Family carers of Alzheimer's patients deal with several challenges linked to caregiving, including stress, anxiety, and a high degree of expressed emotion. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the effect of expressed emotion instructional guidelines on family caregiver's burdens of patients with Alzheimer's. Design : This study was carried out using a quasi-experimental design. Setting: This study was applied in neurologic outpatient clinics of a psychiatric hospital in Sohag City. Subject : There was a purposive sample of 100 family caregivers of Alzheimer's patients were enrolled. Data collection tools: 1) Socio-demographic questionnaire for patients with Alzheimer's and their family caregivers. 2) Expressed emotions scale. 3) Zarit burden scale. Results : The results of the current study showed that, following the application of expressed emotion instructional guidelines, scores for family carers' expressed emotion and burdens significantly improved statistically. Additionally, under the studies pre-, post-, and follow-up adoption of expressed emotion instructional guidelines, there were highly statistically significant positive connections between the caregiver's overall expressed emotion and the total burdens score . Conclusion : Implementing instructional guidelines for expressed emotion has a statistically significant reduction of caregiver burdens associated with caring for Alzheimer's patients. The use of a cooling cap can help prevent chemotherapy-related alopecia. The aim of the study: is to determine the effect of cooling cap on controlling alopecia for women undergoing chemotherapy. Materials and methods: The study design used was a quasi-experimental research design. A purposive sample of 60 adult female patients, at the Oncology Center and Oncology clinic in Minia University age, ranged from 21 to 60 years old, with cancer and scheduled to be treated with adjuvant chemotherapy for the first time after curative surgery who met the inclusion criteria will be divided randomly 30 subjects in study group and 30 subjects in the control group, the study group were received cooling cap while they receiving their chemotherapy cycle while the control group received the routine hospital care. 2 tools used to include structure interview questionnaire and physiologic measurement tool for hair loss. The results of this study: There were 43.3% &3.3% have grade 4 (total alopecia) from the control and study group (CCG) respectively after the six cycles of chemotherapy. There is a highly significant difference between the two groups regarding grades of hair loss and there is good hair preservation by 86.7% in the study group (cooling cap group (CCG)) compared to 16.7% in the control group where P=0.000. Conclusion: The cooling cap is effective in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced alopecia in cancer patients. Recommendation: The cooling cap is effective and should be applied for cancer patients during chemotherapy cycles thus the cooling cap system should be available in governmental hospitals and the women with cancer who take adjuvant chemotherapy should be encouraged to use cooling cap to reduce total alopecia. The capacity to savor pleased moments in life is related to greater psychological well-being; nevertheless, a few research studies have examined at savoring intervention in older persons. The study aimed to investigate the effect of psychological savoring intervention on resilience, gratitude, and psychological well-being among elderly. Setting/sample: A quasi-experimental design was used with a purposive sample of 52 independent elderly people who are members of the Zagazig City geriatric club, Egypt. A structured interview questionnaire, older adults´ Resilience scale, Elder´s Gratitude scale, and psychological well-being scale were used for data collection. Results: After the training program, participated elderly showed highly statistically significant improvements in the mean score of resilience, gratitude, and psychological well-being. There were highly statistically significant positive correlations between the participant elderly's gratitude and resilience scores, gratitude score and psychological well-being score, resilience score and psychological well-being score. Conclusion: The psychological savoring intervention program for the elderly was successful in improving their resilience, gratitude, and psychological well-being levels. It is characterized by menstrual irregularity and elevated serum androgens and is often accompanied by obesity and infertility. Aim : to evaluate the impact of multimedia education on women's knowledge and practices regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome. Subjects and methods: Design: A quasi-experimental design of one group \"pre/post-test\" was used to achieve the aim of the current study. Setting : the study was applied at the outpatient gynecology and obstetrics clinic at Sohag University Hospital. Sample : A purposive sample included 100 women diagnosed with PCOS. Instruments of data collection: Four instruments were used; 1) Structured interviewing questionnaire, 2) Women's knowledge assessment sheet, 3) menstrual feature assessment tool, 4) Women's practices assessment tool. Results : According to the findings of the current study, menstrual irregularity, menstrual bleeding, amenorrhea, and oligomenorrhea all showed