 We Belong to Big Church: Caribbean Soundings and Stories in Anglicania provides a rare insight into the cross-cultural dynamics of Afro-Anglicanism in the Caribbean and in North America. The historic fictional religious narratives of the first section give a voice to the ecclesial and cultural adjustments of the Anglican Caribbean Diaspora in America. The second section is a compilation of the author’s sermons, addresses, and lectures that engage issues of multiculturalism, inclusion, and racism as a call to stimulate further conversations on a proposed way forward in the Ecclesia Anglica. As the Professor of Theology at Howard University School of Divinity, Kortright Davis’ book is a creative and educative gem that fills the void of Afro-Caribbean literature and is a good starting place for navigating the conversations on cultural diversity.

However, prominent library organizations such as the American Library Association and IFLA have no published best practices or standards for digital exhibitions. The literature shows that digital exhibitions and digital supplements to in-person exhibits have benefits including increased accessibility and user engagement. Using interviews with professionals at information institutions, this paper reveals and clarifies the common practices used to create digital exhibitions and the challenges of the design process. Additional interviews with professors of religious studies who utilize digital exhibits and resources in their roles as educators provide insight into the use of digital exhibits as tools for expanding public understanding of important historical and cultural topics. The consensus of creators and users of digital exhibitions is that they are valuable educational resources that reach new users, provide additional context for materials, and increase user engagement.","PeriodicalId":30108,"journal":{"name":"Theological Librarianship","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134908616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rather than basing belonging in shared identity, homogeneity, tolerance, or loyalty, this essay argues that practices of care are what allow belonging to emerge and be sustained. The essay then identifies theological librarians as exemplars of what Jennings calls “the art of cultivating belonging.” While not a full proposal for rejuvenation of theological education, this essay draws connections between critical pedagogy, Jennings’ pedagogy of belonging, library science, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in a way that sparks further dialogue about the essentials of theological formation in the 21st century.","PeriodicalId":30108,"journal":{"name":"Theological Librarianship","volume":"3 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136377328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
