The use of digital platforms to engage with other farmers and consumers in the agricultural industry has recently been advocated. Particularly social media have come to light as user-friendly and easily accessible tools for farmers. This study, based on the uses and Gratifications Theory, employs structured interviews with Bangladeshi farmers to study how they see social media as tools for their agricultural practices. The study reveals that farmers stay connected on social media like Facebook groups, Messenger groups, Facebook pages, and YouTube channels. They prefer social media to traditional sources of agricultural information. From obtaining ideas for agricultural output to marketing agricultural products, they use them for a variety of purposes. As shown by the results, farmers claim to use social media to communicate with consumers, look for agricultural information, and keep continuous communication with customers leading to the creation of a brand. While using social media, they face several problems like inadequacy of information and confusing information. Many of their expectations from the government to overcome these limitations emerge from the interview. Farmers expressed their expectation that government-certified doctors’ active participation and easy access to them on social media, especially for treatment-related information, would play a vital role in their farming.","PeriodicalId":307123,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Media, Journalism and Mass Communications","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123565569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wherever people live in peace, there has to be a conscious effort in fulfilling the demands of mutual respect. Despite the various attempts at infra-faith cohesion or ecumenism in Nigeria, the Church is contending with challenges which stand in the way of smooth intra-faith relations. Apart from theological differences arising from different concepts of the faith and ecumenism, the Church is faced with liturgical differences. This not with standing is attributed to the socio-economic structure of the society. Even after the advent of conventional media, the patronage remained economically driven and motivated. This means, affording television set, radio set and purchasing newspaper is highly concentrated in the hands of economically viable audience. The eventuality played significant role on the audience of mass media. As technology grew to a strong level, the conventional media access became cheaper. For instance, radio became the most ubiquitous communication gadget mainly because of the countless mediums through which its signals can be accessed. The importance of social networking became apparent in June 2009 when the American State Department asked the administration of Twitter to postpone their periodic maintenance so that they can follow the Iranian protests. Also, the importance of social media became clearer when a Twitter user in Indonesia was the first to tweet about Bali (Indonesia) explosions in July 2009 before most of the main news organizations. The social networks have changed the news industry and the practice of journalism. Google, Facebook and Twitter competed for the audience with The New York Times, the Guardian, CNN, and the BBC which was previously described as the Fourth State. Now, researchers are calling social media \"The Fifth State\" (Alegandro, 2010). Abstract: This study seeks to explore the nature of the relationship between Egyptian journalists and the Social Media through a survey conducted in July and August 2018 on a sample of 120 journalists working in some of the major national and private print and electronic newspapers and news sites. In addition, in-depth interviews were made with some of the editors and media professionals in these media organizations. The results showed that there is a growing trend among the respondents to use Social Media especially Facebook to promote newspapers and press content rather than as a source of information. There has been a consensus among journalists that emphasizes the importance of credibility more than achieving beat, for fear of publishing false news. Although, the study found that they are using social media as a source of information. Most of respondents expressed their fear that the future is for social media which can swallow the traditional media, and that they should unite in search for a new formula.","PeriodicalId":307123,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Media, Journalism and Mass Communications","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129768741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every General Entertainment Channel wants to have a Reality TV Show in their bouquet of programming.
