It is also important that the employee works in the office in a healthy, efficient, willing, and appropriate manner. Ergonomics is defined as the process of adapting people and their environment to each other physically and psychologically, as the most comfortable way to use human skills without forcing them physically and spiritually. In today's modern world, most office workers face a variety of problems in terms of the environmental and physical conditions of their work environment. This adversely affects the health and mental health of employees and their work productivity. It is necessary to organize office spaces where the employee is prevented from being inadequate in the face of developing technology, machinery and operating systems and is ergonomically considered healthy. All these arrangements must be made with the human anthropometric measurements, anatomical structure, physiological capacity, and tolerances in mind. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of office ergonomics on business efficiency by addressing the importance of ergonomics science. In this objective, the health and work efficiency of the employees in the perspective of the components that make up the workplace have been analyzed. The study found that factors such as illumination system, sound and noise control, air conditioning system, vehicle-equipment compatibility and color preference have significant impact on employees in the working environment","PeriodicalId":30769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ergonomi Indonesia","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89374343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Occupational hygiene includes identifying, measuring, and analyzing the physical, chemical, ergonomic and biological risks that employees are exposed to in their working environment. Whether the exposures in the working environment are at a level that will affect human health is determined by making measurements and analyses with some standards. One of the most important factors in the physical risks group is thermal comfort. In working environments where thermal comfort is not balanced, diseases caused by exposure to heat and cold may occur, and the risk of occupational accidents increases due to not paying attention to the work being done. Measurements are made using the TS EN ISO 7730 standard to evaluate the thermal comfort in the working environment. In this study, thermal comfort measurements were carried out in the operating room rooms, which the employees described as cold. Our aim is to determine whether the operating room workers are exposed to cold stress. The measurements were carried out in 12 different operating room rooms of a research hospital. It was observed that PMV indexes remained within the limit values. The highest PPD index was calculated as 34.11%. The findings of this study show that there is no cold stress exposure in the operating room rooms where the study was carried out.","PeriodicalId":30769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ergonomi Indonesia","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80891944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Another aim of the study is to examine the relationship between demographic variables, OHS culture and safe behaviors. In the study, \"OHS Culture Scale\" by Olcay (2021) was used to measure OHS culture, and \"Safe Behavior Scale\" of Dursun (2011) was used to measure safe behavior. The results obtained showed that the scores obtained from the measurement tools do not have a normal distribution. Accordingly, it was decided to analyze the data using nonparametric analysis techniques. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, it has been concluded that the demographic characteristics of the employees do not have much effect on their perceptions of OHS culture and safe behaviors. The total scores of the general occupational safety awareness OHS culture scale showed a significant difference according to the income level of the people participating in the study. OHS training-communication scores of employees who do not have children were found to be significantly higher. Occupational health and safety culture scale total scores of employees whose relatives had an occupational accident were found to be significantly higher. It was observed that as the total scores of the occupational health and safety culture scale increased, the total scores of the scale of compliance with safety, participation in safety and safe behavior also increased.","PeriodicalId":30769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ergonomi Indonesia","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90227834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
