During the conservation and restoration work some untypical color changes of iron-gall inks were observed. This phenomenon contributed to further analysis of the inks in the manuscript and for this purpose some instrumental analysis were conducted, i.a. macro-X-Ray Fluorescence (macro-XRF), optical coherence tomography (OCT) and LIBS. Elle presente un mauvais vieillissement (jaunissement) ainsi qu’une affinite avec la couche huileuse des peintures, laissant des residus apres utilisation. Il est donc interessant de comprendre comment fonctionnent ces savons de facon a remplacer cet ingredient problematique par des substituts facilement accessibles aux restaurateurs. Une breve introduction des savons sera faite, puis leurs principales utilisations, leur composition et fonctionnement seront expliques.
