These closures leave massive gaps in clean energy production, inherently jeopardizing the ability of the U.S. to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 in accordance with the Paris Agreement. The federal government should take initiative to help struggling nuclear facilities to maintain its current output and reverse the current backsliding the industry is experiencing. This essay discusses two policy options, including a subsidy for nuclear facility construction and an enhanced nuclear production tax credit. As electricity demand continues to grow into the future, federal investment in domestic nuclear energy would yield significant benefits for energy infrastructure and technological advancement and help mitigate the climate crisis.

This paper seeks to examine the research and proposals for carbon border adjustments and provide a guide for policymakers on the efficacy and design of such border adjustments.

To address this issue, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010 includes directives to “improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare” by “linking payment and quality outcomes.” An outcomes-based payment model links provider payment directly to patient outcomes and the cost of care to change provider incentives and improve the value of care provided. In this paper, I analyze the current fee-for-service payment model in the United States healthcare system and the potential market corrections that can be made through the implementation of an outcomes-based payment model. This analysis is conducted utilizing standard and behavioral economic theory with accompanying practical recommendations for successful implementation.

This trend is extremely harmful to national stability, and in turn, peace and harmony. It disrupts daily life and interrupts economic activity. It may cause doom and depression among the citizens, drive away foreign investors, and cripple national growth. The link between social media and mob violence can be best explained through the ‘networked riot theory.’ According to this theory, social media can accelerate violence. For the sake of domestic stability, the dangerous trend of societal polarization needs to be discouraged. The states have increasingly been compelled to develop policies to curb harmful activities through social media. This paper suggests a social media policy guideline to reduce societal polarization.
https://www.scienceopen.com/document_file/7609b6e4-742d-4398-9255-f3c7d7e54ce5/ScienceOpen/04%20-%20Tughral%20Yamin-Social%20Media%20%20Mob%20Violence-Social%20Polarization-ED.pdf

State governments, particularly those in the Midwest and South, have introduced RTW laws to attract businesses and industrialize local economies. Consequently, the laws increase competition among nonunion workers, driving wages down. The laws also weaken labor unions’ ability to bargain for wage increases, especially as unions are strained to bargain for workers that are not dues-paying members. After implementation, RTW laws generally increase economic inequality. However, the local socioeconomic conditions, such as racial and gender diversity in the labor force, can influence the demand for union representation and may impact the degree to which economic inequality will change. There have been repeated attempts to expand RTW to the national level, but these attempts would risk magnifying wage disparities, undermining unions’ bargaining power, and exacerbating socioeconomic inequalities.

The introduction of integrated public policies to address the food and nutrition needs in Pakistan is an immediate requirement. This study has applied the \u0000 \u0000 Foster, Greer and Thorbecke (FGT) index to estimate food and nutrition security dimensions \u0000 \u0000 through primary and secondary data. This analysis reveals that food utilization and sustainability have destabilized and deteriorated in Pakistan in recent years. It shows that non-farmers are more food insecure (8 percent) than farmers (4 percent) and this ratio has increased from 2008 to 2018. Food insecurity in terms of food availability and food accessibility has decreased. A holistic approach in public policies toward food security is the clarion call of the time. Therefore, the paper recommends that more focus should be given to knowledge transmission about dietary diversity, provision of quality education, and health facilities in the formulation as well as execution of food security policies.\u0000

The paper seeks to examine: why does the Pakistani state remain captured by social actors, despite similar post-colonial geopolitical trajectories of Pakistan and South Korea, failing to set up a developmental state and transform into an Asian tiger? On the other hand, South Korea was able to become a developmental state and achieved high rates of social and economic growth, uplifting the living standards of the vast majority of its population. It identifies social structure and conflicting elite interest as twin independent variables explaining the divergent (outcome) dependent variable of a developmental state in South Korea and a predatory state in Pakistan. This paper refutes the neoliberal school of thought that attributes the success of the East Asian Tigers to market forces rather than the role of the state. It aligns itself with the developmental state theory and neo-statist approach emphasizing on state intervention to explain the phenomenon of the East Asian economic miracle and likewise, the failure of Pakistan to achieve similar levels of socioeconomic growth.

On August 5, 2019, the BJP-led Indian government removed the special guarantees given to the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) through the abolition of articles 35-A and 370 of the Constitution of India in an act of clear violation of international law. The endeavor to unravel the complex idea of geoeconomics encounters the simple human urge of accumulating goods. Economics and politics go hand in hand, rather they provide cover to each other. The idea of geoeconomics replacing geopolitics as a new global force is easier to understand if the underlying phenomenon of power and control is weighed in. This phenomenon works in all possible ways to make its gains, through the political, economic, or forceful means. Like politics, economics too is moving globally and can be used to gain power over people and control over resources. Geoeconomics should be considered a form, or means of gaining political ends. Political economy is conducting economics through politics, and conversely, economic-politics or geoeconomics means conducting politics through economics. Economics is an activity that creates movement of goods, increases productivity, and brings prosperity. When it becomes a means to gain power and control upon ‘others’, in addition to these gains, it turns into geoeconomics.
