Oral leukoplakia (OL) is a non-scrapable white plaque lesion on oral mucosa and one of OPMD. Lack of knowledge about signs and symptoms of OPMD and health care providers are responsible for delays in establishing the diagnosis. Objectives: to improve health care provider’s knowledge and the importance of detecting leukoplakia as an early sign of malignancy. Case: A 30-year-old woman came to the oral disease clinic at Hasan Sadikin Hospital complaining of canker sores and a lump on right tongue that had not been healed since 3 months ago. She had history of chronic irritation on tongue which was bitten by linguoversion tooth 46. Intraorally there was a solid mass, irregular edge in lateral right tongueat region tooth 46, 1.5 x 0.5 cm in size and a white plaque at region 46-48, 11 x 10 mm in size, could not be scrapped, unpainful on touched but felt sore when eating and drinking. Based on anamnesis, extraoral and intraoral examination, the working diagnosis was suspected fibroma region 46 and OL region 46-48. Case management: Pharmacological manage,ment was povidone-iodine mouthwash and referred to Oral Surgery Department. Well-differentiated OSCC was made as definitive diagnosis, based on histopathological examination and CT-Scan which showed bilateral lymph nodes enlargement. The patient was referred to Haemato-oncology Department for chemotherapy. Conclusion: it is important to do histopathological examination and CT-Scan as an effort for establishing OL as the early sign of malignancy. Keywords :          Oral cancer, Oral leukoplakia, Oral potentially malignant disorders ","PeriodicalId":31189,"journal":{"name":"Dentino Jurnal Kedokteran Gigi","volume":"137 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86490844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impact is that victims are difficult to identify. One of the identification methods that can be used is dental restorative materials with observing changes in color and weight that occur in dental restorative materials due to exposure to high temperatures. Composite resin is a dental restorative material that is often used because it has good aesthetics, physical and mechanical properties. Purpose: This study to determine the effect of high temperature on weight and color changes in nanohybrid and bulkfill composite resin as a reference for forensic identification. Method: This research is an experimental laboratory with a pre and post-test control group design. A total of 30 nanohybrid composite resin samples and 30 bulkfill composite resin samples were divided into 5 groups consisting of 4 treatment groups and 1 control group. The treatment group was heated at four temperature groups, 30°C-200°C, 30°C- 400°C, 30°C-800°C and 30°C-1100°C using a furnace (Thermo Scientific, USA). Weight changes were measured using a digital scale (Ohaus,China) and color changes were observed using the Shade Guide (Vitapan Classical, Germany). Result: A change in color and weight of the nanohybrid composite resin and bulkfill after being heated at high temperatures. Two-Way ANOVA test and Post Hoc LSD test showed that there was a significant difference in weight between nanohybrid composite resin and bulk fill composite resin at each temperature interval (p<0.001). Sialolithiasis was the most common disease of salivary glands with a percentage of about 50%, and approximately 80-90% occurs in the submandibular gland. This paper analyzes the sialolithiasis in the submandibular gland being reviewed from the radiograph.  Radiography screening becomes one of the most essential supporting examinations to help enforce the diagnosis and treatment plan to be conducted.Case : A 33-year-old patient was seen in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of General Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia. The chief complaint of swelling in the right side of his lower jaw was under the chin. Multi-imaging and radiography modalities screening were panoramic, occlusal, cervical, CT Scan, USG, and sialography. Case management : On radiographic examination, radiological suspicion was sialolithiasis with a well-defined and irregularly shaped radiopaque lesion in the lower right jaw area. Therefore, radiographic techniques with different modalities were performed to support each other in delivering accurate radiodiagnosis. The prevalence of caries in Indonesia gets 90% in the toddler population. A mother's knowledge about dental health will determine the mother's attitude towards children's dental health care, and low maternal knowledge is associated with high caries prevalence. The working area of the Bangsalsari Public Health Center is one of the areas in Jember that have a relatively high number of caries cases in toddlers, which is more than half of the number of toddlers experiencing caries. The study aims to analyse the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of mothers in the maintenance of dental health of toddlers in the work area of the Bangsalsari Public Health Center, Jember. Methods: This type of research is analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. The research subjects were selected by a total sampling technique and obtained by as many as 126 mothers of toddlers. Data were collected using a knowledge and attitude questionnaire each containing 10 questions. The research data that have been obtained are then carried out with a nonparametric Spearman correlation test. Results: Spearman test shows a significant value of 0.000 (p<0.05), the correlation value obtained is r = 0.824 with a positive value. Dentures should be cleaned frequently to help maintain their quality, particularly using a denture cleanser. The most widely-used denture cleanser in the community is alkaline peroxide. Alkaline peroxide can effectively inhibit the growth of Candida albicans on dentures. However, long-term use of alkaline peroxide may lead to discoloration of the acrylic resin denture base. The 30% of kelakai leaves extract may be used as an alternative to denture cleanser, because it is recognized to have antifungal properties and is expected to be capable of minimizing the effect of discoloration. The clinical oral cavity characteristics of children with intellectual disabilities include a high prevalence of periodontal disease and dental caries. South Kalimantan is a wetland or marsh that contains acidic water with a pH of 3.5-4.5. The acidic condition causes tooth demineralization, which can lead to caries. Oral health education through special needs children dental health education (DHE) interactive video is needed. Objective. Analysing the effectiveness of dental health education (DHE) video media for special needs children living in wetlands during the Covid-19 pandemic on the oral hygiene status of children with intellectual disabilities. Methods. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest, posttest without control design and using a simple random sampling technique. The samples were 52 children with intellectual disabilities who were subjected to the OHI-S examination before watching a DHE video for children with intellectual disabilities made by the author as a pretest. Afterward, the children were instructed to watch a 5-minute video made by the author using the Makaton method. Posttest involved OHIS reexamination after watching the video for 20 consecutive days. Data were analysed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. Results. There were 29 children with fair OHI-S (55.8%), 15 with poor OHI-S (28.8%), and 8 with good OHI-S (15.4%). The result of the Wilcoxon test indicated a value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion. OHI-S score before the DHE video treatment was fair and improved to good after the DHE video.
