This crop is the second most important cereal in Turkey grown in 2.611.940 hectares of land, and 7.000.000 tonnes of yield was produced (TUIK 2018). Barley scald caused by Rhynchosporium commune Zaffarano, McDonald, and Linde (formerly Rhynchosporium secalis (Oudem.) J.J. Davis) (Zaffarano et al. 2011) is one of the important barley diseases in Turkey (Karakaya et al. 2014). Yield losses of 10%-70% due to this pathogen have been reported (Aktas 1984, Sheikh Jabbari 2008, Shipton et al. 1974, Zhang et al. 1992). Barley scald is controlled using chemical, agronomical, and genetic resistance measures. Introducing new sources of resistance to scald is accomplished by screening barley genotypes as well as determining the degree of pathogenic variation in R. commune populations. This method may omit the control of this fungus by chemical measures and help to implement environmentally friendly ways of disease control. Knowing pathogenic variability and obtaining barley genotypes resistant to scald can lead to the prevention of disease losses. Sitophilus granarius (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) and Tribolium castaneum (Herbst, 1797) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidea) are two important insect species that cause damage to stored products. The need for alternative drugs that can be used to control of pests in stored products is increasing day by day. In this study, the usability of plant extracts obtained from Achillea phrygia Boiss. et Bal. (Compositae), Prangos ferulacea (L.) Lindl. (Apiaceae) ve Salvia wiedemannii Boiss. (Lamiaceae) plants to control S. granarius and T. castaneum were investigated. At the end of 72 hours, the highest contact activity among the plants tested on S. garanarius showed P. ferulaceae hexane with 74% and A. biserrata methanol extract with 71%, respectively. The highest activity on T. castaneum was obtained by A. biserrata ethyl acetate extract at 42% after 72 hours. On the other hand, the highest repellent activity on S. granarius was obtained from P. ferulaceae ethyl acetate extract (52%) after 24 hours. Surveys were carried out between 2016 and 2017 to determine the harmful and beneficial insect species in the collard gardens of Duzce province, located in the West Black Sea Region of Turkey. As a result of this research, 18 harmful species from 7 families belonging to 4 orders and 5 beneficial species from 4 families belonging to 4 orders were found out in the collard gardens. Cabbage whitefly, Aleyrodes proletella (L.) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), was found as the main pest of collard and specified that this pest constitutes populations at potentially significant levels. Additionally, aphids Brevicoryne brassicae L. and Aphis craccivora Koch (Hemiptera: Aphididae) damage were determined in the collards. In some collard gardens, the following important harmful species that emerged occasionally were identified: Phyllotreta cruciferae Goeze, P. atra Fabricius, P. variipennis Boieldieu, P. striolata Fabricius, and P. undulata Kutschera (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) as flea beetles; Pieris brassicae (L.) and P. rapae (L.) (Lepidoptera: Pieridae) as cabbage moths. Aycicegi ekilisinin yogun olarak yapildigi Ayas, Bala, Beypazari ve Kalecik ilcelerinde yapilan survey ve orneklemelerden elde edilen veriler degerlendirilmistir. H. nebulellum’un, Ankara ilinde yayginligi her iki yilda %100 olarak tespit edilmistir. Zararlinin bulasma oranlari ise 2013 yilinda %3.74, 2014 yilinda %3.80 olarak saptanmistir. Ankara ilinde Tabla curuklugu hastaligina neden olan turun Rhizopus stolonifer (Ehrenb.) Vuill. oldugu ve yayginliginin 2013 yilinda %76.68, 2014 yilinda %70.42 oldugu tespit edilmistir. Hastaligin bulasma orani ise 2013 yilinda %4.08, 2014 yilinda %4.04 olarak belirlenmistir. Elde edilen sonuclara Ki-kare kokenli iliski katsayisi testi uygulandiginda, zararli ile hastalik arasinda %72.4 oraninda iliski belirlenmistir. Seed samples were