With these platforms, users have the freedom to share their opinions as well as receive information from a diverse group of people. Although this could be beneficial, there are some growing concerns regarding its negative impact on the safety of its users such as the spread of suicidal ideation. Therefore, in this study, we aim to determine the performance of machine classifiers in identifying suicide-related text from Twitter (tweets). The experiment for the study was conducted using four popular machine classifiers: Decision Tree, Naive Bayes, Random Forest and Support Vector Machine. The results of the experiment showed an F-measure ranging from 0.346 to 0.778 for suicide-related communication, with the best performance being achieved using the Decision Tree classifier.","PeriodicalId":309312,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126500813","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The CamShift algorithm is used to analyze the dynamic vision acquired by a pair of stereo cameras in three-dimension space. Afterwards, inverse and forward kinematics of manipulator and fingers are performed to drive the robot hand to appropriate position and grab a cup. In addition, a coordinate estimation correction method was proposed to improve the accuracy of the calculated position. The proposed method is validated in several experiments.","PeriodicalId":309312,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121477488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the United States, an estimated 640 million dollars is lost annually due to BRD. Respiratory diseases are responsible for 21.3% of mortality in calves and 50.4% of deaths in weaned heifers. Additionally, there are many negative long-term consequences for survivor calves including poor growth, reproductive performance, milk production, and longevity and can become sources of infection for other calves, and can cause outbreaks after weaning in-group pens. BRD poses huge challenges and economic losses to the dairy industry. This research paper addresses the challenge by developing and deploying Convolutional neural networks (CNN) that proactively detect BRD in cow's cough and alerts dairy farmer. The paper presents prototyping solution of Dairy IoT Cow $NecKlace^{TM}$ as well as its application and experimental results.","PeriodicalId":309312,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC)","volume":"169 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116129056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most of the current studies are based on those popular languages such as Chinese and English, and there is a little research on minority languages. To this end, the speech parameter generation and emotional speech synthesis for Malay are studied in this paper. We first used recurrent neural network (RNN) to capture the features of dependencies in Malay, and the parametric model was established through multivariate feature matrices for Malay texts using long short-term (LSTM). Most of the inputs are audio and corresponding triphone models which are obtained after a series of segmentation in the process of speech synthesis. There are few emotional components remained in the segmented results. This paper used LSTM RNN to directly model on the waveform of Malay speech and to keep emotions as much as possible. Experimental results on real-life data showed that the synthesis of Malay speech parameter based on LSTM RNN model achieved satisfying performance which are 1.16 and 0.25 improvements in two indexes respectively and applying that model in Malay emotional speech synthesis reached the precision of 85.46%.","PeriodicalId":309312,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131261624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, current researches normally treat all facial patches equally and do not consider the fact that different facial patches may have unequal contributions to the SR. Regarding that AdaBoost, a classical ensemble method, has a natural weighted update scheme, this paper aims to develop a weighted-patch super-resolution approach based on the framework of AdaBoost. In the training phase, each facial patch is weighted automatically according to the difference between reconstructed patch and original patch in current iteration, which can assign more weights to the worse performed patches with lower reconstruction power in next iteration. The experimental results on two benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":309312,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (ICMLC)","volume":"273 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134288754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
