The objective of this article was to create an ontology of the psychological profile that considers the personality traits and facets of the user that incorporates concepts and properties to formally model the user’s profile. For the construction of our ontology we use the NeOn methodology. In addition, for the development of the ontological network, relevant ontologies have been taken into account in the scientific field focused on the domain of the user such as: FOAF, VCARD and SKOS. By means of an alignment of these ontologies with a central module of personality traits and a specific module for the integration of the IPIP Test NEO-PI-R, it has been possible to efficiently interoperate the profile information. In the experimentation phase it was possible to obtain the SPARQL query traceability to obtain the registered responses of a person in the IPIP Test NEO-PI-R.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121886664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, it discusses the key concepts of interest to the generation protection. Particular attention is given to grounding techniques and the criteria adopted for the design of grounding resistors used in those equipment. Then the main protection functions applicable to generators are presented, particularly those related to fault detection in the stator windings. The criteria for setting the parameters of these functions are also discussed.After that, the use of a laboratory shelf, based on Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) for testing and analysis of the protection system, is described in order to validate the correct performance in face of possible operating conditions in the field. Finally, a study case is developed using the concepts developed throughout the research. Then, the design and implementation of the protection system of generators of a hypothetical hydroelectric plant are carried out. To evaluate and analyze the performance of this example network protection system, parameterized up IED G60 (GE) and held numerous simulations in the proposed test platform.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125667933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we propose a semantic level shadow segmentation by using generative adversarial networks and created a dataset of pre-processed images for training, validation and test. In this way, we trained a generator network that produces shadow masks with condition on a satellite image patch and tries to fool a discriminator, which is trained to discern if a given mask comes from the ground truth or from the generator model. The results achieve an accuracy of 95.85% and a Kappa coefficient of 91.76%, which is superior to the compared methods.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"384 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116484217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent theoretical results, have provided meaningful guarantees for the success of popular ℓ<inf>1</inf>-norm penalized CSC algorithms in the noiseless case. However, experimental results related to the ℓ<inf>0</inf>-norm penalized CSC case have not been addressed.In this paper we propose a two-step ℓ<inf>0</inf>-norm penalized CSC (ℓ<inf>0</inf>-CSC) algorithm, which outperforms (convergence rate, reconstruction performance and sparsity) known solutions to the ℓ<inf>0</inf>-CSC problem. Furthermore, our proposed algorithm, which is a convolutional extension of our previous work [1], originally develop for the ℓ<inf>0</inf> regularized optimization problem, includes an escape strategy to avoid being trapped in a saddle points or in inferior local solutions, which are common in nonconvex optimization problems, such those that use the ℓ<inf>0</inf>-norm as the penalty function.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130760147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus starting from the fact that bacterium’s ions are exerting repulsion or attraction to others bacteria belonging the same population, is a cause to impulse motility or mobility of the population. It also might be a property of the whole aggregation to determine decisions that maintain their wellness and protection against antibacterial agents. We interpret the resulting solution of the diffusion’s equation to model charged aggregations. From here we pass to calculate electric forces that enter inside an Monte Carlo ab-initio algorithm targeting to calculate the net displacement of a population of bacteria.The resulting bacteria displacements have turned out to be dependent on the Bessel function’s order.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134132695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These processes are related to high levels of formaldehyde contamination and, consequently, to a dangerous risk to human health. To which must consider that at a global level labor and safety regulations do not yet include this gas as a human carcinogen. In this research, several tests have applied to the reactor, such that its thermal signals plus formaldehyde pollution around the environment of the reactor have been used for a successful identification by a mathematical procedure using the Laguerre functions. Another goal is to find the thermal condition that triggers formaldehyde pollution. Finally has been to find a model endowed enough capability to will be using it in pollution control tasks in such industrial facilities.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133383522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In essence we have defined a mathematical formulation based entirely in scores of students in up to five core courses including basic and applied sciences. Basically we have parameterized the model that incorporates information of the student’s performance as well as the identification of the fifth superior and fourth superior of the class. This concrete information serves to define rates that subsequently enters into a full parameterization of the model by adding extra variables which to some extent would enclose information about the tangible compromise of the institution to maintain the number of students belonging to the fifth superior permanently over the time of duration of the program. Clearly the inclusion of these additional variables into the model is perceived as the necessity to add crucial information about the continuous improvement that makes the institution to keep an acceptable QoE in time. As discussed in the paper, the so-called parameterization done in the model is in concordance with the current indicators of quality in high education that demands a permanent progressive evolution of the engineering programs in particular that of the electrical engineering because the fast growth of technologies and their application in a modern society where the university-student interaction is a must for a continuous improvement of the self-sustained development of the societies in Latin American cities like Lima.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132787561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some alternatives of the operational configuration of the robot are differential drive, Ackerman steering, or Omni-directional. In that context, this work uses the differential drive configuration due to its simple mathematical model and low computational cost which allows for easy implementation of several specific tasks. The focus of this work is the implementation of a trajectory tracking control for a differential mobile robot based on polar coordinates where it will be compared to an LQR controller. The controllers based on polar coordinates and LQR were implemented in an experimental prototype of a differential mobile robot where the NI MyRIO embedded hardware and the Labview Software were used. The obtained results of the performance of the differential wheeled mobile robot for the designed controllers are shown and discussed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":305576,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE XXV International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing (INTERCON)","volume":"179 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114747782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
