Different proportions of Jhama brick (15%, 25%, and 35%) were tested in M25 grade concrete. Testing included fresh and hardened concrete characteristics like workability and compressive strength at 7 and 28 days. Results showed that a 25% replacement of Jhama brick was cost-effective and had suitable strength for moderate load structures, although overall strength was lower than standard concrete. Essentially, the self-repair of concrete occurs when cracks close due to the rehydration of unhydrated or inadequately hydrated cement particles within damaged areas. Bacterial concrete facilitates crack healing by converting calcium lactate to calcium carbonate through microbiological processes, leading to the cessation of crack propagation. Bacillus genus demonstrates impressive efficacy in diverse conditions for concrete reinforcement. Concrete vulnerabilities to attacks are inherent and cannot be entirely prevented. Water infiltration through these cracks initiates corrosion, significantly reducing the lifespan of concrete. Hence, there was a pressing need to develop and activate biomaterials for a self-repairing technique that could effectively address cracks and fissures in concrete. Bio-concrete emerges as a promising solution for enhancing concrete durability. This approach is highly desirable as it promotes eco-friendly crack remediation, employing Bacillus megaterium to induce artificial crack healing in cement concrete. Specimens were cast and subjected to mechanical strength and water absorption tests after 7 and 28 days of curing. Results show a notable improvement in compressive and flexural strengths by 12.91% and 9.02% respectively, compared to standard M25 grade concrete mix, after 28 days of curing. Additionally, bacterial concrete exhibits lower water absorption values than standard concrete mix, attributed to crack filling via calcite precipitation facilitated by Bacillus megaterium bacteria.Consequently, Bacillus megaterium, belonging to the Bacillus family, proves to be an effective agent for enhancing mechanical strength by reducing voids in concrete. Key Word: Bacillus Megaterium, compressive strength, bio-concrete, water permeability, activated biomaterial, flexural strength, water absorption.","PeriodicalId":310227,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Scientific Research In Engineering & Technology","volume":"4 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140697834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It usually involves a multidisciplinary team with the local governing body and other stakeholders to check for potential safety issues and bring improvements within the same. The purpose of this review paper is to study the causes of road accidents and identify the active blackspots present in Raipur city. The goal is to prevent accidents by making sure road infrastructure is designed and optimised for safety and efficiency. According to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, road accident blackspot on National Highways is a road stretch of about 500m in length in which either 5 road accidents (involving fatalities/grievous injuries) took place during the last three calendar years or 10 fatalities took place during the last three calendar years. Through detailed study and analysis, one can surmise that Road Safety Analysis can be easily broken down to factors such as types of road users, presence of traffic calming devices, weather conditions, whether users possess a driver’s licence and much more. Furthermore, it is important to address the deficiency and failure of one or more elements in road infrastructures to curb the issue of road accidents by understanding the data obtained accordingly. Traditional waste collection systems often face challenges in optimizing resources and addressing environmental concerns. This work presents the I Dustbin, an innovative solution designed to enhance waste management processes through the integration of sensor technologies and automated features. The I Dustbin incorporates two key sensors: a garbage sensor and a level sensor. The garbage sensor detects the presence of waste within the bin, while the level sensor provides real-time monitoring of the garbage level. These sensors are seamlessly connected to a microcontroller, which processes the data and controls the system's functionalities. To improve user experience and facilitate waste disposal, the I Dustbin is equipped with a motorized lid. The lid automatically opens and closes, allowing for hands-free waste disposal. Additionally, an LED indicator is integrated to visually communicate the garbage level, providing users with clear and intuitive feedback. The LED indicator employs different colours or patterns to signify whether the dustbin is empty, at medium capacity, or full.","PeriodicalId":310227,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Scientific Research In Engineering & Technology","volume":"10 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140714681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
