The SFC is controlled by a tri-loop dynamic error driven inter coupled weighted modified PID controller. SFC scheme has been fully validated for effective power quality (PQ) improvement, voltage stabilization, power factor correction and feeder losses reduction. The proposed FACTS based scheme can also be extended to distributed/dispersed renewable energy interface and utilization systems and can be easily modified for other specific stabilization, compensation requirements, voltage regulation and efficient utilization duties enhancement.","PeriodicalId":301397,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121375777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose was to determine an optimum classification scheme that could be efficiently used in a brain-computer interface application. Each EEG data set were first excluded from noise and after that a feature selection procedure has been applied and then the data given to the classifier. This research demonstrated that according to the selected features, among these classification methods Support Vector Machines has the highest accuracy rates. On the other hand the training time of Linear Discriminant Analysis is the shortest of all. While the classification accuracy of mental and motor task comparison is high for all three classification methods, it decreases in case of two motor task comparison.","PeriodicalId":301397,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114278258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this reason, allocation of DG is not a trivial optimization problem. The reactive and active power fluctuation of DG will lead to voltage fluctuation, especially for wind or photovoltaic power generators. Their output powers are more unpredictable due to the intermittent wind speed and irradiation. In this paper, the effects of reactive and active powers of DG on voltage profile are analyzed by including their output power fluctuation and an artificial neural network (ANN) based decision support system are developed to be used in management and planning of DG integration. The proposed system can be used to determine suitable bus to reduce the voltage fluctuation of critical buses. The simulation results presented shows the effectiveness of the method.","PeriodicalId":301397,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125935851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, candidate nucleotide patterns of different signal regions were generated based on their conservatism, using the TFxIDF index of vector space model that is widely used in text categorization. Then, effective features were selected through a genetic algorithm based wrapper feature selection method. Finally, a boosting method called Adaboost.M1 was adopted to verify the feature subset by identifying poly(A) sites. The results showed that our feature selection method could significantly reduce the dimension of feature space to enhance the classifier performance to a large extent. Moreover, the selected features could be used to improve the parameters of the poly(A) site recognition model, thus enhanced the prediction accuracy greatly. This study will not only enhance our understanding of poly(A) signals, but also concisely show a poly(A) site recognition model by applying classifier on the feature space.","PeriodicalId":301397,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127356277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most broadcast soccer videos, replays succeed excitement clips. Replays often stand between two successive logos. Here neural network learning is used to detect logos. Events such as close-ups of players, close-ups of referees, staple line in corner point, spectators and players' gathering are extracted from the excitement clips. These events are used as evidences for BBN and posterior probabilities of semantic concepts such as goals, saves, off-side, foul and corner are computed. Experimental results on several soccer videos demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":301397,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115059696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
