In this paper we have applied Block Plane Coding Technique (BPCT) for concealing the secret data into the randomly obtained frames of video and Least Significant Bit (LSB) algorithm for audio of same video. We have obtained the key security parameters like Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Mean Square Error (MSE), Normalize Cross Correlation Factor (NCCF), Bit Error Rate (BER), histogram and spectrograph before embedding and after recovering the protected data from stego video using forensic technique to increase the data security. Moreover, the proposed scheme provides a large hiding capacity, more security for secret data and good visual recovery of both secret data and original video than any other existing methods. Through many attack during transmission on stego video, it is found that the suggested approach is more robust than any other existing methods.","PeriodicalId":30618,"journal":{"name":"ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"1633-1639"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41536919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Being an attractive solution creates the need to design such devices for various application scenarios. We have addressed that need by designing, simulating, and testing a rectangular microstrip patch directional antenna at 5GHz. \u0000Antenna patch and ground plane were designed with the well-known guided wavelength equation. The antenna performance, in terms of return loss at -10dB, gain, bandwidth, and the radiation pattern was analyzed with a simulation model. The proposed antenna achieved an impedance bandwidth of 77.8MHz (from 4.9662GHz to 5.0440GHz) and a gain of 6.26dBi at 5GHz. The antenna performance was verified with a software defined radio platform. \u0000We found that the software radio measurements confirmed the key simulation results. Furthermore, the extensive use of simulation enabled us to develop both antenna and digital baseband algorithms in parallel.","PeriodicalId":30618,"journal":{"name":"ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"1664-1672"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47872463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technique gaining more popularity in current communication network, since it provides advantages in terms of higher data rates and maximum capacity with the cost of more energy consumption. In this paper, QAM modulation scheme is analyzed as the best modulation scheme for the total energy required to transmit the given number of bits is reduced. A SDR testbed has been built to implement Almouti coded MIMO system using LABVIEW and Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) platform. The analysis was then extended to evaluate the energy consumption of the system where it was observed that by minimizing the transmission power the energy requirement of the system gets reduced. Then the system efficiency in terms of transmit power was evaluated using USRP. It has been observed that by adjusting carrier frequency transmit power of the system gets reduced up to 25%.Finally the performance of the system is evaluated by demonstrating the effect of transmission distance, symbol rate, spectral efficiency and circuit power on energy consumption of the system using LABVIEW math script.","PeriodicalId":30618,"journal":{"name":"ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"1650-1655"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46535870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this also leads to the increased of road accidents where major causes are related to human errors which can be prevented. To tackle with this problem, vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is introduced with the aim to make vehicles intelligent. In order to study the algorithm in VANET, a mobility simulator is needed for simulation purpose. In this case, SUMO is proved to be a good simulation tool in generating VANET environment while MATLAB is good for algorithm development. Yet, to develop a good simulation platform, modification on SUMO files are necessary. This paper discusses on the procedures in creating a left-hand traffic (LHT) simulation file that is suitable to be used in Malaysia. LHT simulation is not easy to achieve as modification on the road connection and traffic light files are required. This paper also showed the results of the simulation after SUMO files modification. Apart from that, this paper also showed the simulation of VANET environment using SUMO and MATLAB through a third party interfacing named TraCI4Matlab, which allows communication between MATLAB and SUMO simulator.","PeriodicalId":30618,"journal":{"name":"ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"1625-1632"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48351259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The WSN is expected to play a significant role in future internet based application services. WSN has been adopted in healthcare, disaster management, environment monitoring and so on. The low-cost availability of smart devices has led to increased use of wireless devices such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc. Therefore, cognitive radio network plays a significant role in handling spectrum efficiently. The emerging internet access technology such as 4G and 5G network which is expected to come in near future is going to make cognitive spectrum access more challenging. The existing cognitive radio based WSN is not efficient in utilizing spectrum. They induce high collision due to interference and improper channel state information. To address, this work present an efficient distributed opportunistic spectrum access for wireless sensor network. The channel availability of likelihood distribution is computed using continuous-time Markov chain considering primary transmitting users temporal channel usage channel pattern and spatial distribution. The simulation outcome shows the proposed model achieves significant performance improvement over existing model. The proposed model improves the overall spectrum efficiency of cognitive radio wireless sensor network in terms of throughput, packet transmission and collision.","PeriodicalId":30618,"journal":{"name":"ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"1559-1565"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41434564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover there is a tremendous increase in wireless device users so the data rates and network capacity offered by conventional cellular network is not sufficient. So the effort to suppress base-stations power consumption are desperately needed and for that heterogeneous cellular network has been introduced. This paper provides the complete analysis of energy efficient wireless systems for heterogeneous cellular network as it has been pointed out to be one of the key network architectures that help to increase system capacity and reduce power consumption. Heterogeneous network with coordinated multi-point has received significant attention as a way of achieving energy efficiency and to improve the network handling capacity in heterogeneous cellular network. Usually in communication those users which are on the edge of the cells always suffer with the low data rates and low capacity. Moreover they get interference from the adjacent cells. To mitigate these problems and achieve higher energy efficiency Heterogeneous network with coordinated multi-point came out as one of the best solutions. In this paper heterogeneous network is considered with the Voronoi tessellation and between the cells coordinated multi-point technique is applied and compared with the noncoordinated multipoint scenario. Heterogeneous network is the integrated part of the beyond 4G wireless network for better energy efficiency.","PeriodicalId":30618,"journal":{"name":"ICTACT Journal on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"1592-1596"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48583889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The stored ECG paper records are recorded on thermal paper and may face ink evaporation problem over the time. Generally, to overcome this problem ECG paper record is scanned and stored as an image. However, the addition of noise during scanning such as low resolution scan, blurring, folding of paper, nonuniform lighting, orientation etc. can create difficulty in information retrieval. Current work robustly handles various degradation problems encountered in ECG paper scanning using modified k-fill algorithm. The proposed algorithm is tested with 836 ECG paper recordings with different types of degradations like aging effect, folding effect, ink evaporation effect, blurring effect and low resolution effect. We extracted clinically important parameters such as heart rate etc. with accuracy of 97.33% and abnormalities such as bradycardia, tachycardia, and atrial flutter from the ECG paper records using perceptual spectral centroid method.
