via a website in real-time.","PeriodicalId":31240,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Software Engineering and Computer Systems","volume":"90 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76057987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
