As a result of the research a number of facts were discovered about the mutual relations between Polish and Church Slavonic terminology. Most of the photos were taken by Smolski in his home village of Łuka. The article presents the image of the peasant world of the Narew, Orthodox villages. A photographer from Łuka took pictures that showed the private world of the peasants. What was captured in the photographs proves the strength of the rites of passage, which were of great importance in the peasant community as they strengthened family and neighborhood ties. They expressed the stages of a person’s life in a specific order in a closed cycle of births, weddings and funerals. The collected photos are also an important testimony to the micro-history of the Belarusians of Podlasie. Photographs are of great value for historical, cultural and social reasons. The process of selecting the Greek equivalents and assigning them to the appropriate Polish entries was difficult because of the number of Greek variants used in the Orthodox terminology, as well as the considerable amount of synonyms present in the Greek language, which is definitely the richest language in terms of history and theology. This refers to the attempts of the Uniates to convince the faithful of the material benefit of accepting a new jurisdiction, consisting in free occasional services, which Orthodox priests could not do, and obtaining church land at their disposal.It was with such proposals that the Uniate priests visited the parishes of Volyn and worried the local population. There are also some translations into modern languageBut as for hymnography and heortology, then here we meet only with the history of church holidays and the significance of these events in the matter of our salvation. And, to our great regret, there is practically no literary sources that reveal to a person all the beauty, richness and depth of dogmatic truths and moral commandments which our worship is so rich in.
