One important factor in pakcoy cultivation is the use of planting media. The main objective was to find out the best media combination and frequency to apply fertilizers for efficiency in intensive growing. The research was conducted in Cikabayan, IPB Bogor using RAL Factorial with six treatment combination and three replications. The first factor was media combination (rice husk, cocopeat, and compost), while the second factor was fertilization frequency (every week and every two weeks). Parameters observation consists of vegetative growth (plant height, number of leaves wide and length of leaves, and width of the stump) and plant production (wet weight and weight suitable for consumption). Research results indicated that planting media combination of rice husk and compost (1:1) gave a better result than other treatments in increasing leaf length (11.36 cm) and wet weight (47.12 grams). The frequency of application of foliar fertilizer had no different effect on pakcoy growth and yield and no interaction significantly between media combination and fertilization frequency.","PeriodicalId":311412,"journal":{"name":"Gontor AGROTECH Science Journal","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124006542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is influenced by changes in weather and climate which lead to the low resistance of chili plants to pests and diseases. Climate change can affect the existence of pests and diseases in plants and even reduce yields between 10-28% on a global scale. Bacteria, in association with plants, can be both pathogenic and non-pathogenic. While pests tend to have a negative relationship with plants because they can cause damage to plants. Banyumas Regency (Central Java) is one of the districts that contribute to the supply of chili which is important to increase production. This study aims to distinguish pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria, which are carried by insects in chili planting fields in 3 (three) endemic locations for pest attacks, namely Sumbang, Sokaraja, and Karanglewas Districts. The research was conducted from March to November 2021. As many as 83.33% of the total grown isolates did not show hypersensitive reactions while the others showed positive results. However, further research needs to be carried out for further research (characterization, identification, and other potential of the isolated insect-borne bacteria).","PeriodicalId":311412,"journal":{"name":"Gontor AGROTECH Science Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131250832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Control of BPB chemically with fungicide is considered to be effective enough to suppress BPB both in vitro and in the field. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of several fungicide active ingredients that are widely used in BPB control, namely Chlorotalonil, Azoxystrobin, Mankozeb, and Phosphoric Acid. Efficacy tests were carried out on sample plant plots consisting of 25 sample trees for each treatment of the active ingredient of the fungicide. Fungicide application was carried out 3 times (2-week intervals) within 3 months. BPB attack intensity was calculated to obtain the Efficacy Level (TE) category of the active ingredients used. The fungicide with the active ingredient phosphite acid showed the highest efficacy level of 30.06%, while the active ingredients Azoxystrobin and Mankozeb had TE values of 29.01% and 28.23%, respectively. The lowest result was the function with the active ingredient Chlorotalonil with a TE percentage of only 4.13%.","PeriodicalId":311412,"journal":{"name":"Gontor AGROTECH Science Journal","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116450963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are antagonistic fungi from citrus plants that can be used to control pathogens, namely Gliocladium sp. and Trichoderma sp. Antagonistic fungi will be able to control pathogens optimally if they have growth conditions that match their environment. This study aims to determine the growth development of Trichoderma sp. and Gliocladium sp. at several temperatures, media, exposure lengths, and types of light. The treatments used were four different temperatures (20°C, 25°C, 30°C, 35°C), three media (PDA, PDAY, and CMA), several exposure times (24 hours of light and 24 hours of dark, 8 hours of light and 16 hours of darkness, 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness) and the type of light (light from a reading lamp placed very close, light from a lamp placed habitually, and dark wrapped in carbon). The treatment used a completely randomized design (CRD) and was repeated 5 times. The test results showed that the two isolates could develop optimally on PDA and PDAY media with the best temperature of 20°C-25°C. In addition, testing of various rays showed the results of the fastest development by Trichoderma sp. under natural light treatment. Furthermore, the best length exposure test was Trichoderma sp. with a lighting time of 12 hours light and 12 hours dark. In general, the development of the two antagonistic fungal isolates had relatively the same optimal development conditions, but Trichoderma sp. has better development on various tests.","PeriodicalId":311412,"journal":{"name":"Gontor AGROTECH Science Journal","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117200594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was conducted at the TEFA Coffee Stub-Agricultural Plant Processing Laboratory, Politeknik Negeri Jember in April-July 2022. The coffee samples were Robusta coffee originating from the Gumitir area, Jember. This research consists of two main stages, green bean processing (dry (natural), honey, semi-wet, and full wash process) and roasting process based on light, medium, and dark levels. The analysis result showed that there was a decrease in the water content of coffee beans in each processing method as the roasting level increased. Overall, the water content of roast beans from full wash processing has the highest level compared to roast beans from other processed methods. The water content of green beans was originally 12.65%, decreased to 3.91%, 3.90%, and 3.38% after roasting with light, medium, and dark levels. The darker the roast level, the more weight loss. A significant decrease in water content was obtained in green beans processed by the honey method. Initially, the green bean water content was 13.05%, decreasing to 2.36%, 2.14, and 1.34% at each roasting level. Meanwhile, the green beans produced from natural processing (dry process), semi-wet, and full wash resulted in a decrease in water content that was not significant as the roasting level increased. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to carry out further research related to the relationship between processing methods and roasting level on the physicochemical characteristics of coffee beans by optimizing.","PeriodicalId":311412,"journal":{"name":"Gontor AGROTECH Science Journal","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127706335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
