The 600MHz spectrum allocation is suitable for UHDTV satellite broadcasting. As a countermeasure for rain attenuation due to Ka-band characteristics, a strong forward error correction scheme must be implemented for stable signal reception. We have implemented the concatenated code of BCH and LDPC in the Q/8PSK wide-band modem, whose maximum symbol rate is 250Mbaud. Through measurements, we confirmed clear coding gain against QPSK and 8PSK with no FEC under AWGN.","PeriodicalId":306938,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130820131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we studied receiver desense caused by 2nd order nonlinearity of components in the signal chain. A practical case of two (bands 3 and 8) uplink aggregation and three (bands 3, 8 and 26) downlink carrier aggregation was considered to demonstrate greater than 20dB desense in band 26 receiver despite using state of the art frontend components including linear diplexer with IIP2 greater than +90dBm. It consists of adding an external transversal cell to a basic filter to create TZs in its response without damaging its in-band amplitude and group-delay variation. Thus, contrary to other filter design techniques, in-band requisites and stopband TZ creation can be separately addressed in the entire filter synthesis process. Such technique could have great potential in other technologies, such as waveguide filters for satellite communications, in which low in-band group-delay variation and adjustable high selectivity are necessary. Measurements for a microstrip HPF and simulations for a stripline dual-band BPF are shown.","PeriodicalId":306938,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124159137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The printed power divider has achieved a bandwidth of 2 to 20 GHz with typical 2 dB insertion loss, greater than 25 dB return loss, and better than 25 dB isolation performance across the majority of the band. The printed delay line has demonstrated 2 ns true time delay with excellent delay flatness across the entire band. This technique is a promising architecture for mm-wave communications, at frequencies where signal amplification, modulation and distribution at 4f0 are challenging. To achieve acceptable output signal accuracy, predistortion of the input is mandatory. In this work, we validate the architecture using a low (microwave) demonstration frequency of f0= 890MHz, with 4f0=3.56GHz. High-order modulation signals are directly applied to a quadrupler, and “quadrupling digital predistortion” (Q-DPD) is used to restore the signal modulation format at the output. With a 5MHz bandwidth 256-QAM signal, before predistortion the output signal has an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 138%. After Q-DPD, the 256-QAM output signal has an EVM of 1.8% and adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) of around -43dBc.","PeriodicalId":306938,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116322314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