collected from greenhouses in the surveyed provinces. After isolation of fungi from these seeds, isolates were identified by morphological and molecular techniques. In the result of the study, plant pathogenic fungal species, Pseudocercospora griseola (53%), Stemphylium vesicarium (14.5%), Fusarium oxysporum (6.5%), Fusarium solani (5.25%), Stemphylium globuliferum (4.5%), Stemphylium herbarum (tel: Pleospora herbarum) (2%), Fusarium sambucinum (1%), Trichothecium roseum (0.75%) ve Paecilomyces sp. Sebze uretiminde fungal hastaliklar buyuk ekonomik kayiplara yol acabilmektedir, bu kayiplari engellemek icin bitki koruma calismalari buyuk onem arz etmektedir. Bu calismada marul, nane, maydanoz, dereotu, roka ve tere uretimini kisitlayan faktorlerin basinda gelen fungal hastaliklarin ve yayginliklarinin belirlenmesi amaclanmistir. Orta Anadolu Bolgesi’nde yapilan bu calismada, Eskisehir, Ankara ve Konya illerinde 2015-2017 yillari arasinda calismalar yurutulmus, saptanan fungal hastalik etmenlerinin morfolojik teshisleri yapilmis, patojenisite denemeleri yurutulmus ve bolgedeki yayginlik oranlari belirlenmistir. Hastalik belirtisi gosteren bitkilerden izolasyonlar yapilmis, elde edilen izolatlar egik agar, -20 oC ve -80 oC’de saklanmistir. Calisma kapsaminda bolgeyi temsil edecek sekilde rastgele secilen toplam 103 fistik bahcesinde arazi gozlemleri yapilmistir. Yapilan survey calismalari sonucunda, 4’u tek cenekli, 33’u cift cenekli olmak uzere 37 familyaya ait toplam 170 yabanci ot turu saptanmistir. Yabanci ot tur sayisi bakimindan en fazla taksona sahip familyalarin Asteraceae (29 tur), Poaceae (23 tur), Fabaceae (18 tur), Apiaceae (12 tur) ve Brassicaceae (12 tur) oldugu saptanmistir. Belirlenen turler arasinda rastlanma sikligi en yuksek olan yabanci otlar ise Avena spp., Anchusa azurea Miller. , Bromus tectorum L., Cardaria draba (L.) Desv., Carduus pycnocephalus L., Fumaria officinalis L., Lamium amplexicaule L., Lactuca serriola L., Galium aparine L., Lolium perene L., Medicago sativa L., Papaver rhoeas L., Sinapis arvensis L., Thlaspi arvense L. ve Vicia sativa L. oldugu gorulmustur. Bulunduklari bolgede en fazla yogunluk olusturan turlerin ise Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. ve Convolvulus arvensis L. oldugu tespit edilmistir. Siirt genelinde Antep fistigi bahcelerindeki yabanci otlarin genel kaplama alani yaklasik %37 olarak belirlenmistir. Yabanci ot tur sayisi, turlerin rastlanma sikligi ve yogunluklari ile kaplama alanlari yonuyle ilceler arasinda buyuk farkliliklarin oldugu saptanmistir. Yabanci otlarin genel kaplama alani Merkez ilcesinde en yuksek (%53) seviyedeyken Baykan ilcesinde en dusuk seviyede (%19) bulunmustur. Ayrica Eruh (155 tur) ilcesinde en fazla yabanci ot tur sayisina rastlanirken en az tur sayisi Baykan (76 tur) ilcesinde saptanmistir. (Hemiptera: Tingidae) Akdeniz ulkelerinin de icinde bulundugu Palearktik bolgede elma basta olmak uzere sert ve yumusak cekirdekli meyve agaclarinin onemli bir zararlisidir. Bu calismada S. pyri ’nin populasyon yogunlugu 2013-2015 yillari arasinda Cukurova Universitesi’nde (Balcali-Adana) bir elma bahcesinde takip edilmistir. Rastgele secilen 10 agactan 10 yaprak ornegi toplanarak laboratuvarda nimf ve ergin sayimi yapilmistir. Bu calismada, S. pyri ’nin kislama yeri ve donemi incelenmis, ayrica dol sayisi da hesaplanmistir. Bu calismalar sonucunda, ilk bireyler her iki yilda da nisan ayinda gozlemlenmeye baslanmis ve en yuksek populasyona agustos ayinda ulasmistir. Son bireyler ise ilk yil kasim ayinda, ikinci yil aralik ayinda gozlemlenmistir. Eldeki verilere gore hem populasyon takibi hem de termal konstant hesaplamalarina gore zararlinin bolgede 6-7 dol verdigi saptanmistir. Izmir’de Euphyllura phillyreae Foerster, Aydin’da ise iki tur E. phillyreae ve E. straminea Loginova saptanmistir. E. phillyreae baskin tur olarak belirlenmistir. Iki ildeki zeytin bahcelerinde 2015 ve 2016 yillarinda bulasiklik oranlari, sirasiyla Izmir’de %98.5-%100; Aydin’da %100-%94.5 olmustur.
