There has been a reliable personality battery, Tokyo University Egogram (TEG). Recent topic includes TEG new version 3 for clinical introduction. Using TEG ver.3, university students were investigated for their egogram pattern. Subjects & Methods: Subjects were 99 late teenagers. They were given lectures of TEG and their data was analyzed three months after the admission of the university. Results: TEG ver3 presents 33 egogram types which are related to the personality of Japanese people. Among them, there were four higher prevalence of egogram types, which were Free Child (FC) dominant, Adapted Child (AC) dominant, Critical Parent (CP) inferior and Child (C) Dominant. The percentage datum of current study vs previous standard value in each type was 10 vs 6.8%, 26 vs 6.1%, 8 vs 2.1% 9 vs 1.1%, respectively. Discussion & Conclusion: These four types are estimated as free-spirit, dependent, loose and selfishness. Elevated FC and AC would be probably due to the influence of educational and social environment in Japan. Among them, high school students must study hard for entrance exams without meaningful social experiences. Further investigation will be required for TEG.","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125635476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Patients present with pruritus, excoriations, stinging or formication for which no physical explanation can be found. There is the belief on the part of the patient that their skin is infested by insects or inanimate objects. It is estimated that a dermatologist may see one case every 7 years (Suh, 2018). Morgellons disease is a disputed condition which may fall under the umbrella term of delusional parasitosis. In this condition any areas of concern on the skin are believed to contain foreign material, usually coloured fibres. There is often an overlap of delusional parasitosis with other mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. Successful treatment requires a multi-modal approach in the form of medication (usually antipsychotics), psychotherapy and the input of various specialists (dermatology and psychiatry). Primary care -general practitioners in particular - has a central role to play by orchestrating this process so that a satisfactory outcome is achieved.","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121120675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some over the counter items may negatively affect the health of the host, supporting the concept of the “hygiene hypothesis”, that is, that disease may be actually caused by the lack of beneficial commensal bacteria. Recent reports on the gluten metabolizing genus, Rothia, and a possible association with Celiac Disease beg the question, what happened to the Rothia? In this study inhibitory factors, such as, Over The Counter oral hygiene products and antagonistic bacteria were investigated and, in vitro, significantly inhibited the gluten metabolizing bacteria, possibly affecting human digestion and contributing to gluten sensitivity.","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"358 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127580132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consecutively, egogram analysis has been prevalent by 5 egos including Critical Parent (CP), Nurturing Parent (NP), Adult (A), Free Child (FC) and Adapted Child (AC). In Japan, Tokyo University Egogram (TEG) has been used, and authors have continued egogram research for long. Methods and Results: Subjects were 502 university students. They answered TEG questionnaire with the evaluation of the personality trait. Out of 29 personality pattern, 6 types were more than standard data. They are dependent, short-tempered, self-centered, conflict, solitude and pessimist types. During 10 years of our research, self-centered and solitude have been increasing, and good-hearted and playboy types have been decreasing. Discussion: From current data, several tendency would be speculated: Lower NP seems to be a characteristic for modern university students. It may be related with a noticeable decline in overall morality among younger generations in Japan. Furthermore, the prevalence of internet in the world may influence of the behavior of young people. Not actual experience but information on the internet can make them refrain from active human relations to others. These results would be expected to become useful reference data.","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116377567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scientists have learned that very young infants experience shame (as a personal feeling of unworthiness and shame), when they experience rejection-even if it is unintentional. Children, who are admonished for doing something over which they have limited or no control, are also capable of feeling shame. On a more serious, long-lasting scale, physical and sexual abuse and other traumatic experiences, particularly those that happen directly to the child, without adequate intervention, may lead to the development of shame as well. Considering the origin of the shame-wound is critical as well. If one is the child of abusive and/or addicted parents, their shame could have been an emotional and psychological transplant. Assessing if the shame is a consequence of actions, inactions, or someone elses conflicts, can allow for internal conflict resolution.","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131358529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are no certification and standards for schools that train service dogs in Canada and the United States. Does the fact that training is different from one school to another have an impact on the effectiveness of the assistance dog for his master? To identify all aspects that closely reflect tertiary prevention, this exploratory case study documents the processes and services supporting the assignment of service dogs to veterans with PTSD and the subsequent follow-up conducted at various dog training schools; and it evaluates and compares the processes and services in place. The case study included four data collection methods involving 31 veterans, 7 school delegates, 7 trainers and 23 dogs. Qualitative content analysis and all the information collected was rated according to the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) and Assistance Dogs International (ADI) criteria. Results indicated a TDF-scoring across 12 domains ranged from 6/24 to 16/24. The schools moderately reflected ADI-standards. Tertiary prevention recommendations were proposed for dog trainers to better address the domains that needed improving at the time of the study (knowledge about PTSD, beliefs about capabilities, behavioral regulation, environmental context and resources, beliefs about consequences, nature of behaviors).","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128065739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The field of psychology continues to provide valuable information, research and insight on the role and power of thought, both conscious and unconscious. Resentments, anger, and past hurts, not properly processed, contributes to depression, anxiety, stress, and a persistent sense of chronic loneliness in life. Specifically, relationships are the front lines in carrying the toll for one’s unprocessed resentments, both in perpetuating the same hurts on to others, or tragically ending up as the victim. It is possible that by conducting a Personal Inventory, one can begin to have insight into their personal character and the system from which they operate. The information and patterns garnered from such an analysis, can readily offer the open-minded individual with inspiring new insights and required actions, regarding their relationship trajectory.","PeriodicalId":311654,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss: Psychiatry Open Access","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129835155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