statistically significant improvements (P= 0.005; P=0.001; P=0.012; P= 0.04). There was a highly significant difference between the women's knowledge of polycystic ovarian syndrome before and after receiving multimedia education. Additionally, the practices of the women significantly improved following the implementation of multimedia education compared to before implementation. Conclusion : Based on the results of the current study; all research hypothesis could be accepted. Ensuring that training is managed effectively, and interns are educated on COVID-19 is crucial. This study sought to determine the effect of an interactive web-based educational intervention on preventive practices of COVID-19 among internship students. Materials and Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental (one group pre/post-test) research design. The study included all Applied Medical Sciences internship students at AL-Baha University. An intern's hand and respiratory hygiene compliance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic was assessed using a self-administrated online Google form. A post-test was conducted after implementing a web-based interactive COVID-19 preventive education intervention. The SPSS was used for analysis. Results: The interactive web-based educational intervention had a significant impact on the preventive practices of COVID-19 among internship students. After the intervention, there was a notable increase in the average hand hygiene score to 62.06 ± 5.69 (z= 3.661*, p < 0.001*). Similarly, the average respiratory etiquette score also significantly improved, to 94.34 ± 10.93 (z= 3.521*, p < 0.001*). Additionally, students residing in rural areas demonstrated a noteworthy association (t= 3.063, P= 0.002), and those aged above 22 also showed a significant correlation (t= 2.808, P= 0.005). Furthermore, previous training in hand hygiene (t= 1.278, P= 0.003) and respiratory etiquettes (t= 1.871, P= 0.005) were identified as significant determinants. Conclusion: The interactive web-based educational intervention had a significant positive impact on COVID-19 preventive practices among internship students. The hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette scores significantly improved, highlighting its effectiveness in promoting better hygiene practices. Moreover, certain student factors, such as residing in rural areas and being above 22 years old, were found to be significantly associated with preventive practices. The research aimed to investigate the effect of adopting health belief model to improve female employees’ knowledge, beliefs, and preventive behaviors regarding vitamin D deficiency. Method: A structured educational intervention based on HBM was implemented using a quasi-experimental study among 300 female employees from 14 faculties affiliated to Mansoura University in Egypt using stratified sampling with a proportional allocation technique. Tools: A self-administered structured questionnaire consisting of five parts was used for data collection before and three months after the intervention. The intervention involved group education, counseling, and follow-up. Results: There were statistically significant differences in mean scores of total knowledge, VDD-preventive behaviors, and HBM constructs before and three months after the intervention with P≤0.001. Three months following the intervention, there was a statistically significant positive connection with (p≤ 0.001) between total knowledge, total VDD-preventive behavior, and HBM constructs scores. Also, there were statistically significant differences between participants’ knowledge scores regarding VD and VDD with employees’ age, occupation, and years of experience in the pre and post-test with p ≤0.001. As well, there were statistically significant differences between participants’ VDD-preventive behaviors with their occupation and level of education in the pre-and post-test with p≤0.001 and p=0.006 respectively. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences between participants’ health belief scores with their age, working place, occupation, income, years of experience, medical and medications history in the pre-and post-test p<0.05. Conclusions: Implementing educational intervention based on HBM improves the female employees’ knowledge regarding VD and VDD, contributes to the advancement in all constructs of the health belief model, and positively affects their VDD-preventive behaviors. Recommendations: Health Belief Model constructs should be an essential part of the existing VDD management program. Self-management is essential for people with MS because it helps them improve their prognosis by learning about the different elements of the condition and regularly monitoring their health with their caregivers. The study was aimed to evaluate the effect of educational guideline on self-management and clinical outcomes for patients with MS. Study design : A quasi-experimental design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting : This study was conducted at Multiple Sclerosis Outpatient Clinic affiliated to Ain Shams University Hospital, Egypt. Sample : A purposive sample of 80 adult patients were selected based on inclusion criteria. Tools of data collection : An interview questionnaire to assess patient's demographic characteristics and patient's clinical data. Patients' knowledge assessment. Multiple