In the east Africa region, future projections indicate that the demand for milk will have tripled by 2050. However, milk supply is not predicted to increase and match demand indicating an inevitable shortage in the supply. Supply chain management is paramount in enhancing efficient production and supply of products from the farm level to the consumers factoring in the consumers' requirements in terms of reliability, quantity, quality and price. It is therefore critical to do an in-depth analysis on the importance of supply chain management training intervention in the milk supply chains among smallholder dairy farmers to respond to the shortfalls in future demand. This study consequently sought to determine the effect of supply chain management training on milk production among smallholder dairy farmers in Trans-Nzoia County, Kenya. The Rational Choice Theory guided this study. The study adopted a descriptive research design. A sample size of 1875 dairy farmers was selected to participate in the study. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire. The primary data were analyzed using SPSS. The Standard Poisson model results revealed that age, education, and marital status of the household head, herd size, road condition, milk volume, distance to milk output market, and household size were significant contributors to the use of motorcycle services. The study established that dairy farmers' supply chain management training intervention significantly affected milk production in Trans Nzoia County (F=39, p < 0.05). The study concluded that supply chain management training intervention was paramount in enhancing milk production. Therefore this study recommends that county governments should set up mechanisms through which interventions will be enacted to help farmers enhance their dairy yields. As such, the government should consider setting up workshops through which farmers will be enlightened on various supply and value chain factors for optimal production.","PeriodicalId":311298,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of Business and Finance","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115234561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Little is known about the results of policy efforts made towards this end over the past two decades. This study therefore evaluates the effect of Kenya’s competitive advantage, inflation, investment and exchange rate on the performance of Kenya’s exports over the period 1997-2021. Time series data was used and ARDL model was estimated. The unit root test results found that all variables were stationary at first difference. The ARDL model results showed that revealed comparative advantage, gross capital formation, openness has a long-run positive effect on export performance, while; exchange rate and real interest rate had a negative long-run effect on the exports. In the short-run comparative advantage, investment,, openness have positive effect, whereas; real interest rate, exchange rate, and inflation rate had a negative effect on the exports. It is therefore recommended that Kenya should: enhance investment in the industries they have a competitive advantage in; continue pursuing openness policies; maintain low inflation and interest rates, and stabilize the exchange rate. \u0000  \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":311298,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of Business and Finance","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124572419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research study employed the positivism research philosophy and a descriptive research design. The multistage sampling method (homogenous purposive sampling, stratified random sampling, and simple random sampling) was applied to draw 327 middle-level managers from the target population. Using linear regression analysis, this research study established that lack of clear approach to strategy implementation significantly influenced the performance of commercial state corporations in Kenya. The findings of this study indicated that having no preferences to strategy implementation had a negative and significant influence on the financial performance of commercial state corporations in Kenya (p < 0.05), but having no routine and having no control systemhad no statistically significant influence on the financial performance (p > 0.05). The findings of this study also indicated that having no preferences had a negative and significant influence on the customer satisfaction of commercial state corporations in Kenya (p < 0.05), but no routine and no control systems had no statistically significant influence on the customer satisfaction (p > 0.05). This research study concludes that lack of a clear approach to the implementation of strategy erodes the performance of commercial state corporations in Kenya, and therefore recommends that in order to enhance performance, the top management of commercial state corporations should ensure budget provisions for strategy implementation activities, develop a strategy implementation roadmap, ensure the engagement of all stakeholders in the development process, and identify the specific tasks required to realize strategic goals.","PeriodicalId":311298,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of Business and Finance","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125016510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the articulation of the unique capabilities necessary for creation of superior value for customers and a prerequisite for the achievement of sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) continue to be unsettled. It is against this puzzle that this study aimed to establish the sources of SCA in a dynamic and turbulent business environment. The specific objectives that guided the study were to establish the influence of superior strategic capabilities that included knowledge management, organizational innovation, social capital integration and organizational agility, on SCA. The study was underpinned on the resource-based view, and dynamic capabilities. The study was a theoretical review that critically analysed past theoretical and empirical literature on the subject. Though the extant literature was mixed, the study concluded that knowledge management capabilities, organizational innovation capabilities, social capital integration capabilities and organizational agility capabilities are essentially instrumental towards sustainable competitive advantage. The study recommends that top management team in organizations should continually nurture knowledge management capabilities such as knowledge acquisition, knowledge codification, and knowledge utilization so as to enhance value creation. In addition, senior management should continually support acquisition and development of new resources, and create structures that enhance partnership and interaction between employees within and across departments.","PeriodicalId":311298,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of Business and Finance","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114220394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, diminishing organization performance impacts their work and overall social impact. The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of strategic options on the performance of health NGOs in Kenya. The study was grounded on contingency theory and it utilized positivistic research philosophy and cross-sectional research design. The target population of the study was 564 chief executive officers (CEOs) and program directors of 282 national NGOs registered with the NGO coordination board. A sample size of 234 was selected using a random stratified sampling technique that involved 8 regions as strata. Data collection was through a structured questionnaire, while inferential (confirmatory factor analysis – CFA, and structural equation modelling – SEM) and descriptive statistical techniques (frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations) were used for data analysis. SPSS Version 26 and Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) version 26 software were used for the analysis. The study findings established that strategic options have a significant positive influence on organization performance among national health NGOs in Kenya (r squared = 0.57, beta = 0.756, CR = 7.446, p < 0.05). The study concludes that selecting the strategic option that aligns with the organization’s context is essential for the organization performance of national health NGOs in Kenya. The study recommends that senior management of national health NGOs should critically consider the three generic strategies of cost leadership, focus and differentiation and select the one that aligns with their contexts to attain their organization performance objectives.","PeriodicalId":311298,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of Business and Finance","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134564758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
