This system is shown to provide a flexible, cost-effective and safe environment. It is an effective educational tool used in defense industry to assist soldiers in shooting skill improvement, or provide players an immersive shooting experience in the virtual reality game industry. It is developed and tested for understanding its advantages and limitations. Interface image capturing and processing response time analysis has been performed. In the results of this study, the response time is one-tenth of a second. It is satisfactory in a real application.","PeriodicalId":305800,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116524072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most SCAs could be avoided by obtaining an early diagnosis from ECG recordings. The long-term monitoring systems record a large number of beats and require automatic detection and classification of the premature ventricular contraction (PVC) beats. Several ECG beat classification algorithms based on different methodologies have been developed and implemented. This paper presents a novel algorithm for automatic recognition of a premature ventricular contraction (PVC) beat based on a three-bit linear prediction error signal (LPES). The algorithm is composed of three main stages: signal denoising and QRS detection; nonlinear transformation of the linear prediction error signal e(n); and a sliding window. The proposed algorithm was tested using ECG signals from two recognized arrhythmia databases, MIT-BIH and AHA. The selected signals contained normal beats as well as abnormal beats. Sensitivity and specificity parameters were used to measure the accuracy of the proposed classifier. The sensitivity achieved using the proposed algorithm was 96.3% and the specificity was 99.0%. In addition to its accuracy, the main advantages of using the proposed algorithm are its simplicity and robustness.","PeriodicalId":305800,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114583263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, the pressure measurement gives valuable information about air flow phenomena such as shock, flow separation and boundary layer transition. In this paper a real-time image processing system for pressure sensitive paint (PSP) measurement and calibration has been designed using a calibrated pressure sensor. In the implementation of the system, TCL paper is used to luminaphore inside a windowed enclosure and a factory-calibrated pressure sensor for validation of measurement. The pressure measurement of PSP is based on the images acquired from a CCD camera sent to the MyRIO processor module in which the real-time image processing has been applied. The results are compared with the calibrated sensor from which the A and B coefficients of the Estern Volmer Equation have been calculated. During the several tests done for the pressure measurement, the accuracy of the PSP measurement has been calculated in this paper. Both normal and real-time image processing analysis have been compared as well.","PeriodicalId":305800,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING","volume":"66 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132984286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed system aims at reducing computational time with available hardware to yield more efficient results. The proposed model utilizes Histogram Oriented Gradients and facial encodings derived from facial landmarks. It also addresses the problems related to accuracy of facial recognition and the resource requirement for quick, real-time facial recognition by applying multi-processing. The improvement in performance in terms of accuracy across two different methods, and the improvement in terms of time requirement for the same method using different strategies have also been documented for demonstration. The designed system demonstrates the effectiveness of task parallelization with a minimum amount of hardware desiderata. The system has been designed to an optimum self-sustaining ecosystem which can efficiently operate on its own accord and compute comprehensible feedback without the requirement of any third-party human interference. A Graphical User Interface has been incorporated into the system for maximum user comprehensibility","PeriodicalId":305800,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129760753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
