Such zones are residential zones where persons can stay24 hours a day; preschools, schools, hospitals, tourist facilities and children’s playgrounds. In most cases they are well covered by signals of cellular networks and their services, requiring comprehensive monitoring of present EMF exposure. Such monitoring should be mandatory when technical changes are performed on radiation elements of EMF sources, in the vicinity of these zones. Thus, the suitable EMF monitoring and assessment of the human exposure to EMFs become an important topic for relevant research community, as well as for public debates on dangerous health effects of EMF exposure. In this paper, utilization of the Serbian EMF RATEL network and its approach of continuous EMF monitoring in University of Novi Sad campus, as a zone of increased sensitivity, will be considered.","PeriodicalId":302869,"journal":{"name":"2022 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering (ELECOM)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127113678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The availability and topology of power lines in every building besides advantages such as broadband data services and no need for new infrastructure, increase the appeal of this technology. However, power lines are a harsh environment for the transmission of data due to signal attenuation, multipath propagation, interference and noise, especially impulsive noise. In this work, an indoor broadband PLC channel is modelled which uses Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) techniques along with OSTBC with an objective to improve the bit error rate performance (BER). For the bursty behaviour of impulsive noise, the Markov-Middleton noise model which has its parameters derived from the Middleton Class A noise model is considered. Both impulsive noise models are implemented in the MIMO PLC channel. It has been found that MIMO along with Orthogonal Space Time Block Codes (OSTBC) is greatly effective in reducing multipath propagation and frequency-selective fading as a gain of14.93 dB at a BER of $10^{-5}$ is observed when compared to the Single Input Single Output (SISO) counterpart. It was also found that Markov-Middleton noise degrades the system slightly more than Middleton Class A noise as the SNR difference between the systems increases from 0.99 dB to 4.04 dB when the impulsiveness increases.","PeriodicalId":302869,"journal":{"name":"2022 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering (ELECOM)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132078153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, classical design equations are used to obtain geometrical parameters of the SCIM before simulating the five SCIMs with FEM. The SCIMs are designed by using the same winding layout, stator outer diameter, stack length, rated power of 7. 5kW and rated speed of 1460 rpm. The rotor slot count varies from 36 to 59, and the standard SCIMs have 48 stator slots. According to the simulation results, there is a rotor slot number at which the highest possible power factor, torque, and efficiency are attained, together with the least amount of torque ripple and losses. It is observed that stator/rotor slot combinations of 48/36, 48/40, 48/57, and 48/59 exhibit torque ripples of 4.15%, 4.40%, 4.60% and 4.65%, respectively, while 48/44 recorded the highest ripple of 6.44%. Nevertheless, SCIMs with 48/44 and 48/59 stator/rotor slot combination recorded the highest (89.31%) and lowest (86.9%) efficiency at the rated condition. Based on the needs of the industrial applications, these insights can be applied to the design of three-phase SCIM.","PeriodicalId":302869,"journal":{"name":"2022 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering (ELECOM)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131447348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, it has been facing several challenges, such as competition from the Metro Express and an inability to upgrade its services. In addition, public buses still face inefficiencies that discourage the public to travel by them. These include bus drivers tending to drive slowly on purpose or dangerously fast resulting in their schedules at bus stops being unreliable. This paper exploits advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data analytics to enhance the efficiency of bus operations and provide a better service to the public. It presents the design and implementation of a microcontroller-based system that uses real-time data from onboard camera and GPS to monitor the condition of the road and the bus speed. The system can detect whether the bus is driving too fast or purposely too slow and upload pictures as proof. A web application is also developed to process data uploaded by the system on the cloud to provide the passengers with the exact location of the buses on a map so that they can better plan their trip.","PeriodicalId":302869,"journal":{"name":"2022 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering (ELECOM)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128934526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nonetheless, their implementation is only feasible if the computing unit, generally a microcontroller, is capable of running the real-time tasks using sophisticated scheduling and power management techniques. In this paper, we address the hard real-time scheduling problem of Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) tasks in a uniprocessor RTEH (Real Time Energy Harvesting) computing system. In this model, a task is defined as a set of dependent sub-tasks that execute under precedence constraints with processing time and energy requirements. We demonstrate that the energy aware ED-H algorithm provides an optimal solution. We show that the scheduling policy directly includes a feasibility analysis by enforcing the precedence constraints, thus making it possible to get rid of semaphore synchronization.","PeriodicalId":302869,"journal":{"name":"2022 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering (ELECOM)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125559192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In education, there has been discussions, both in theory and in practice, around what technology offers to the educational community, and how it can help the educators offer effective learning or yet outcome-based education for the stakeholders (teachers, students, society). To this vein, this study introduces a Strategic Intelligence and Technology in Education framework, called SITE, designed for contextual analysis of the impact of the new and emerging educational technologies and innovations in education. Theoretically, it describes an ensemble algorithm or procedures that can be implemented by educators to provide a more strategic-process-related and enhanced curriculum or educational learning models. It then provides an empirical discussion and implications of the results of the data analysis conducted using datasets about (i) students’ learning outcome and assessment, and (ii) the different types of innovation in education. The results show that while “technology” is more associated to “educational innovation” than other methods or services. There is also, on the other hand, the need for reimagining education to include indicators for outcome-based education through integration of multi-service or co-productive learning components or pathways, such as amalgamation of technology with strategic intelligence done in this paper.","PeriodicalId":302869,"journal":{"name":"2022 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering (ELECOM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127383924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
