Haidu","doi":"10.24193/awc2022_19","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24193/awc2022_19","url":null,"abstract":"The task of our studies was represented by the seasonal microbial load analysis from some Romanian natural salted water sources (springs and lakes) in order to check the requested conditions for their use as balneal treatment in a safe way. In order to check if the seasonal environmental factors can change the microbial load of some natural salted springs, a set of microbiological analyses were carried out at a laboratory level. Our study was focused on the next microbial groups: mesophilic bacteria growing at 22o C, mesophilic bacteria growing at 37o C, total number of coliform bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella sp. The methods used for this purpose were those recommended by the specialized standards. This was done through linear regression analysis which involves quantifying the relationship between one independent variable (explanatory, predictor) and one dependent variable (response). Thus, in our study, the dependent variable is represented by the LST product obtained through MODIS sensors in the period 2014-2018, while the independent variable is represented by IMD. The coefficient of determination (R2) obtained, higher than 0.5 for most of the year, indicates a statistically significant relationship between LST and IMD. The highest values of R2 are identified during the day spring and summer seasons. Thus, 70% and respectively 80% of the spatial variation of LST is explained by the distribution of IMD during these two seasons and the regression coefficients indicate, on the one hand, that the relationship between the two variables is a direct one (LST values increase at the same time with IMD values), and on the other hand, that the increase of LST corresponds to a gradient between 0.3-0.6 oC per 10% IMD. During the day, the lowest values of R2 appear in autumn and winter seasons, as a result of the local topography that facilitates the frequency of thermal inversions in this period of the year. The realization of the fish ladder will not influence the flow regime of surface or groundwater in the neighboring area. The fish ladder is dimensioned to allow the migration of the ichthyofauna upstream during the spawning period and the partial transit of the alluviums as well as the downstream provision of a servitude flow Q = 0.066 mc / s. The Sebeșel 2 hydroelectric power plant is a hydropower arrangement by shunt without accumulation lake. The plant has 2 (two) power groups equipped with Pelton turbines. The power delivered by MHC Sebesel 2 is 792.31 kW. The installed flow rate is 0.80 m3 / s; gross fall: 120 m; capture rate 573 mdMN. The fish ladders are of the technical ladder type with pools. The objectives of the studies were: to describe the qualitative and quantitative structure of benthic invertebrate and fish macro communities; assessment of the ecological status of the rivers in the areas of hydropower development; highlighting the presence of fish species of conservative interest and assessing the status of their populations. The methodology was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Water Framework Directive, Annex V used considered the following: Assessment of the status of aquatic communities; description of the structure of fish communities; assessment of the ecological status of the river sectors. Evapotranspiration forecasting plays an important role in irrigation management and hydraulic designs, especially during dry periods. In this study, average temperature (T), relative humidity (RH), wind speed (U), solar radiation (SR) parameters were used to estimate the daily evapotranspiration amount. Daily evapotranspiration estimation (ET0) was made according to the Penman-Monteith method recommended by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) as a standard method. The Penman-Monteith method was considered as the reference equation. Support Vector Machines (SVM) methods with four different input combinations were used to estimate the daily evapotranspiration of Adana province. SVM models were compared with each other and the reference equations’ results. There is a great interest in creating a healthy and comfortable environment for the growing number of urban dwellers to live in, therefore different methods of combating and diminishing the urban heat island are being studied. One such method is to reduce the energy contribution of buildings to the formation of the urban heat island. In this paper we analyzed the effect of building envelopment, both by seasonal monitoring of surface temperatures using the thermal camera at different time intervals, and by numerical simulations of air temperature at different levels in the atmosphere, using ENVI-met, a three-dimensional non-hydrostatic microclimatic model. The data sets resulting from the monitoring of the surface temperature with the thermal camera showed that the temperature recorded at the surface is lower for the enveloped buildings than for the non-enveloped buildings, during the night but also during the day, less at noon. The numerical simulations were based on two scenarios: i) buildings with non-enveloped walls and ii) the same buildings but with enveloped walls, after running the scenarios for enveloped and non-enveloped buildings. It will be a question of understanding the interactions between these water bodies and territorial actors evolving on these limnic territories. Different managements are therefore imposed on each of the parties present. These managements are organized according to the limnological mechanisms specific to each environment (ponds and lakes), their temporality, their spatiality, and their risks for the human activities integrated into these water bodies. We will focus in this article on water and sediment movements not yet studied to interact with local managements. These phenomena constitute a base on which the actors around these water bodies can rely to guide the measures used to protect their activities. Konecsny","doi":"10.24193/awc2022_09","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24193/awc2022_09","url":null,"abstract":"In the middle of the 19th century, comprehensive river regulation and flood control works began on the entire lowland section of the Tisza/Tisa River. Soon, a number of water development plans were made for the catchment area of one of the tributaries, the River Túr/Tur. Plans outlining several technical alternatives have been prepared for the purpose of flood drainage, inland water drainage and water utilization. The implementation of the plans took place over decades, with construction started in 1914 interrupted due to the outbreak of World War I (Túr-Tisza branch channel). Most of the water facilities in the lower Hungarian section of the Túr River were built between 1926 and 1930 according to revised plans. The flood defense embankments on the Romanian river section were built in 1956-1957 and were further developed after the catastrophic floods of 1970, with half a dozen pumping stations set up to transfer the inland waters to the receiving area. Between 1972 and 1974, the Călineşti-Oaş dam and water reservoir were built. In our paper we describe the technical plans developed by the River Engineering Office in Szatmárnémeti (Satu Mare) at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century for the regulation of the Túr river. We present the findings of the technical review of the plan and the calculations made for the water supply of the reservoir. We describe the development of the hydrometric network necessary for the foundation of hydrological calculations. Giurgiu","doi":"10.24193/awc2022_03","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24193/awc2022_03","url":null,"abstract":"Heatwaves are recognized, although there is still no general acknowledged definition, as periods of unusually hot and dry or hot and humid weather, which occur gradually and cease in the same way, lasting at least 2 to 3 days with visible impact on human activities. Episodes characterized by heatwaves induce excessively hot weather compared to the local climatic specific features. The period with or without heatwaves is different from a region to another, depending on the particularities of each area. This climatological hazard can be described as an advection of tropical air mass which, compared to the climatological standards, leads to reaching large positive temperature deviations, that in some cases will set new thermal records. In the northern hemisphere, in the area of temperate latitudes, which includes Romania, the highest values of air temperature are generally recorded from mid-June to the end of August. Heatwaves in Romania are mainly generated by the advection of continental hot air masses from North Africa, leading to a stable stratification of the atmosphere from ground levels to more higher ones. The ridge of the North African anticyclone extends either over Central Europe or Central Eastern Europe, up to Romania, generating heatwaves for the first scenario in the western regions of our country, whereas or the second one outside the Carpathians, most frequently in the Romanian Plain. The main purpose is to highlight the differentiated exposure of selected cities to the occurence of this type of climatic hazard whose territorial distribution is closely dependent on the presence of evaporation sources in the region and which contributes to its intensification. In this sense, the relative air humidity ≥80% at 1 p.m. was also taken into account, so that the cumulative contribution of the two analzyed climatic parameters showed a high predisposition to the occurence of the fog phenomenon in general and especially in the cold season of the year.
