Mislabeled data are present in many real applications, but existing studies have not explored their influence on feature selection. We tested six well-known filter feature selection methods using datasets with pre-defined mislabeled ratios. Our results show that in most cases, feature selection performance degrades with increasing mislabeled ratios. We also evaluate the effects of mislabeled data on small size data feature selection and outline the more serious negative effects of mislabeled data. The results of this study suggest that most feature selection methods are not robust enough for noisy data containing mislabeled samples. Therefore, proper processing of noisy data before feature selection should be considered.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124853903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Assuming a Nakagami-m fading environment, we firstly obtain the effective end-to-end signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) expressions and then derive the closed-form approximate expression for the overall outage probability. Monte Carlo simulations verify the tightness of our approximation with the exact outage probability.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121283569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, a mathematic optimal model for the hyperspectral image compression ratio was established. Secondly, we analyzed the model and simplified it by Gaussian function. Finally, some real hyperspectral images' compression ratios were estimated using the model. Experiments show the relative error between the estimations and the simulation results is less than 5%, and 31.25% of the both results are exactly the same. In addition, the optimal model saves 70% of running time. These illustrate the high effectiveness and practicability of the optimal model.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127840717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Obtaining useful pattern from these data is an important direction of the trajectory data mining. In order to find these models, a good distance measurement between trajectories of moving object may be necessary. In this paper, we propose a new method of distance measurement, the Grid-Based DTW (GDTW). The trajectory will be converted into continuous grid cell, then get the distance by Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) measurement. This method can more effectively measure the distance of two trajectory. Experiment results show the effectiveness of our proposed means.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125430241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our combining strategy can be used for both error correction (EC) and PAPR reductions. The transmitted OFDM signals are selected which achieves minimum PAPR, from the set of extended hamming codes. The received signal can be decoded with no need of any side information, and EC function helps to reduce the bit error rate (BER). Both the theoretical analysis and simulation results prove that this novel method can successfully reduce PAPR in OFDM system, in the meantime, the system has good performance of BER simultaneously.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116008045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional ways of treatment can bring great pain to the patients. Radiofrequency(RF) ablation has become a feasible and minimally invasive treatment for soft tissue sarcomas. However, there are few literatures to study the energy and temperature distributions in the sarcomas. In this paper, sarcomas simulation model was established based on the prototype of gastrointestinal stromal sarcoma. Parameters of electric and thermal properties of the sarcomas were set appropriately by considering its thermal sensitivity. Temperature of 323.15K is chosen as a border edge to evaluate the efficacy of RF ablation. Results indicate that the maximum temperature point occurs at the apex of RF probe. Growth of temperature at the probe apex decreases with the increment of ablation time. In addition, a local maximum temperature point is presented at the interface of the sarcoma and muscle tissue, which is meaningful for RF ablation to keep the normal tissue undamaged. Effects of electrode insertion depth on the RF ablation were studied in this paper. Results indicate that area of tumor cell necrosis is expanded gradually with the increase of insertion depth and RF power radiated. However, the temperature of the apex of probe drops with the increasing of the depth inserted. As a result, probe insertion depth and RF ablation power must be cooperated to achieve desired RF ablation effect.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115394764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper focuses on how to jam the communication efficiently. The targeted communication system is consisted with UAV and Soldier nodes. All the nodes in the system are moving in a certain pattern. It has communications between air and ground and in mobile wireless networks. The traditional jamming strategies are no longer efficient for this case. So we introduce a Restricting Moving Range (RMR) jamming method. The RMR method can be used to jam the air-ground communication and mobile wireless communication, in which the soldiers are moving in random pattern or group pattern. The simulation shows that RMR produces a good result when the soldiers are moving in random pattern and give out an acceptable result when soldiers are moving in group pattern.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124271440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we proposed IWFR: Immediate Wireless Full-Duplex Relay which exploits the advantages of full-duplex to shorten the end-to-end time delay and improve the throughput. At the same time, we designed a new implicit acknowledgement mechanism, which can eliminate the ACK overheads and evidently improve the throughput of the relay. To implement IWFR, we also modified the full-duplex node architecture to make it support for immediate relay. Simulation shows that IWFR shortens the end-to-end time delay by 60% on average and improves the throughput to 240% of the original relay.","PeriodicalId":306383,"journal":{"name":"2014 4th IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127220879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In contrast to previous methods, our approach is based on correlation analysis of web quality metrics at user-perceived level. Our model has three significant characteristics. First, we extract several web quality metrics which are closely related to user's subjective feelings. Second, by means of Pearson correlation analysis, we acquire five key metrics best reflecting web quality. Third, based on selected web quality metrics, we propose a novel comprehensive assessment model of web quality. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach by evaluating comprehensive assessment scores.
