Data were collected from a patient experience survey carried out from 2013-2015 at a detoxification unit in Norway. The study includes 185 responses (response rate 62 %). Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. Significant associations were found between patients’ satisfaction and all the factors of the therapeutic relationship except respect and courtesy, support and motivation, which were non-significant in this study. Conversations with therapist showed the largest effect on patient satisfaction (effect size (ES) = 1.27), followed by conversations with doctor (ES = 0.78) and compassionate staff (ES = 0.52). The results suggest that the therapeutic relationship is associated with patient satisfaction in inpatient detoxification.","PeriodicalId":30131,"journal":{"name":"Nordisk Tidsskrift for Helseforskning","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71316822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nurse Anesthetists play an important role in this process, and have been given new tasks as a result of PICC-line implementation. This study aimed to describe Nurse Anesthetists’ experiences with implementation of PICC-line in hospital. A qualitative design, the data are based on three focus groups interviews with fifteen nurse anesthetists. The interviews were analyzed using a hermeneutic approach. Being a PICC-line nurse led to a feeling of competence, independence, motivation and meaningfulness. The implementation required good structure and organization, as well as enthusiasm. Collaboration and support influenced the implementation process. Good organization and enough available personnel, as well as good collaboration and support from the Anesthesiologists and the management are essential for a successful implementation.","PeriodicalId":30131,"journal":{"name":"Nordisk Tidsskrift for Helseforskning","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41450200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Support contact is a potential service with positive implications, but it has yet to be explored fully. The aim of this study was therefore, to explore these questions: 1) Will the support contact service be a favorable service for people with dementia? 2) How is the service experienced by patients with dementia, their carers, the support contacts, and the municipality’s administration of the service? 3) What experiences do those involved have of the service, and what do they regard as essential for a good service? A case-study design with qualitative studies of the involved illustrates the concept. The study concludes that support contact can be a highly appropriate service for people with dementia and their carers, and eventually can be coordinated with other services. This requires interprofessional collaboration between the nurses and general practitioners (GP`s). This article explores how the Coordination Reform has affected the collaboration between GP`s and nurses in the home nursing care, and what organisational factors are important for the collaboration. The results are based on a case study with focus group interviews including 20 nurses and in depth interviews with four GP`s. Analysis revealed that the Coordination reform has led to an asymmetry in the need for collaboration where the nurses have an increase in the need for collaboration. In addition, nurses wanted more meetings in patients` homes to discuss patients' health care needs. However, the funding system attached to the GP`s and their role as self-employed was an organisational barrier meeting nurses' needs.","PeriodicalId":30131,"journal":{"name":"Nordisk Tidsskrift for Helseforskning","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41444328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study has a qualitative design using in-depth interviews of immigrant women during pregnancy and the postnatal period. The question is how patients choose a healthcare provider by themselves. The aim was to describe what affected when patients chose healthcare providers. A literature review was carried out. The results showed that patients’ choice of healthcare providers depended on the following three themes: their own care experiences, caring relationships with staff and service provided by caregivers. The underlying idea of care choice is competition based on quality of care, but the results show that patients make their choices based on other factors as described in the result and therefore improvement can be achieved if focus is placed on being responsive for patient care needs.patient participation; primary care; caring needs; qualtiy of care; care choice; caring sciencepasientdeltakelse; primæromsorg; omsorgsbehov; kvalitet på omsorg; omsorg valg; omsorgsfull vitenskap ","PeriodicalId":30131,"journal":{"name":"Nordisk Tidsskrift for Helseforskning","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44754344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
