It is studied power resonant DC-DC converter with voltage doubler synchronous rectifier (VDSR), used to equalize the voltage across series connected supercapacitor cells, which are part from ESS. In this application, high frequency transformer is used for galvanic isolation. The proposed converter ensures turn the primary side power MOSFET on in both zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and zero–current switching (ZCS) modes and turns it off in ZVS mode. This will reduce the switching losses and improve the converter efficiency. The secondary side implemented VDSR is soft switched on and off (ZCS mode). Any known voltage balancing methods could be used to drive this resonant converter. For verification the simulations results, experimental research was done.","PeriodicalId":304248,"journal":{"name":"2019 16th Conference on Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems (ELMA)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124894537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The coil is EI transformer type construction. The time constant and steady state temperature rise are predicted, based only on limited number experimental data, using directly Least Square Method (LSM) and recommendations in [1]. The sizing follows an appropriate algorithm containing primary potential estimation, PV energy yield calculation, study of the irrigation system, selection of appropriate pump and converter, estimation of the pumped debit, application of operation strategy, taking into account the agricultural crop, and calculation of different parameters for qualitative analysis. Different criteria are considered to determine the optimal configuration of the irrigation system – installation cost, missed for pumping debit and days with incomplete irrigation. The proposed algorithm is applied to the site of Sandanski, Bulgaria for two different agricultural crops. The results show the advantage of the PV based power supply for remote areas.","PeriodicalId":304248,"journal":{"name":"2019 16th Conference on Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems (ELMA)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128425282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