Sclerosis Self-Management Scale. Clinical Outcomes Assessment Questionnaire. Results : The mean age of the studied patients was 36.75 ± 5.63; females were more prevalent and constituted 68.8% of the studied patients. Also, 88.8% and 87.5% of them had satisfactory level of total knowledge and total self-management practices post implementation of educational guideline, respectively. Moreover, there was a significant reduction in impact of fatigue, pain, visual impairment and psychological distress among the studied patients post implementation of educational guideline. Furthermore, there was a significant improvement in patients’ bladder, bowel control, sexual activity and satisfaction post implementation of educational guideline. Conclusion : The implementation of educational guideline has a statistically significant positive effect on self-management and clinical outcomes for patients with MS. Recommendations: Self-management guideline should be included in the routine nursing care and rehabilitation process for patients with MS and should be updated periodically in order to enhance their knowledge and self-management practices. In the context of healthcare, patient safety refers to the efforts aimed at minimizing patients' exposure to hazards, near-misses, and unnecessary harm associated with healthcare. Nurse interns constitute a significant portion of the healthcare workforce and play a vital role in improving patient safety. Aim: This study aims at assessing nurse interns' performance related to patient safety. Research design: A descriptive design was used to carry out this study. Study setting: The study was conducted at Ain-Shams University Hospitals. Study subjects: 139 nurse interns' whom are path from fourth year at faculty of nursing Ain-Shams University. Tools: Data were collected by using observational checklist for nurse interns’ safety performance. Result: Demonstrates that 88.5% of nurse interns performed task concerning prevention healthcare acquired infections unlike the other patient safety tasks. Conclusion: Nurse interns in the study settings need to upgrade performance related to patient safety . Nursing mangment is essential for long term epidural analgesia to reduce the risk of complications. Aim: This study aimed to assess nurses' performance regarding care of patients with long term epidural catheter. Design: A descriptive exploratory research design was used to achieve the aim of this study. Setting: This study was conducted at Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University (CU). Subject: A convenient sample of all-available nurses (40) working within the previous mentioned setting. Tools: (I) Nurses' self-administered questionnaire. It is was composed of two parts. demographic characteristic and assessment of nurses' knowledge regarding care of patients with long term epidural catheter, (II) Nurse's practice observational checklist, and (III) Nurses' attitude (Likert Scale ) . Results: 68% of the studied nurses had unsatisfactory level of knowledge regarding care of long term epidural catheter, 60% of the studied nurses had unsatisfactory level of total practices regarding care of long-term epidural catheter and 55% of the studied nurses had negative attitude regarding care of long-term epidural catheter. Conclusion : this study concluded that more than two thirds of the studied nurses had unsatisfactory level of knowledge, three fifths of them had unsatisfactory level of practices and more than half of them had negative attitudes regarding care of patients with long-term epidural catheter. There was statistically significant difference between nurses' total knowledge and age and years of experience at (p<0.05), there was statistically significant difference between total practices and nurses' age at (p<0.05).and there was statistically significant differences between total attitude and nurses' age, gender, marital status, level of education and years of experience in the studied sample at (p>0.05) There was significant positive correlation between nurse‘s knowledge and attitude r=0.507, P<0.00. Aim: Evaluate the effect of using virtual reality on pain management during wound dressing in burn patients. Design: A Quasi-experimental design was utilized for this study. Setting: The study was conducted in Ahl Masr Hospital. Subjects : Purposive samples of 40 patients with burn injuries. Tools of data collection. Tool I: Structured interview Questionnaire which consists of 2 parts : Part 1 : Demographic characteristics Assessment -Medical Data. Part 2: Abbreviated Burn Severity Index (ABSI), Tool II: Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain scale. Results: of this study showed that 40% of patients in the virtual reality did not have pain and 30% had only moderate pain during dressing change compared to37.5% in the patients without virtual reality burn wound dressing had only no pain. In addition, the severe pain during dressing change reduced in the using virtual reality to 35% compared to 25% in the patients without virtual reality group. Therefore, there were statistical significant differences between the patients with and without virtual reality burn wound dressing (P<0.00). Conclusion: The study found that virtual reality technology was effective in reducing pain, shortening dressing change time, and helping children's baseline pain levels return to normal.
